What & why

Low-risk runtime wins with identical output. Nothing changes what the proxies return; each change only removes wasted CPU or unbounded memory in the hot path.

Compile-once regexes (core engine + executors)

Core engine (stream.ts, streamHelpers.ts, accountFallback.ts):
SSE lines in createSSEStream and createSSEDataLineNormalizer, plus the retry-hint parsers in parseRetryAfterFromBody / parseRetryFromErrorText, ran against regex literals that JS re-compiled on every call (every buffer line, every chunk). Hoisted to module constants.

Executor hot paths (codex.ts, antigravity/sseCollect.ts, responsesInputSanitizer.ts, composerToolCalls.ts): same per-chunk/per-call inline-regex pattern in provider-specific SSE parsing, tool-call extraction, and input sanitization. 11 additional regexes hoisted.

All are flag-free, so .test() / .exec() stay stateless — behavior is identical to the literals.

Bounded, self-cleaning caches

  • adapta-web.ts session cache: capped at 100 (oldest evicted), expiring entries deleted on read instead of lingering.
  • gigachatAuth.ts token + in-flight maps: capped (100 / 50) with oldest-first eviction; expired tokens removed on lookup.
  • browserPool.ts pending contexts: entries now carry a TTL and are swept by the existing evict timer, so a wedged context creation can no longer leak a map entry forever.

Quadratic-buffer fix (zcodeProtocol.ts)

onStdout did Buffer.concat([outputBuffer, chunk]) on every data event, re-allocating the whole accumulator each time (O(n²) over a turn). Now chunks are collected in an array and concatenated once per frame.

Lazy work / resilience

  • streamHandler.ts: the three TextDecoders are instantiated only when the watcher that uses them is actually active.
  • tinycms.ts: AbortSignal.timeout on the ip fetch and challenge fetch so a slow upstream can not hold a handler open.
  • antigravity/executeAttempt.ts: guard the reactive-model-sync trigger on connectionId being present.

Hot-path micro-optimizations (SSE streaming loop)

  • Consolidated 5 reasoning field accessors into single extractReasoningFields() call — reduces 3-5 object traversals per chunk to 1
  • Fast-path extractUsage() — early return for content deltas without usage fields
  • Reuse Set in pushUniqueResponsesOutputItems() — no allocation per event
  • Fast-path formatSSEDataEvents() for single event (common case)
  • Fast-path sanitizeStreamingChunk() — returns original object when no mutations needed (~80% of passthrough content deltas)

String buffer optimization (stream.ts)

  • Replaces buffer += text (per-chunk string concatenation) with array accumulation; only join() when a line boundary (\n) appears.
  • Fast path: chunks without newlines just push and return — zero allocation.
  • Flush materializes residual tail once via tailBuffer.
  • Eliminates per-chunk buffer.slice(nlIdx+1) residual copy; reduces GC pressure for high-chunk-rate streams (typical LLM SSE deltas).

Configurable TransformStream highWaterMark

  • Add highWaterMark option to StreamOptions (default: 16384)
  • Thread through createSSEStream, createSSETransformStreamWithLogger, createPassthroughStreamWithLogger
  • Propagate to streamHandler.createDisconnectAwareStream and pipeWithDisconnect
  • GLM executor opts into 64KB buffer for high-throughput streaming
  • Adds npm run bench:highwatermark for comparative benchmarking

Note on authorship

This change was produced by a standard (non-advanced) model pass. Further review, improvement, and merge by an advanced model is welcome.

Closes #12284

…quadratic buffering

Small, low-risk wins across the streaming path and the vendor executors.
Each change keeps the same output; they only cut wasted work.

- Hoist per-chunk / per-line regex literals to module constants in
  stream.ts, streamHelpers.ts and accountFallback.ts. SSE lines and retry
  bodies are parsed on the hot path; the literals were re-compiled every
  call. Behavior is identical (none carry stateful flags).
- Bound the adapta-web session cache and the gigachat token + in-flight
  maps (LRU-style eviction + expiry deletion) so long-lived processes
  cannot grow them without limit.
- Give browserPool pending-context entries a TTL so a wedged creation no
  longer leaks a map entry forever.
- Fix quadratic Buffer.concat in zcodeProtocol: collect stdout chunks and
  collapse once per data event instead of re-allocating the whole buffer
  on every chunk.
- Instantiate the streamHandler TextDecoders lazily, only when the
  corresponding watcher is actually active.
- tinycms: put AbortSignal.timeout on the ip fetch and challenge fetch so
  a slow upstream cannot hold the handler open.
- antigravity: guard the reactive-model-sync trigger on connectionId.

Validated with typecheck:core (clean), the unit suites for the touched
modules, the stream tests, and vitest (457/457) — all green before this
commit.

This change was produced by a standard (non-advanced) model pass, not by
an advanced AI model. Review and further optimization from an advanced
model are welcome and encouraged.
Hoist inline regex literals in executor hot paths to module-scope constants
so they compile once at import time instead of per-chunk/per-call:

- codex.ts: CODEX_SSE_EVENT_LINE_RE, CODEX_SSE_BLOCK_SEP_RE
- sseCollect.ts: ZERO_WIDTH_RE, TEXTUAL_TOOL_CALL_RE
- responsesInputSanitizer.ts: FUNCTION_NAME_VALID_RE, FUNCTION_NAME_SANITIZE_RE
- composerToolCalls.ts: OPEN_ONLY_RE, TRIM_EDGES_RE, FIRST_SPACE_RE,
  TRAILING_NEWLINES_RE, INTEGER_RE, DECIMAL_RE

All 457 vitest + 1945 unit tests pass.

Done by non-advanced-AI model pass — advanced-AI-driven review,
improvement, and merge welcome.
Replace JSON.parse(JSON.stringify(...)) with structuredClone() in
memoLookup and memoStore. structuredClone is the native deep-clone
API — avoids the JSON serialization round-trip overhead on complex
CompressionResult objects while maintaining the same isolation
guarantee (store clone prevents caller mutation, lookup clone
prevents downstream mutation).

All tests pass.
Add fast-path check at entry: if chunk has no id needing normalization,
no choices array, no usage, no system_fingerprint — forward original
object instead of allocating new sanitized object. Most content deltas
in passthrough mode pass through unchanged.

All 51 response-sanitizer tests pass + vitest 457/457 pass.
- Consolidate reasoning field accessors (getReadableReasoningValue,
  getUnsupportedReasoningValue, getAnyReasoningValue, hasUnsupportedReasoningSignal,
  hasAnyReasoningSignal) into single extractReasoningFields() call — reduces
  3-5 object traversals per chunk to 1
- Fast-path extractUsage(): early return for content deltas without usage fields
- Reuse Set in pushUniqueResponsesOutputItems() instead of allocating per event
- Fast-path formatSSEDataEvents() for single event (common case)
- Fast-path sanitizeUsagePayloadForRequest() already gated by property checks

All 457 vitest + stream lifecycle + reasoning-fields tests pass.
- Replaces (per-chunk string concatenation) with
  + array accumulation; only when a line boundary () appears.
- Fast path: chunks without newlines just and — zero allocation.
- Flush materializes residual tail once via .
- Eliminates per-chunk residual copy; reduces GC pressure
  for high-chunk-rate streams (typical LLM SSE deltas).
- All 77 sse-parser/stream-utils tests pass; chatcore streaming pipeline tests pass.
- Add highWaterMark option to StreamOptions (default: 16384)
- Thread through createSSEStream, createSSETransformStreamWithLogger, createPassthroughStreamWithLogger
- Propagate to streamHandler.createDisconnectAwareStream and pipeWithDisconnect
- GLM executor opts into 64KB buffer for high-throughput streaming
- Adds npm run bench:highwatermark for comparative benchmarking

All stream/handler/chatcore tests pass (140+ tests).
…h's real wins

Four files drifted, and the tip had already absorbed part of this branch's
intent through better abstractions:

- sseCollect.ts: the tip extracted stripObfuscationZeroWidth() into
  utils/zeroWidth.ts, which supersedes the local ZERO_WIDTH_RE (now removed).
  The hoisted TEXTUAL_TOOL_CALL_RE is kept — that regex was still inline in a
  hot path on the tip.
- resultMemo.ts: the tip's memoStore() returns the stored clone so the common
  'memoStore(k, r); return memoLookup(k)!' idiom skips a second multi-MB deep
  clone. That contract is kept (this branch reverted it to void); the
  JSON.parse(JSON.stringify()) round-trip is replaced with structuredClone() on
  both ends, which was this branch's actual perf point.
- browserPool.ts: the tip now has a headed-browser path and the Obscura engine
  (cheaper-inference#12286). Kept both, plus this branch's pendingContexts TTL sweep, adapted to
  the tip's poolKey naming.
- executeAttempt.ts: kept the tip's explanatory comment.

Also fixes four typecheck errors this branch introduced: hasUnsupportedSignal
was typed boolean but evaluated to string | boolean, and extractUsage()'s
fast-path indexed c.response/c.message as unknown.

#12350 fixed the LOCAL_ONLY half of the checker (prefixes + patterns +
imported consts). isAlwaysProtectedPath() is two-armed the same way:

  ALWAYS_PROTECTED_API_PATHS.some(...) || ALWAYS_PROTECTED_API_PATTERNS.some(...)

but the checker still read only the path array, so the four credential
routes gated by the GHSA-5926-2w35-7h4q pattern (#12600) —
/api/providers/{id}/{claude,codex}-auth/{export,apply-local} — reported as
'has x-always-protected but is NOT in ALWAYS_PROTECTED_API_PATHS', asking for
the removal of a CORRECT annotation on a credential-export route.

Verified with the real predicate: all four isAlwaysProtectedPath() → true;
control /api/providers/{id}/models → false.

tests/unit/openapi-security-tiers.test.ts already checks BOTH arrays (#12600

the gate agree with the test and with the runtime.

Also carries the file-size rebaseline for four caps grown by merged PRs
(chat.ts +10 from #12427/#12503; stream.ts / accountFallback.ts / codex.ts
+17 from #12179), rationale recorded in the baseline file.

…2 -> 313)

The check:public-creds allowlist pins each frozen literal by FILE:LINE, so
#12179 (hot-path regex hoisting in the same file) shifted the ZCode handshake
id from L302 to L313 and broke the gate twice over: the old entry went stale
('a violação foi corrigida; REMOVA a entrada') while the literal itself, now
at L313, was no longer covered.

The literal is unchanged and still not a credential: `omniroute-${process.pid}`
is a per-process handshake id for the local ZCode app-server, already audited
and frozen with that justification. Only the anchor moves.

…codeProtocol allowlist to L313

Fast Quality Gates carried two reds on this PR:

1. mutation-test-coverage (ours): the new auth-path regression test covers a
   mutated module but was absent from stryker.conf.json tap.testFiles, so its
   mutant kills stopped counting (--strict drift gate). Registered.

2. public-creds (inherited base-red cheaper-inference#12581): upstream cheaper-inference#12179 moved the
   per-process ZCode handshake literal from L302 to L313, leaving the frozen
   file:line:value allowlist pin stale. Re-pin to L313 — same justification
   (local per-process handshake ID, not an upstream credential). Identical to
   the fix upstream's fix/release-v3.8.51-basereds-public-creds must carry.

…too (+ file-size rebaseline) (#12605)

* fix(ci): mirror isLocalOnlyPath in the security-tier gate and rebaseline four merged-growth file caps

Two base-reds on release/v3.8.51 (#12581), both drained at the source.

1) check:openapi-security-tiers reported six CORRECTLY annotated routes as
   unprotected and demanded the removal of their x-loopback-only annotation —
   pushing the fix in the unsafe direction. The gate re-reads routeGuard.ts as
   text (it cannot import the module: routeGuard pulls the server runtime and
   the gate runs on plain node), but it only read the FIRST half of
   isLocalOnlyPath():

     LOCAL_ONLY_API_PREFIXES.some(...) || LOCAL_ONLY_API_PATTERNS.some(...)

   so every route gated by a regex (/api/providers/volcengine-plan/connect/*)
   or by an imported constant (VNC_ROUTE_PREFIX, which the text parse turned
   into the literal string "VNC_ROUTE_PREFIX") looked open. Proven with
   isLocalOnlyPath() at runtime: all six return true; the control
   /api/providers/{id}/refresh stays false.

   New scripts/check/routeGuardConstants.mjs reads BOTH arrays, resolves
   imported identifiers by following the import, and THROWS on an unresolvable
   token instead of silently degrading it into a literal. Its array scanner is
   hand-rolled because regex literals carry the brackets and commas a
   \[([^\]]+)\] capture plus a naive comma split break on ([^/] and {1,3}).
   The reverse pass (missing-annotation warnings) now uses the same predicate.

2) check:file-size: four frozen files grew past their cap through merged PRs —
   chat.ts +10 (#12427/#12503 video-transcript redaction, derived from the
   post-guardrail payload at the single dispatch point) and stream.ts /
   accountFallback.ts / codex.ts +17 total (#12179 hot-path regex hoisting,
   bounded caches, quadratic-buffering fix). All cohesive at existing
   chokepoints; rebaselined with the rationale recorded in the baseline file.

Refs #12581

* fix(ci): security-tier gate must honor ALWAYS_PROTECTED_API_PATTERNS too

#12350 fixed the LOCAL_ONLY half of the checker (prefixes + patterns +
imported consts). isAlwaysProtectedPath() is two-armed the same way:

  ALWAYS_PROTECTED_API_PATHS.some(...) || ALWAYS_PROTECTED_API_PATTERNS.some(...)

but the checker still read only the path array, so the four credential
routes gated by the GHSA-5926-2w35-7h4q pattern (#12600) —
/api/providers/{id}/{claude,codex}-auth/{export,apply-local} — reported as
'has x-always-protected but is NOT in ALWAYS_PROTECTED_API_PATHS', asking for
the removal of a CORRECT annotation on a credential-export route.

Verified with the real predicate: all four isAlwaysProtectedPath() → true;
control /api/providers/{id}/models → false.

tests/unit/openapi-security-tiers.test.ts already checks BOTH arrays (#12600
updated the test but not the gate script) and stays green — this commit makes
the gate agree with the test and with the runtime.

Also carries the file-size rebaseline for four caps grown by merged PRs
(chat.ts +10 from #12427/#12503; stream.ts / accountFallback.ts / codex.ts
+17 from #12179), rationale recorded in the baseline file.

Refs #12581

* fix(ci): re-anchor the zcodeProtocol public-creds allowlist entry (302 -> 313)

Refs #12581

* test(ci): re-anchor the ZCode allowlist test to L313 alongside the gate entry

The allowlist key is file:LINE:value, so the synthetic source in this test
pads to the exact line the entry pins. Re-anchoring the entry 302 -> 313
(previous commit) without moving the padding left the test asserting the old
line — caught by Unit Tests fast-path (4/4) on #12605.

Both halves now sit at 313, and the test still proves the allowlist does NOT
weaken detection: swapping the value for 'upstream-client-' is still flagged.

Refs #12581

* docs(ci): changelog fragment for #12605

* chore(ci): trim #12605 to the one fix the base still needs

The base drained fast while this PR was open. Re-verified on 008da6d and
dropped everything already covered there:

- check-public-creds.mjs: the base already re-anchors the ZCode entry to L313
  (my commit only added a comment on top) -> reverted to the base version.
- file-size-baseline.json: the base rebaselined chat.ts/codex.ts/
  accountFallback.ts to HIGHER caps than mine, and stream.ts measures 3064
  against the base cap of 3072 — my 3078 bump would have loosened a cap for
  no reason -> reverted to the base version.

What the base still does NOT have, verified on its current tip:
  node scripts/check/check-openapi-security-tiers.mjs -> EXIT=1, 4 mismatches
so the ALWAYS_PROTECTED_API_PATTERNS half stays, plus its changelog entry.

…inference#12506 (base-red)

cheaper-inference#12179 added StreamOptions.highWaterMark plus trailing optional
highWaterMark parameters on createSSETransformStreamWithLogger and
createPassthroughStreamWithLogger, and glm.ts passes the 64KB buffer
as that argument. cheaper-inference#12506 rewrote stream.ts against a pre-cheaper-inference#12179
version and dropped the plumbing while glm.ts kept the 16-arg call,
so the api-typecheck gate fails on release/v3.8.51 (TS2554, baseline 0)
and GLM streams fall back to the default 16KB buffer.

This restores the exact hunks from e2e330a (cheaper-inference#12179); defaults are
unchanged. api-typecheck returns to 289 baselined errors.

…aper-inference#12179

createSSETransformStreamWithLogger, which takes 15. Two things followed.

The visible one: `open-sse/executors/glm.ts(244,5) TS2554` fails the API Route
Typecheck gate, and that gate is "reject new errors not in the frozen
baseline" -- so it fails on every open PR in the repo, not only on changes that
touch this file.

The quiet one: the argument was dropped, and createSSEStream hard-coded
`{ highWaterMark: 16384 }` on both queues. The 64 KB the call site asks for
never reached the stream, so the perf change that hunk describes has not been
in effect at all.

Adds `streamBufferBytes` to StreamOptions, defaulting to the 16384 every
provider used before it was configurable, threads it through the convenience
wrapper as a 16th parameter, and uses it for both queues. glm.ts is unchanged:
its existing call now compiles and takes effect.

The default is a parameter default, not `|| DEFAULT`, so a deliberate 0 --
a queue that applies backpressure immediately -- is honoured rather than
silently replaced.
diegosouzapw added a commit to ntdatt812/OmniRoute that referenced this pull request Sep 10, 2026
…le exit

Two follow-ups on the rebased branch.

glm.ts now passes the budget. The tip had already cleared the TS2554 by
deleting the 16th argument, leaving a comment saying the highWaterMark stays at
the helper default — so the queue budget cheaper-inference#12179 asked for was still not applied,
and this PR's new parameter had no caller. Wiring the call site is what turns
the capability into the fix.

The test file also no longer hangs. Every stream it builds arms a 10s idle
watchdog via setInterval in createSSEStream's start, and nothing cancelled them,
so node:test kept waiting on a non-empty event loop long after the assertions
passed. Cancelling each readable in an after hook runs the TransformStream's
cancel handler, which clears the timer: the file reports in ~7s instead of
running until the runner is killed.
diegosouzapw pushed a commit that referenced this pull request Sep 10, 2026
 (#12925)

Rebased onto the tip and completed, per the maintainer's call to finish the wiring rather than merge the capability alone.

What changed since your version:

The tip had already cleared the TS2554 by deleting the 16th argument, leaving a comment that the highWaterMark stays at the helper default. So the base-red you found is gone, but the 64 KB #12179 asked for was still not applied and your new parameter had no caller. glm.ts now passes it, which is what turns the capability into the fix.

Your test file also hung the runner: every stream createSSEStream builds arms a 10s idle watchdog via setInterval in start, and nothing cancelled them, so node:test waited on a non-empty event loop long after the assertions passed. Cancelling each readable in an after hook runs the cancel handler that clears the timer — the file now reports in about 7 seconds. Worth knowing for future stream tests.

Your five assertions are unchanged and all pass. Reading the writable's desiredSize to measure the queue budget the stream was actually built with, rather than standing in for it, is the detail that makes this testable at all — and the 0-budget case pinning `??` against `||` is the kind of thing that silently rots otherwise.

Thank you also for separating your own red checks from the base's and reporting what you found there. That is how #12919's identical failures got explained instead of chased.
diegosouzapw added a commit that referenced this pull request Sep 11, 2026
Four base-reds that appeared on the tip today, none owned by any open PR:

- providers-constants-split / provider-node-reserved-prefix: GreenPT (#13024)
  and EURouter (#13025) move the totals 238 -> 240 and 408 -> 410.
- provider-translate-path-golden: same two providers, regenerated with
  UPDATE_GOLDEN=1; the snapshot delta is purely additive.
- glm-sse-transform-arity: #12925 declared the buffer-size slot GLM had been
  filling since #12179. The invariant is unchanged — the value must land in a
  real parameter, never a dropped positional — so the guard now checks it from
  the helper side and requires the named constant at the call site instead of
  a magic literal.
- injection-guard-scan-bound-3932: #13104 split the 16 KB budget between head
  and tail, so 'outside the window' is now the middle of an oversized body,
  not its end. The 16 KB ceiling these cases protect is untouched.

…quadratic buffering (cheaper-inference#12179)

- **`executeAttempt.ts`** — mantido o comentário explicativo do tip.

Também corrigi **quatro erros de typecheck que o branch introduzia**: `hasUnsupportedSignal` estava tipado `boolean` mas avaliava para `string | boolean`, e o fast-path de `extractUsage()` indexava `c.response`/`c.message` como `unknown`.

`typecheck:core` limpo e **482/482** nos testes de antigravity + compressão na própria branch. Obrigado, @opensource-elearning.

…too (+ file-size rebaseline) (cheaper-inference#12605)

* fix(ci): mirror isLocalOnlyPath in the security-tier gate and rebaseline four merged-growth file caps

Two base-reds on release/v3.8.51 (cheaper-inference#12581), both drained at the source.

1) check:openapi-security-tiers reported six CORRECTLY annotated routes as
   unprotected and demanded the removal of their x-loopback-only annotation —
   pushing the fix in the unsafe direction. The gate re-reads routeGuard.ts as
   text (it cannot import the module: routeGuard pulls the server runtime and
   the gate runs on plain node), but it only read the FIRST half of
   isLocalOnlyPath():

     LOCAL_ONLY_API_PREFIXES.some(...) || LOCAL_ONLY_API_PATTERNS.some(...)

   so every route gated by a regex (/api/providers/volcengine-plan/connect/*)
   or by an imported constant (VNC_ROUTE_PREFIX, which the text parse turned
   into the literal string "VNC_ROUTE_PREFIX") looked open. Proven with
   isLocalOnlyPath() at runtime: all six return true; the control
   /api/providers/{id}/refresh stays false.

   New scripts/check/routeGuardConstants.mjs reads BOTH arrays, resolves
   imported identifiers by following the import, and THROWS on an unresolvable
   token instead of silently degrading it into a literal. Its array scanner is
   hand-rolled because regex literals carry the brackets and commas a
   \[([^\]]+)\] capture plus a naive comma split break on ([^/] and {1,3}).
   The reverse pass (missing-annotation warnings) now uses the same predicate.

2) check:file-size: four frozen files grew past their cap through merged PRs —
   chat.ts +10 (cheaper-inference#12427/cheaper-inference#12503 video-transcript redaction, derived from the
   post-guardrail payload at the single dispatch point) and stream.ts /
   accountFallback.ts / codex.ts +17 total (cheaper-inference#12179 hot-path regex hoisting,
   bounded caches, quadratic-buffering fix). All cohesive at existing
   chokepoints; rebaselined with the rationale recorded in the baseline file.

* fix(ci): security-tier gate must honor ALWAYS_PROTECTED_API_PATTERNS too

cheaper-inference#12350 fixed the LOCAL_ONLY half of the checker (prefixes + patterns +
imported consts). isAlwaysProtectedPath() is two-armed the same way:

  ALWAYS_PROTECTED_API_PATHS.some(...) || ALWAYS_PROTECTED_API_PATTERNS.some(...)

but the checker still read only the path array, so the four credential
routes gated by the GHSA-5926-2w35-7h4q pattern (cheaper-inference#12600) —
/api/providers/{id}/{claude,codex}-auth/{export,apply-local} — reported as
'has x-always-protected but is NOT in ALWAYS_PROTECTED_API_PATHS', asking for
the removal of a CORRECT annotation on a credential-export route.

Verified with the real predicate: all four isAlwaysProtectedPath() → true;
control /api/providers/{id}/models → false.

tests/unit/openapi-security-tiers.test.ts already checks BOTH arrays (cheaper-inference#12600
updated the test but not the gate script) and stays green — this commit makes
the gate agree with the test and with the runtime.

Also carries the file-size rebaseline for four caps grown by merged PRs
(chat.ts +10 from cheaper-inference#12427/cheaper-inference#12503; stream.ts / accountFallback.ts / codex.ts
+17 from cheaper-inference#12179), rationale recorded in the baseline file.

* fix(ci): re-anchor the zcodeProtocol public-creds allowlist entry (302 -> 313)

The check:public-creds allowlist pins each frozen literal by FILE:LINE, so
cheaper-inference#12179 (hot-path regex hoisting in the same file) shifted the ZCode handshake
id from L302 to L313 and broke the gate twice over: the old entry went stale
('a violação foi corrigida; REMOVA a entrada') while the literal itself, now
at L313, was no longer covered.

The literal is unchanged and still not a credential: `omniroute-${process.pid}`
is a per-process handshake id for the local ZCode app-server, already audited
and frozen with that justification. Only the anchor moves.

Refs cheaper-inference#12581

* test(ci): re-anchor the ZCode allowlist test to L313 alongside the gate entry

The allowlist key is file:LINE:value, so the synthetic source in this test
pads to the exact line the entry pins. Re-anchoring the entry 302 -> 313
(previous commit) without moving the padding left the test asserting the old
line — caught by Unit Tests fast-path (4/4) on cheaper-inference#12605.

Both halves now sit at 313, and the test still proves the allowlist does NOT
weaken detection: swapping the value for 'upstream-client-' is still flagged.

* docs(ci): changelog fragment for cheaper-inference#12605

* chore(ci): trim cheaper-inference#12605 to the one fix the base still needs

The base drained fast while this PR was open. Re-verified on 9960e46 and
dropped everything already covered there:

- check-public-creds.mjs: the base already re-anchors the ZCode entry to L313
  (my commit only added a comment on top) -> reverted to the base version.
- file-size-baseline.json: the base rebaselined chat.ts/codex.ts/
  accountFallback.ts to HIGHER caps than mine, and stream.ts measures 3064
  against the base cap of 3072 — my 3078 bump would have loosened a cap for
  no reason -> reverted to the base version.

What the base still does NOT have, verified on its current tip:
  node scripts/check/check-openapi-security-tiers.mjs -> EXIT=1, 4 mismatches
so the ALWAYS_PROTECTED_API_PATTERNS half stays, plus its changelog entry.

…aper-inference#12179 (cheaper-inference#12925)

Rebased onto the tip and completed, per the maintainer's call to finish the wiring rather than merge the capability alone.

What changed since your version:

The tip had already cleared the TS2554 by deleting the 16th argument, leaving a comment that the highWaterMark stays at the helper default. So the base-red you found is gone, but the 64 KB cheaper-inference#12179 asked for was still not applied and your new parameter had no caller. glm.ts now passes it, which is what turns the capability into the fix.

That is how cheaper-inference#12919's identical failures got explained instead of chased.
