What happened?

Use a index.ts file with unsorted imports, and necessary formatting
run biome format index.ts -> see diff output
run cat index.ts | biome format --stdin-file-path=file.ts -> see the result of that diff in standard output
try the previous two steps with check instead of format -> The first output is as expected. But the pipe output makes no sense! It is one part original (unchanged) standard output, and second part the previous format diff.

Expected result

To get just the standard output of both diffs applied.

I am using the biome format --stdin-file-path to format code in helix for a while, this works well. But I tried to add also import sorting today. And to have that working, I would expect to just change the word format to check and get the same standardized output when providing the --stdin-file-path - the official docs say the same.

I believe you're talking about something in particular, but without a visual aid we can't understand what you're referring to

To get just the standard output of both diffs applied.

If you run cat index.ts | biome check --stdin-file-path=file.ts in the terminal, in the stdout you SHOULD get only text that shows how the result would look like. This is for LSP purposes. That is also how the format command works.
But instead you get a diff.

For example, the filename `안녕하세요` is now accepted. We still reject a name that mixes unicase characters with lowercase or uppercase characters. For example, the filename `A안녕하세요` is rejected. This change also fixes [#3353](biomejs/biome#3353). Filenames consisting only of numbers are now accepted. Biome now recognizes this syntax. `slug` must contain only alphanumeric characters. An empty `export {}` allows you to force TypeScript to consider a file with no imports and exports as an EcmaScript module. While `export type {}` is valid, it is more common to use `export {}`. Users may find it confusing that the linter asks them to convert it to `export type {}`. Also, a bundler should be able to remove `export {}` as well as `export type {}`. So it is not so useful to report `export {}`. In JavaScript strict mode, function declarations are lexically scoped: they cannot be accessed outside the block where they are declared. In non-strict mode, function declarations are hoisted to the top of the enclosing function or global scope. Previously Biome always hoisted function declarations. It now takes into account whether the code is in strict or non strict mode.
