[Medium impact] The PR appears safe to merge, with no new actionable issues found. SummaryCarries descendant peers through packages that declare their own peers, bringing snapshot keys closer to pnpm 11.
No new actionable issues were found in the changes since the previous review. The earlier threads were checked against the current code; none supplied a Comment number requiring a ledger entry. 1401-1413: 🚀 Performance & Scalability | 🔵 Trivial | 💤 Low valueSkip nested rewriting for unsuffixed keys.
This loop runs in fresh resolves and in the install peer-context path. It visits every package key, while
nestedcontains one pair for each rewrite. The parenthesis fast path avoids unnecessary scans for ordinary keys. The per-pair
containsguard is not a clear improvement. It adds a scan and scans matching entries again beforereplace. Keep that guard only if a benchmark shows a benefit.♻️ Suggested fix

🟡 Minor · Bound nested rewrites by graph depth, not 16 passes. · peer_context.rs:1131-1157
crates/aube-resolver/src/peer_context.rs:1131-1157
🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winBound nested rewrites by graph depth, not 16 passes.
apply_peer_contextsaccepts graphs without a 16-level dependency limit and calls this post-pass after the main fixed-point loop. The code documents that each pass can propagate one nested suffix. A chain deeper than 16 can therefore leave stale nested references when this loop exits. The existing tests require rewritten nested references, so this can produce inconsistent package keys and dependency tails.
Suggested fix
-const MAX_NESTED_REWRITE_PASSES: usize = 16; ... -for _ in 0..MAX_NESTED_REWRITE_PASSES { +for _ in 0..=pkg_keys.len() {This is separate from raw-key-length ordering. Correct substitution ordering does not prevent the bounded loop from stopping before convergence.

🟡 Minor · Record inherited peers before skipping a hashed key. · peer_context.rs:1394
crates/aube-resolver/src/peer_context.rs:1394
🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick winRecord inherited peers before skipping a hashed key.
If a package already has a hashed self-suffix and its dependency resolves an additional peer, the hashed-key branch at Line 1381 skips this recording step. The package keeps its key but loses the resolved descendant peer from
transitive_peer_dependencies. The later transitive-peer pass merges recorded names; it derives other names from unresolved peers, so it cannot restore this one. Record inherited names independently of whether the key can be rewritten. (github.com)🤖 Prompt for AI Agents

Instruction countsNothing was compared, and so nothing was gated. No series appears on both sides: either the base has no measurements recorded, or the two were measured on different runner classes, which are deliberately not comparable — counts shift between machine types by more than a real regression does. New, nothing to compare against: Only instruction counts gate. Wall clock is shown for context — on identical hardware it moves 4-20% run to run. Measured by tak — instruction-counted CLI benchmarks, stored in this repository's git notes.

Follow-up to #1793 for difference #2 of discussion #1779. aube-written
pnpm-lock.yamlsnapshots left out peers that pnpm 11 carries on a package because one of its dependencies needs them, so Dependabot (which runs pnpm) rewrote those keys.Problem
pnpm 11 puts a peer resolved from above into every ancestor's snapshot key, even when the ancestor declares peers of its own. aube only did that for ancestors with no declared peers, and it also dropped a flat peer when an own peer's nested segment mentioned the same name.
With
autoInstallPeers: falseand@ai-sdk/react@4.0.138,ai@7.0.135andzod@^4in one importer:zodis only a peer of its child@ai-sdk/mcp. The same applies to@testing-library/react@14.0.0(@types/react@…)(react-dom@…)(react@…), where@types/reactcomes from the child@types/react-dom.Changes
(ai@7(zod@4))) is still listed flat when a descendant needs it.transitivePeerDependencies:lists those inherited peers (zod,@types/react), as pnpm does.Existing aube-written lockfiles shift once on the next resolve for affected packages. Lockfiles are read as-is, so frozen installs keep working.
