feat(dashboard): rank Cmd+K results by match quality instead of sidebar order (#17915) - #19175
Typing log in Cmd+K showed Log export (Integrations) and Radar Catalog (because "Catalog" contains "log") before the Logs page. The palette filtered with includes() and kept sidebar order, so the first match was whichever section came first, not the best one.
This PR scores each match and sorts:
exact page name
page name, or a word in it, starts with the query
page name contains the query
the query only appears in the subtitle, section or group name
Ties keep the shorter name first (the closer match), then sidebar order, so the same query always gives the same list. Nothing is hidden; weaker matches just come later.
With that, log and logs open on Logs, log export on Log export, proxy logs on Proxy Logs, and radar on Radar Catalog. These are the examples from the issue; I didn't add the optional page-priority metadata, since the name scoring already gets every listed case right and the issue says no particular formula is required.
One thing worth a careful look: sections used to be contiguous in the filtered list, so grouping never changed the order. Ranked results can interleave sections, and the keyboard walks filtered[selectedIndex]. To keep arrow keys honest, grouped is now built from the ranked list (sections and groups appear in the order of their best match) and filtered is the flattened display order. The new test checks data-flat-index is ascending in DOM order for log, where matches come from four sections.
Scoring only looks at the item's own text, so it works the same for translated labels.
npx vitest run tests/unit/ui/command-palette-ranking-17915.test.tsx: the ranking test failed before the change (first result for log was not Logs) and passes after; command-palette-kit.test.tsx and command-code-zdr-toggle.test.tsx still pass (11 tests across the three files)
tsc -p tsconfig.typecheck-dashboard.json is not a CI gate and already reports 87 errors on the base in files this PR does not touch (cache tests, CLI tool cards, compression studio); its output has no line for CommandPalette.tsx
eslint and prettier on the changed files, plus check-docs-sync, check:any-budget:t11, check-tracked-artifacts and check-ai-attribution
Tests Added Or Updated
tests/unit/ui/command-palette-ranking-17915.test.tsx (new, jsdom + Testing Library like the existing palette test): first result for the five queries from the issue; Log export and Radar Catalog still listed for log but after Logs; and data-flat-index ascending in DOM order with the first option selected.
Reviewer Notes
No new dependency. matchScore is a small pure function at the top of CommandPalette.tsx.
…ar order
The palette kept every substring match in sidebar order, so "log" listed
"Log export" (Integrations) and "Radar Catalog" (the substring in Catalog)
before the Logs page. Score each item: exact label, then a label or word
that starts with the query, then a label substring, then a match in the
subtitle or section names. Ties keep the shorter label first, then the
sidebar order, so results are deterministic.
Sections and subgroups now appear in the order of their best match, and the
list the keyboard walks is the flattened display order, so arrow keys and
Enter follow what is on screen.

New Features
The command palette now ranks results by relevance: exact page-name matches appear first, followed by name prefixes, name substrings, and matches in subtitles or section names.
When results have equal relevance, shorter page names appear first, with sidebar order used to break remaining ties.
Grouped results and arrow-key navigation follow the displayed ranking.
CommandPalette now ranks matching entries by match quality, label length, and original order. It groups ranked entries and assigns keyboard-navigation indexes in displayed order. A unit test checks ranking and keyboard order, and a changelog entry describes the behavior.

Add a keyboard activation check for the reordered "log" results.
The keyboard-order test name says it checks keyboard order. Its assertions read only DOM attributes (data-flat-index and aria-selected). No key event is fired. A regression that makes the keydown lookup at filtered[selectedIndex] use the pre-grouped ranked list would not change those attributes, so this test would still pass.
For the "log" query, the displayed order differs from the ranked order. The test should press ArrowDown, then Enter, and assert that the displayed second option is the item that gets activated. Use the handleNavigate target that the Enter branch produces for that item.

Treat hyphens as word boundaries in matchScore.
For the reachable German labels, CLI-Agenten currently receives the substring tier for query agenten, while Agenten-Bridge receives the higher prefix tier. This reverses the stated ranking: treating the hyphen as a boundary gives both items the prefix tier, and the shorter-label tie-break places CLI-Agenten first.
