Reuse endpoint and route isolation (ai-dynamo#2174), descriptor and request handling (ai-dynamo#2175), completion error propagation (ai-dynamo#2177), and safe resource lifetime (ai-dynamo#2178). Preserve the existing QP CUDA device guard and add the GID selector from ai-dynamo#2052 for reproducible fabric configuration. No transport performance features. Narrowed to four CPU regressions at 3e60e24; the production error/notification changes are already in #2290. The tests pass without the GPUNETIO plugin or SDK and cover error-latch mapping and notification slot/address/wrap/peer-counter behavior. Separately, real READ and WRITE remote-access CQE failures on main/DOCA 3.5.0098 propagated NIXL_ERR_BACKEND without timeout; checkXfer/postXfer/getNotifs/genNotif all returned failure afterward. This is data-CQ error evidence, not a claim that notification-CQ fault injection or GPU polling is proven by the CPU tests. |
|
We ported this PR's production notification-slot and CQE/error-propagation fixes into #2290, which is now merged. The remaining diff is regression tests only. Closing this PR for now to avoid a separate test-only review; the branch and validation evidence remain available if focused coverage is requested later. |
What?
Retain the GPUNETIO completion/error regression tests on current main. #2290
absorbed the production error/notification changes, so this update is test-only.
Why?
The GPU error latch must become a host-visible backend failure, and notification
slot allocation must return the slot matching the payload address, including
wraparound. Main contains the helpers but not the focused regression coverage.
How?
Four CPU GoogleTests cover zero/nonzero error status, matching notification
slot/address, buffer guards across wrap, and independent peer counters. The
target has no GPUNETIO/DOCA/CUDA dependency and remains available when the
optional plugin is disabled.
Validation
one application-owned MR. Both READ and WRITE produced a real remote-access
CQE error and returned
NIXL_ERR_BACKENDwithout a timeout. SubsequentcheckXfer, postXfer, getNotifsandgenNotifalso returned backend failure.do not claim injected notification-CQ producer coverage. The CPU tests alone
do not prove GPU-side CQ polling.
Reproduce the regression target with GoogleTest/GoogleMock installed:
meson setup build --buildtype=debugoptimized -Denable_plugins=POSIX \ -Dbuild_tests=true -Dbuild_examples=false meson test -C build --print-errorlogs -v gpunetio_completion_statusNo production, performance or ABI change is included. No dependency on the
frozen integration/performance stack is required.
