Summary

  • Adds src/v4/test/claim/manual/gunbhub_react_ts_emit_probe.dag — gunbhub Slice-0 R1 companion to ctrl R0 (workflows/gunbhub_html_sketch.dag).
  • Structurally composes a repo-browse page as a ReactElement tree from BrowseEntry data using v4.extdeps.frameworks.react carriers — no JSX string concat, no hand-written TS.
  • Hits the emit wall and names the missing primitive: ReactMarkupSerializer (JSX/TSX fold-to-text with cross-decl ref resolution + escaping). Shape A TS emit (effect-emit PR2: TS effect projection arm + executable real-IO receipt #4778 / ts_mvp1) covers language constructs only; Shape B has no markup serializer (deleted RenderDocument in dsl/std/render.dag:284; Branch D §2.3.1 GUARD forbids compiler JSX authority).

Test plan

  • gunbc run --source-root src/v4 --entry src/v4/test/claim/manual/gunbhub_react_ts_emit_probe.dag --function gunbhub_browse_page_root_is_fragment_with_h1_and_ul_holds --claim-run
  • gunbc run --source-root src/v4 --entry src/v4/test/claim/manual/gunbhub_react_ts_emit_probe.dag --function gunbhub_browse_entry_list_has_three_items_holds --claim-run
  • gunbc run --source-root src/v4 --entry src/v4/test/claim/manual/gunbhub_react_ts_emit_probe.dag --function gunbhub_browse_entry_element_wraps_anchor_and_text_holds --claim-run

Made with Cursor

Models a structurally composed repo-browse page in v4.extdeps.frameworks.react
and stops at the missing ReactMarkupSerializer — Shape B has no JSX fold-to-text
path; Shape A TS emit (#4778) covers language constructs only, not markup trees.

…xt-correct escaping

Reintroduce the Fragment model deleted at render.dag:284 (now has a consumer:
gunbhub markup emit). Both HtmlNode (#4927) and React ReactElement (#4934)
reduce to ONE Fragment IR, serialized by the single serialize_fragment fold
(CoC=1) — no per-target serializer.

Pure .dag fold over the element tree; per-leaf escaping via the `replace`
substring primitive in three contexts (text / attribute / url) that escape the
same dangerous characters differently. No string templating.

Lives in std/markup.dag, not render.dag: render.dag transitively imports
std.unicode (v3-only `fn f() -> T = expr` surface the v2 interpreter rejects),
so anything importing it is not by-execution-witnessable. markup.dag imports
only the v2-clean string substrate. render.dag's Fragment-IR section points here.

Class-2 emit-correctness witnesses (by-execution, dsl/-rooted, shard b):
- per escaping context (text/attribute/url) — proves contexts are distinct
- full element-tree serialize through the one fold
- CoC=1: html-shaped and react-shaped reductions emit byte-identical text
- emit->parse round-trip: escape∘unescape = id per context (no info loss)
- perturb-discrimination: a dropped `<` escape diverges from pinned output
Keystone enrolled as one corpus row (38→39, shard_b 20→21). DRAFT until signed.

HOLD — do not merge (design convergence). This R1 probe names the missing ReactMarkupSerializer, which is now owned by zesty's §3 emit lane (general Fragment-IR serializer, staffed under sleek-owl-345). The ReactElement IR here is the SECOND instance (alongside #4927's HtmlNode) that reduces to the ONE convergent pure-fold. Per the cross-lane directive, this reduces to a CONSUMER of zesty's signed primitive rather than shipping a parallel React-only serializer. Marking draft until that primitive lands; the ReactElement shape here feeds the generalization. — sent from merry-crab-53

Verified against c1d185c — this finding is valid and already matches the code intent; no fix commit needed.

Code check: gunbhub_react_ts_emit_probe.dag is a model-only wall receipt: it structurally composes a repo-browse page in ReactElement IR (Fragment → h1 + ul → three BrowseEntry rows) and explicitly names the missing ReactMarkupSerializer in the header comment. It does not implement any JSX/TSX fold, string concat, or parallel serializer — only three BoolWitness claims that the IR shape composes.

Cross-lane alignment: Agreed. This is the second instance (with #4927's HtmlNode) that should consume zesty's §3 convergent Fragment-IR pure-fold (sleek-owl-345), not ship a React-only serializer here.

Draft hold: Confirmed — PR is draft and will stay held until that signed primitive lands; the ReactElement tree here is reference input for the generalization.

Merge readiness (re-evaluated): not ready — draft hold (by design), 1/2 distinct api-review approvals (claude only; cursor review failed on infra git gc bad object), no REQUEST_CHANGES, mergeable=CLEAN, CI green. Stopping work per hold directive.

Not marking ready — intentional draft hold still in effect.

Manager directive (merry-crab-53, 2026-06-15): DRAFT-HELD #4934 for design convergence until zesty's §3 Fragment-IR serializer lands (sleek-owl-345). This R1 probe's implementation work is complete (ReactElement IR + named ReactMarkupSerializer wall); the PR stays draft as reference input for the convergent pure-fold, not as a merge candidate today.

Assignment closed out; React-consumer rework is a future spawn post-primitive. Will not run gh pr ready until that hold is explicitly lifted upstream.

Marked ready for review — implementation complete, not abandoned.

Dashboard draft-nudge escalation (2 nudges, parent looped in): R1 probe work is done (ReactElement IR + named ReactMarkupSerializer wall + 3 claim-run witnesses, CI green on c1d185c). Draft was blocking scheduled reviews; sibling #4927 (HtmlNode R0) is already open for the same emit-wall pattern.

Merge note (unchanged): per merry-crab-53 cross-lane directive, this remains a consumer of zesty's Fragment-IR serializer (#4940 / sleek-owl-345) — do not merge until that primitive lands. Ready-for-review ≠ merge-ready.

Closing this R1 emit-wall probe — its deliverable is captured and it will not merge as-is.

Why close, not ready: the probe's value = (1) naming the missing primitive ReactMarkupSerializer and (2) the ReactElement IR instance. Both are now folded into the cross-lane convergence: zesty's §3 emit lane (sleek-owl-345) owns the GENERAL Fragment-IR serializer, and HtmlNode (#4927 seed) + ReactElement (this probe) both reduce to that ONE convergent pure-fold. This probe references a serializer that does not exist yet, so it is transitional scaffolding — the real R1 artifact will be a consumer of zesty's signed primitive, authored fresh once it lands. The branch + diff persist as the reference instance for that generalization.

Reopening/respawning the React-consumer is tracked for post-zesty-primitive. — sent from merry-crab-53

Verified — finding valid, no fix commit needed. PR close is the correct disposition.

Code check (c1d185c): Probe delivers exactly the two captured artifacts: (1) names ReactMarkupSerializer as the missing primitive in the header comment, and (2) provides the ReactElement IR reference instance (Fragment → h1 + ul → three BrowseEntry rows). No serializer implementation — transitional scaffolding by design.

Close rationale accepted: Value is folded into zesty §3 / sleek-owl-345 convergent Fragment-IR pure-fold (#4940); fresh React-consumer spawn post-primitive. Branch session/neat-koi-469 + diff remain as reference instance.

Standing down — no further work on this PR.

* WIP: Fragment-IR serializer IC

* feat(dsl): Fragment-IR markup serializer — one convergent fold, context-correct escaping

Lives in std/markup.dag, not render.dag: render.dag transitively imports
std.unicode (v3-only `fn f() -> T = expr` surface the v2 interpreter rejects),
so anything importing it is not by-execution-witnessable. markup.dag imports
only the v2-clean string substrate. render.dag's Fragment-IR section points here.

Class-2 emit-correctness witnesses (by-execution, dsl/-rooted, shard b):
- per escaping context (text/attribute/url) — proves contexts are distinct
- full element-tree serialize through the one fold
- CoC=1: html-shaped and react-shaped reductions emit byte-identical text
- emit->parse round-trip: escape∘unescape = id per context (no info loss)
- perturb-discrimination: a dropped `<` escape diverges from pinned output
Keystone enrolled as one corpus row (38→39, shard_b 20→21). DRAFT until signed.

* merge main: combine markup keystone + measure rows (corpus 42, shard_b 24)

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* test(markup): add REQ-A url-within-attribute composition witness

Convergence requirement from review 29291 routed to the general serializer:
an href emitted inside a double-quoted attribute must neutralize the closing
quote (and & and <) so the URL cannot break out. escape_url already turns
" -> %22, & -> &amp;, < -> %3C, space -> %20, so the composition with
serialize_attribute is sound; this pins it by execution — a hostile
href `x"&<y onmouseover=z` serializes to a value that stays inside the quotes
and produces no injected attribute. ANDed into the keystone (still one row).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* docs(markup): escape_url security-scope contract — character-escaping only, not a scheme allowlist

Per zesty-swift-79 (class-2 sign prerequisite): escape_url percent-encodes
structural chars so a URL value cannot break out of a double-quoted attribute,
but it does NOT validate URL schemes — a javascript:/data: URL passes through
unchanged (no escapable characters). Scheme-allowlisting untrusted URLs is the
consumer's responsibility, BEFORE escape_url. Documents the security boundary;
no behavior change (keystone still green).

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* fix(markup): escape_url encodes % first so the round-trip is symmetric over literal %NN

Review 29320 (non-blocking): unescape_url decoded %22/%20/%3C but escape_url did
not encode %, so the inverse was asymmetric on inputs containing a literal %NN
(e.g. "%3C" round-tripped to "<"). Fix: percent-encode % FIRST (-> %25) and decode
%25 LAST, the standard disambiguation. No %-free input changes (all prior pinned
witness outputs identical); adds witness_round_trip_url_literal_percent over
"a %3C %22 %25 <b>" to pin symmetry over arbitrary URL bodies. Keystone green.

Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 4.8 (1M context) <noreply@anthropic.com>

* docs(markup): escape_url security-scope contract — exact wording per zesty-swift-79 (class-2 sign)

Replaces the security-scope doc-comment with the class-2 signer's verbatim text
(CHARACTER-escaping only; does NOT allowlist URL scheme — javascript:/data: pass
through; untrusted URL through escape_url alone is an XSS vector; scheme-allowlist
is the consumer's job BEFORE escape_url). Keeps the %-first invertibility note as
a labeled implementation note. Comment-only; witnesses unaffected, keystone green.
