• pins astro and @astrojs/cloudflare to exact versions (drops the ^ ranges)
• bumps audit overrides (brace-expansion 5.0.12, devalue 5.9.4, dompurify 3.4.16, new http-cache-semantics 4.3.0)
• pulls in posthog-js 1.435.9 and web-vitals 6.x through the lockfile

That's the repo-wide npm audit fix, and it belongs in #1573 (the deps PR), not in a footer chrome removal. Bundling it here widens the blast radius of a UI PR, changes the shipped PostHog SDK under a footer title, and invalidates the reviewed tip. Not marking ready, not squashing.

@jules please do exactly this and nothing else:

1. Restore package.json and package-lock.json to their exact contents on main (9ff88fc1), so the PR diff is again only src/components/Footer.astro and src/__tests__/identity.test.ts.

Finn performance gate, tip 4bd8292b: REGRESSION (client JS), revert the lockfile

The footer change itself (8aa771bf) is still a perf win: less client JS and one fewer /api/visits request on every page. The second commit undoes part of that. Its lockfile refresh upgrades the PostHog SDK that ships to visitors, posthog-js 1.417.1 → 1.435.9, along with web-vitals 5.3.0 → 6.2.2.

Evidence

• Preview vs prod network (Lighthouse mobile, 88307128 preview vs prod 9ff88fc1, home /):
  • PostHog chunk _astro/module.*.js: 80.9 KB → 98.5 KB transfer (+17.6 KB, +22%), 240 KB → 293 KB uncompressed (+53 KB to parse and run on the main thread).
  • PostHog CDN extension: web-vitals.js 3.2 KB becomes web-vitals-with-attribution.js 7.4 KB (+4.2 KB).
  • Total script transfer: 223 KB → 245 KB (+22 KB, about +10%), even with the visit-count script removed.
• Isolated bundle check (esbuild, minified ESM, import posthog from 'posthog-js'): 1.417.1 is 248 KB raw / 82 KB gzip. 1.435.9 is 312 KB raw / 102 KB gzip (+24%).
• Lab scores: one run each. Preview 97 / FCP 1.8 s / LCP 2.1 s / TBT 40 ms; prod 73 / FCP 2.9 s / LCP 5.2 s / TBT 50 ms. PostHog loads on idle, so these single runs don't show the cost, and the prod numbers are box CPU noise. The cost is extra parse/eval on mid-tier phones after load, which competes with the first tap (INP). No Lighthouse score hides that.

Ask: this agrees with the owner review above. Restore package.json and package-lock.json to main exactly. If the PostHog SDK bump is wanted, it belongs in #1573 with its own size check. The gate re-checks automatically on the next push. Never merging from here.
