Anthropic pause fallback now skips rows without credential source, so the seeded fixture accounts were never eligible rotation targets and the paused account stayed selected (403 instead of 401/429). Matches the provenance the login path writes and the pause spec's own seed. Co-Authored-By: Devin AI <158243242+devin-ai-integration[bot]@users.noreply.github.com>

Follow-up verification for Two ordinary Anthropic OAuth test credentials now declare source oauth; no runtime or documentation changes. Exact original assertions pass at original time limits. Independent provenance, explicit legacy-selection and refresh-continuity regressions pass. The two original API assertions failed before the fixture correction, then passed unchanged in a fresh process (2 tests, 17 assertions). Separate explicit-legacy/provenance and continuity/refresh checks also passed at their original limits. The earlier expanded local run remains a failure (119 pass / 5 fail) after Windows fixture-cleanup EBUSY and a hook timeout with cascading ledger errors; it is not relabeled as passing. |
@lidge-jun, I agree that normal two-token rotation needs to work and that the current head should stay out of the release. The original both-tokens-rotated regression should be restored alongside a separate different-account rejection case. For the proposed direction, is the intended boundary that legacy fallback uses its own stored credentials without CLI disk adoption, while fully rotated CLI credentials may be adopted only once they are reliably bound to the same imported account? The current profile helper exposes an organization UUID, which cannot distinguish two accounts in one organization; I have not yet verified a reliable account-identity contract for this path. I want to resolve the regression without attaching another CLI account's tokens to the stored row. |

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy lift
The continuity gate rejects a legitimate Claude Code two-token rotation and leaves OpenCodex holding a consumed refresh token.
hasClaudeCredentialContinuity returns false only when both access and refresh differ from the stored values. A normal Claude Code refresh produces exactly that state: Claude Code sends the stored refresh token, and Anthropic returns a new access token and a new refresh token. The local-cli row then fails at src/oauth/index.ts Line 872. refreshAnthropicAccountWithLock continues to def.refresh(stored.refresh, …) with a refresh token that is already consumed.
There are two possible outcomes:
- Anthropic returns
invalid_grant, and the account is markedneedsReauth. - If refresh-token reuse detection exists, OpenCodex can revoke the token family that Claude Code is using.
The maintainer review on head 2bb62e5 reports this regression, and the author agrees. The new test at tests/oauth/local-token-detect.test.ts Line 145-150 expects this rejection, so the suite does not catch the regression.
A fix needs an identity contract that does not depend on token equality. Two options:
- Keep re-adoption for
local-clirows when the disk credential comes from the same storage location that the row was imported from, as before this PR. Apply the continuity gate only when the row was promoted from a different account, which is the pause-fallback case. - Before adoption, bind the disk pair to the stored account through a verified identity, such as an account UUID from a profile endpoint. Do not use the org UUID, because it cannot distinguish accounts within one organization.
Until one of these exists, rejecting a two-token rotation trades one account-confusion risk for a guaranteed refresh failure on the default Claude Code import path.

Published bounded legacy-fallback follow-up in 3db2ab4. Pausing the active Anthropic account now selects the first eligible row in the original wraparound ring, including source-less legacy rows. Paused, needsReauth, and local-cli credentials expiring within 60 seconds remain excluded. Legacy quota/model discovery uses the row's own stored bearer; refresh uses its stored refresh token and returns before CLI-disk detection. The shared REFRESH_SKEW_MS now lives in a dependency-free module used by store, routing, and refresh. English/Korean and structure explanations are synchronized. Before the runtime fix, the focused legacy-fallback regressions failed. After the fix, Linux/Bun 1.4.0 validation passed:
An independent agent statically reviewed the exact candidate: no actionable findings in fallback ordering, exclusions, stored-only legacy refresh, credential-continuity rejection, or module dependencies. This was static review, not an independent test rerun or maintainer/security approval. These local results apply to tree bc181c85a0e9e22458c8a12e75c037cd2b5a3c9e. The connector-created published commit was read back and verified to have that exact full tree and sole parent 2192075; the branch was updated with force=false. Commit metadata differs from the local candidate commit; content does not. Coverage limits: full suite and unfiltered test:changed were not run; validation was bounded to the requested regression and related synthetic cases under the task's harness restrictions. No claim is made that any specific test was actually blocked. Static import inspection shows Kiro transport-parity and socks5-fetch tests can reach changed OAuth modules, but this is not an executed Bun selection list. Native Messages tests exercise an in-process mocked transport on Linux; there was no real-provider, installed-CLI/keychain, Windows, or macOS validation. Both-token CLI identity/rotation remains unresolved and unchanged. No path, email, or organization UUID was accepted as identity evidence. The identity thread and independent maintainer/security/sponsorship decisions remain open. At publication, exact-head Cross-platform CI and React Doctor were in progress; no fresh CodeRabbit review was yet present. Older-head reviews are not counted as approval of this commit. |

fix(oauth): preserve Claude identity across token rotation (carry #6378)
|
Superseded by #6518, merged into The earlier technical hold was addressed in the replacement and explicitly reviewed by the coordinator. Historical identityless imports with no verifiable old bearer still need explicit operator recovery; this security boundary is documented rather than claimed as transparent migration. Independent coordinator review closed its findings at the final head; scoped CI passed at https://github.com/lidge-jun/opencodex/actions/runs/37135487096. No live-account/keychain or full-platform acceptance is implied. Final integrated regression/publication remain pending. |
Carry legacy fallback and refresh skew from lidge-jun#6378 at 3db2ab4. Verify fully rotated Claude pairs against bearer-bound account identity and capture ownership from one coherent store snapshot. Preserve unresolved history and refresh intent without guessing account ownership. Co-authored-by: Epinephrine <luvs01@hanmail.net>
Summary
Pausing an Anthropic account could promote an expiring background Claude CLI credential, then adopt another account's on-disk credential. Automatic pause fallback now preserves the original ring order and excludes paused rows, rows requiring reauthentication, and local-cli credentials expiring within the shared 60-second refresh window. Source-less legacy rows remain eligible using only their own stored credentials and normal stored-token refresh; they cannot adopt CLI-disk credentials. An unrecognized source value is discarded during credential normalization and follows that same source-less behavior; this does not bypass credential-shape validation. Claude Code re-adoption requires a nonempty access or refresh token shared with the stored credential and preserves its account identity; matching metadata or a shared path is insufficient.
Both automatic fallback and explicit selection of an existing eligible legacy account preserve its stored-credential ownership. A selected legacy row can use its own valid bearer for quota/model discovery and refresh its stored token normally. Independent regressions cover ring order, legacy fallback without CLI-disk adoption, and explicit legacy-account behavior. The maintenance fix for three CI failures adds explicit OAuth provenance to a synthetic native-Messages fixture, preserving the original 401/429 expectations and the runtime policy.
