GCC {N-1}.3 was released recently1, which is the annual trigger for the spring compiler update. Clang 19 has already long reached its conclusion (as did clang 20 actually), but we've usually done odd versions in the spring and even version in the fall (c.f. links below)

To-Do list based on docs:

  1. where N is the most recent version, and .3 is comprehensive bugfix release for the previous major version that follows shortly afterwards.

@conda-forge/core, this is ready for review. It was already discussed in the core call 4 weeks ago, so this should mostly be a formality I hope. :)
