Refactor/providers free tier - #2640
Conversation
Implements task 03 (Phase 1). The "Free" chip now aggregates every provider
flagged with hasFree:true across all native categories, instead of the old
hardcoded FREE_SECTION_IDS list. Providers continue to appear in their
native category (e.g. OpenRouter shows in both "API Key" and "Free"), and
free providers get a second amber dot next to the category color.
- New `CategoryDot` component renders the category dot plus an optional
free dot with tooltips ("Free tier available" / "Tier gratuito
disponível").
- `ProviderCard` uses `CategoryDot` to expose the free indicator on the
card title.
- `providers/page.tsx`: free section is now `entries.filter(hasFree)`;
text search dedupes by providerId so each provider appears once even if
it spans multiple categories; the Free section is hidden when search is
active without an explicit category to avoid visual duplication.
- 14 providers gained `hasFree: true` (80 → 94): the 7 from the original
9router cross-check (qoder, gemini-cli, kiro, amazon-q, opencode,
ollama-cloud, vertex) plus 7 found in audit (tavily/exa/serper/brave/
searxng search providers + sdwebui/comfyui local image providers).
- i18n: added `hasFreeTooltip` and `freeAggregated` in en and pt-BR.
- 5 unit tests in tests/unit/providers-free-tier-filter.test.ts cover
aggregation, overlap, dedupe, and the hasFree===undefined edge case.
…oviders-free-tier
…h API Key The amber free indicator clashed with DOT_COLORS.apikey (also amber), so an API Key provider with hasFree showed two indistinguishable amber dots. The green dot — the visual identity of "Free" — also disappeared from the free providers' cards. Switching the indicator to bg-green-500 restores the expected semantics: providers in non-Free categories now show their native color (amber/blue/purple/…) plus a clearly distinct green dot, and providers that are natively Free render two green dots that read as a single emphasis.
User feedback: the double-dot indicator confused the visual hierarchy and
the secondary color collided with the API Key category color. Simplify to a
single source of truth — every category chip shows one dot in its color,
and providers with free tier are only surfaced via the "Free Tier" section
aggregation. Rename the chip label from "Free" to "Free Tier" so it aligns
with the section heading; there is now a single concept ("Free Tier") in
the UI instead of two parallel labels.
- CategoryDot drops the hasFree / freeLabel props and always renders one dot.
- Chip uses t("freeTier") instead of tc("free") for label consistency.
- Section heading keeps the green dot via CategoryDot with single color.
- ProviderCard no longer marks per-card hasFree visually — the Free Tier
section already aggregates these providers.
- Removes dead i18n key providers.hasFreeTooltip from en + pt-BR.
…m Proxy chips
User feedback on the previous Free Tier work: the "Free" native category
was confusing because the same providers also belonged to OAuth/API Key
flows. Consolidate to a single Free Tier signal (visual green dot on any
provider with hasFree:true) and surface two missing groups in the chip
filter: No Auth (OpenCode) and Upstream Proxy (CLIProxyAPI).
Providers / structure
- New NOAUTH_PROVIDERS group holding opencode (was in FREE_PROVIDERS).
- Moved qoder, qwen, gemini-cli, kiro, amazon-q from FREE_PROVIDERS to
OAUTH_PROVIDERS, preserving every field (hasFree, deprecated, OAuth
hints, free notes, etc.).
- FREE_PROVIDERS is now {} and AI_PROVIDERS pulls from NOAUTH_PROVIDERS
instead. validateProviders runs on NOAUTH_PROVIDERS as well.
- Every callsite that did FREE_PROVIDERS[id] for noAuth detection
(auth.ts, [id]/page.tsx, HomePageClient, TierCoverageWidget,
Header, ModelSelectModal, config.ts, catalog.ts) now reads
NOAUTH_PROVIDERS.
UI
- New chip order: All / OAuth / IDE / Free Tier / No Auth / Upstream Proxy
/ API Key / Compatible / Web Cookie / Search / Audio / Local / Cloud Agent.
- CategoryDot restores the second green dot when hasFree is true so a
card surfaces "this provider has a free tier" alongside its native
category color (amber/blue/rose/...). The Free Tier chip remains a
pure single green dot since it represents the aggregation itself.
- ProviderCard forwards hasFree + the freeLabel tooltip to CategoryDot.
i18n
- Added providers.hasFreeTooltip, providers.noAuthLabel,
providers.noAuthProviders, providers.upstreamProxyLabel in en + pt-BR.
- pt-BR "freeTier" tightened from "Plano gratuito" to "Tier Gratuito" to
match the English chip label.
Tests
- providers-free-tier-filter.test.ts updated to reflect that qoder is
in OAuth (with hasFree) rather than Free. Added a regression test for
an OAuth provider with hasFree appearing in both OAuth and Free Tier
aggregations.
Promotes the previously-nested API-key sub-blocks (Aggregators, Enterprise
& Cloud, Image Providers, Embeddings & Rerank, Video Generation) to
top-level sections and reorders every section into the requested sequence:
API Key Compatible → OAuth → IDE → Web Cookie → Free Tier → API Key →
No Auth → Upstream Proxy → Aggregators Gateways → Enterprise & Cloud →
Cloud Agent → Local → Search → Embeddings & Rerank → Image → Audio →
Video Generation.
The extracted sub-blocks remain gated by showSection("apikey") since they
are still API-key-based providers — no new chip filter is introduced.
The API Key Providers parent now contains only the LLM Providers grid
plus its "Test All API Key" batch button.

Code Review
This pull request refactors provider categorization by replacing the static FREE_PROVIDERS map with a dynamic hasFree property, allowing providers to be listed in their native categories while still being aggregated in a dedicated free tier section. It introduces a 'No Auth' category, adds an 'Upstream Proxy' section, and reorganizes the providers dashboard with improved filtering and a new CategoryDot component. Feedback focuses on ensuring full internationalization by replacing hardcoded strings with translation keys, resolving visual redundancies where multiple status dots appear for free-tier providers, and maintaining color consistency by adding missing category definitions to the DOT_COLORS configuration.

To avoid redundant visual information, the "free tier available" dot should be suppressed if the primary category dot is already green (which represents the 'free' auth type).

The DOT_COLORS map is missing several categories used in the ProvidersPage summary (e.g., upstream-proxy, web-cookie, search, audio, local, cloud-agent). This causes these providers to fall back to the apikey (amber) color on their cards, creating a visual mismatch with the summary list. Please add the missing category colors for consistency.

In the "Free Tier Providers" section, passing the provider object as-is will cause ProviderCard to render a redundant green dot if provider.hasFree is true (since the main auth dot is already green for this section). While a fix in CategoryDot is recommended, ensuring the prop is handled correctly here is also an option.

Preserve API-key-capable OAuth providers in provider stats
Switching OAuth entries to buildStaticProviderEntries("oauth", ...) removes the previous aggregate path that counted non-OAuth auth types for free-tier OAuth providers. qoder is still marked as API-key-capable (FREE_APIKEY_PROVIDER_IDS), so users with qoder connections stored as authType="apikey" will now see 0 configured/connected in the Providers grid, and provider-level toggles/tests scoped by auth type will miss those connections. This is a user-visible regression in status and bulk actions for existing Qoder PAT setups.

Classify free-tier providers by free capability, not no-auth list
The tier mapping now treats tier3 as only NOAUTH_PROVIDERS, so OAuth providers that still have free access (for example qoder with hasFree: true) are counted as tier1 (“Subscription”). In environments where users connect only free-tier OAuth accounts, the widget shows incorrect free coverage and misleading inactive/add cues. This classifier should use free-tier metadata (hasFree) instead of auth bucket membership.

Add missing locale keys for new no-auth label
This new key is used unconditionally in the providers UI, but it was only added in en.json and pt-BR.json; the other locale bundles still lack providers.noAuthLabel (and related newly introduced no-auth labels). For non-English/pt-BR locales this causes missing-translation behavior on the providers page (raw/missing labels or runtime missing-message errors, depending i18n settings).

Add 14 models, validation, and dashboard UX. * fix(deepseek-web): update target_path to use challenge property * refactor(deepseek-web): streamline token handling and implement cache eviction * fix(deepseek-web): fix SSE parser, prompt format, and error handling - Handle all 3 DeepSeek SSE stream formats: initial fragments, APPEND operations, and bare string tokens (fixes truncated responses) - Simplify prompt builder to send system + last user message only (DeepSeek web API is single-turn, full history caused marker leakage) - Check json.code before token extraction (fixes "did not return access token: Authorization" on code 40003 with HTTP 200) - Clear session cache alongside token cache on auth errors - Add dev origin for remote testing Co-authored-by: Cursor styles to incorporate Fumadocs UI themes and styles. * refactor(docs): cleanup fumadocs PR — revert deepseek, add i18n fallback, restore LanguageSelector - Revert unrelated deepseek-web.ts changes (should be separate PR) - Add .source/ to .gitignore (Fumadocs generated files) - Remove contributor IP from allowedDevOrigins - Add i18n runtime fallback: reads NEXT_LOCALE cookie, loads translated .md from docs/i18n/<locale>/docs/ (preserves existing translation pipeline) - Restore LanguageSelector in Fumadocs layout nav - Restore SEO metadata (title template, description, robots) * fix(codex):
