Okay so here it looks like upstream raised the issue openmm/openmm#3989

So the fix must be in an unreleased version? Maybe we can patch it

Looks like the merge commit of that PR ( openmm/openmm@012188b ) suggests it was in openmm version 8.1.0

Wonder if we have an old version of openmm pinned here

The smoothest upgrade path would be to add CUDA 11.8. IOW completing this migration PR
