The negative-check witness embedded a literal "{script}" substring in
its needle string, which the compiler's string-literal interpolation
picked up as a reference to an out-of-scope `script` variable
(undefined variable 'script'). Drop that witness; the remaining two
(stdin transport present, script exceeds the local argv-embed budget)
already prove the fix.

A large shell payload embedded in argv (sh -c "<script>") makes execve
fail with an opaque `os error 7` (E2BIG) once a single argument exceeds
the Linux per-argument ceiling MAX_ARG_STRLEN (32 * PAGE_SIZE = 131072
bytes) — the srv1 dashboard deploy hit exactly this by inlining a >128KB
server.js page into one argv element. Part A (routing shell.Exec.Run
scripts through stdin) is PR #6711; this is the general host-boundary
guard so the next over-embed fails loud and typed instead of opaque.

- Single authority: extdeps/os/exec_arg_limit.dag grounds
  host_exec_arg_max_strlen = byte_size(131072), cited to execve(2)
  (distinct from ARG_MAX, the larger argv+envp total — not modeled here).
- Typed, located refusal at the interp shell boundary
  (v1_interpreter::dispatch_shell, after render_shell_trace, before the
  exec branches): an argv whose largest single token exceeds the ceiling
  returns InterpError::ArgvExceedsHostArgMax { actual_bytes, limit_bytes,
  argv0 } — it refuses, never truncates or widens (DESIGN §5). Per single
  argument (MAX_ARG_STRLEN), never the argv total (over-approximation).
- HOST_ARG_MAX_STRLEN_BYTES mirrors the .dag authority; a test pins them
  equal so they cannot drift.

Proofs (green-by-execution + discriminating RED):
- argv_arg_limit_test (unit): exactly-limit passes, +1 refuses typed,
  many-small-args (total > limit) passes (per-arg, not total).
- exec_arg_limit_wet_test (wet, real sh): oversized argv command yields
  the typed refusal — not os error 7; small command still runs.
- exec_arg_limit_witness_test.dag: pins the authority value (floor).

Integrate main (#6706 witness-corpus, #6711 deploy, #6723 doc graph)
while retaining the thin emitted pre-push hook and Rust transport from
this branch; witness corpus policy lives in githooks_pre_push_plan.dag.

The stdin transport (PR #6711/#6733) writes the full script to the
child's stdin synchronously, before draining stdout/stderr. A script
that both consumes a large stdin payload and produces substantial
stdout can deadlock on full OS pipe buffers; when the child exits
early the write then fails with EPIPE ("Broken pipe (os error 32)"),
which is exactly what deploy_dashboard_srv1 hit on main after #6711
merged (the apply script is 246KB in, ~150KB out).

Move the stdin write to a spawned thread running concurrently with
wait_with_output() (which drains stdout/stderr). A stdin-write error
is only treated as fatal if the child itself exited non-zero, since a
script that exits 0 before consuming all of stdin is a legitimate
early-exit pattern (ordinary SIGPIPE/broken-pipe semantics).

Verified locally: a real shell.Exec.Run invocation with a 163,907-byte
stdin script that echoes 148,890 bytes of stdout completed cleanly
(exit=0) with the fix; reproduces the deadlock/broken-pipe without it.

Drops two scratch files (_deadlock_big_script.sh,
_deadlock_repro_test.dag) that an automated WIP commit picked up from
local verification scratch space — not intended as tracked test
fixtures.

Both witness tests independently hardcoded a byte_size(65536) budget
under two different local names — a §3 nickname fork of the same
kernel fact. Ground it once in dag/extdeps/shell/shell.dag as
shell_argv_max_arg_strlen, citing the Linux kernel's MAX_ARG_STRLEN
(include/uapi/linux/binfmts.h, 32 pages = 131072 bytes), and have both
witnesses derive their budget from that authority instead of
re-declaring it.

* Close the single-authority loop: witness cross-checks the Rust mirror against the .dag limit

Review (royal-carp-451): the note claimed "a witness pins both" but the
.dag witness and the Rust drift test pinned the same literal 131072
INDEPENDENTLY — no cross-check, a coverage-by-illusion overstate (§6).

exec_arg_limit_witness_test now reads src/v1/stage0/src/v1_interpreter.rs
(filesystem_read, disposition ReadsLiveTree) and asserts the const line
carries the value DERIVED FROM host_exec_arg_max_strlen — so bumping the
.dag authority reds this witness until the Rust const follows; the Rust
argv_arg_limit_test::mirror_matches_extdeps_authority still pins the Rust
side. The two representations can no longer drift silently. Note text in
extdeps/os/exec_arg_limit.dag corrected to describe the real cross-check.

* Fix #6713 test-debt ratchet: pair wet v1 test with floor witness stem

PR #6713 added exec_arg_limit_wet_test.rs, which tripped
test_migration_debt_module_count_does_not_grow (78 > 77 baseline) because
the v1 stem did not exactly match the floor witness stem. Rename to
exec_arg_limit_witness_test.rs so exact-stem coverage applies — no
baseline bump.

Co-authored-by: Cursor <cursoragent@cursor.com>

* Fix #6713 ratchet honestly: in-crate dispatch_shell wiring test

Revert the false-coverage rename (exec_arg_limit_wet -> witness stem
collision). The hermetic floor witness does not cover wet dispatch_shell
wiring — exact-stem pairing there was gaming the ratchet.

- Delete src/v1/tests exec_arg_limit module (debt count back to 77).
- Add argv_arg_limit_test::dispatch_shell_wiring_* in v1_interpreter.rs:
  builds shell.Exec.Check-shaped transport, proves ArgvExceedsHostArgMax
  is returned from dispatch_shell before spawn (wiring), not just from
  the pure argv_arg_limit_refusal predicate.
- Update witness note to point at the in-crate proof.

Verified: cargo test -p v1-compiler --lib argv_arg_limit (5/5);
test_migration_debt_module_count_does_not_grow PASS via claim_batch.

…pipefail) (#6746)

#6711 fixed the deploy E2BIG by routing the script through stdin (sh -s), which
let the script actually RUN — exposing the next bug: the live_deploy apply script
uses `set -euo pipefail` (emit.dag:73,120), a bash builtin option. `sh -s` runs it
under /bin/sh = dash on srv1, which rejects `-o pipefail`:
  sh: 1: set: Illegal option -o pipefail
-> exit 2 -> host_effect_apply fail-closed -> deploy_dashboard_srv1 red on main.

Root: a §3 receiver fork — the ssh path already declares the script receiver as
`bash -s` (ssh_transport_witness_test.dag ssh_exec_script_remote_receiver), but the
local Run transport used `sh -s`. Dissolve the fork: Run -> `["bash", "-s"]`, one
script receiver for both paths. (Check stays `sh -c` — it runs short POSIX probes,
not pipefail scripts.)

Proven by execution:
- Direct: printf 'set -euo pipefail\necho ok' | sh -s => Illegal option -o pipefail
                                              | bash -s => ok
- Witness shell_exec_run_argv_embed_witnesses extended: asserts the apply script
  requires bash (contains pipefail) AND Run uses `["bash", "-s"]` and not `["sh","-s"]`.
  GREEN on the fix; FAIL when reverted to sh -s (discriminating RED control).
