Summary

  • sanitize operator-writable customModels rows before endpoint filtering
  • remove the noImplicitAny error in autoStrategy
  • keep well-formed chat custom models while ignoring malformed rows

Validation

  • 15 focused combo/auto-pool tests passed
  • npm run typecheck:noimplicit:core passed
  • targeted ESLint passed

Closes the release-tip noImplicitAny gate without changing runtime routing for valid rows.

Superseded by the re-cut onto the active cycle release/v3.8.52 (v3.8.51 is shipped): see the PR linked above/below from branch fix/combo-sanitize-custom-auto-models-v3852. Only the sanitize half was carried; the typing half is already on v3.8.52 via #15461.

Re-cut PR: #16069

…#16069)

Re-cut of #15803 onto the active cycle (v3.8.51 is shipped), merged as the second wave of the owner's 2026-10-09 batch. Validated together with the other two re-cuts on top of the current release/v3.8.52 tip: typecheck:core and check:open-sse-typecheck clean; ESLint + Prettier clean on all changed files; file-size gate clean (catalog.ts net 0 at its frozen ceiling); focused tests 11/11 under node:test (catalog-yield-skipped-models-9147, combo-auto-candidate-expansion) and 16/16 under vitest (lazyApiKeyDb, MCP audit, httpAuthContext). Each new regression test fails on the pre-change tip.
