Moves the XPU and CPU images to vLLM v0.33.0, to go with #17862 (CUDA).

Depends on #17862. vLLM 0.33 needs #17862's frontend FrontendArgs fix and its KV-event default; this PR only moves the XPU and CPU images. Kept as a draft until #17862 merges.

File Change
container/context.yaml vllm.xpu vllm/vllm-openai-xpu v0.32.0 → v0.33.0; baseline_sbom → vllm-openai-xpu@be3a9aea; Transformers 5.19.0 / tokenizers 0.23.2
container/context.yaml vllm.cpu vllm/vllm-openai-cpu v0.32.0 → v0.33.0; Transformers 5.19.0 / tokenizers 0.23.2
container/context.yaml vllm.vllm_omni_ref (XPU + CPU) v0.32.0rc1 → v0.33.0rc1, the release #17862 now uses for CUDA
container/compliance/base_sboms/manifest.json + vllm-openai-xpu@be3a9aea-amd64.cdx.json XPU baseline re-captured for v0.33.0 (sha256:be3a9aea)

Why the Transformers pins: vLLM 0.33 needs transformers>=5.16.1,<5.21 and tokenizers>=0.23.2. vLLM-Omni v0.33.0rc1 still caps transformers<5.20, and both v0.33.0 images ship 5.20.2. install_vllm_omni.sh freezes the installed version as a constraint, so without the pin the Omni install can't resolve.

Move vllm.xpu to vllm/vllm-openai-xpu:v0.33.0 and vllm.cpu to
vllm/vllm-openai-cpu:v0.33.0, matching the CUDA bump in ai-dynamo#17862.

- XPU baseline SBOM: re-captured for the v0.33.0 image
(vllm-openai-xpu@be3a9aea); the manifest row moves from v0.32.0 /
  sha256:20509fab to v0.33.0 / sha256:be3a9aea.
- Transformers 5.19.0 / tokenizers 0.23.2 on XPU and CPU: vLLM 0.33
requires transformers >=5.16.1,<5.21 and tokenizers >=0.23.2, while
vLLM-Omni still caps transformers <5.20 and the v0.33.0 images ship
5.20.2. install_vllm_omni.sh freezes the installed version as a
constraint, so without the pin the Omni install cannot resolve.
- vllm_omni_ref (shared by XPU and CPU): vllm-omni#9648's head fe886bbb,
the same unreleased commit ai-dynamo#17862 uses for CUDA. Omni 0.32.x imports
FrontendArgs from vllm.entrypoints.launchers.cli_args, which vLLM 0.33
  moved to vllm.entrypoints.common.cli_args.
- NIXL stays at v1.5.0 for XPU; the vLLM 0.33 NIXL connector refuses
  older versions.

Depends on ai-dynamo#17862: the <version>+g<sha> vllm_omni_ref form needs its
install_vllm_omni.sh change.

Walkthrough

The CPU and XPU container configurations now use vLLM 0.33 runtime images and pin Transformers and tokenizers versions. The XPU baseline SBOM entry and the Omni reference are also updated.

Changes

vLLM 0.33 container configuration

Layer / File(s) Summary
Update runtime images and references
container/context.yaml, container/compliance/base_sboms/manifest.json
The CPU and XPU runtime image tags change to v0.33.0, and both configurations pin Transformers to 5.19.0 and tokenizers to 0.23.2. The XPU SBOM entry uses the updated digest. The Omni reference changes to an unreleased vLLM 0.33 development commit. The XPU NIXL and UCX references remain unchanged. The CPU base image and NIXL references remain unchanged.

Explanation

The description gives a clear overview of the change: moving the XPU and CPU images to vLLM v0.33.0 to match the CUDA update in #17862. It includes a per-file change table, the reason for the Transformers pins, and a dependency note. It does not follow the template headings (Overview, Key Changes, Validation, Issues and Ongoing Work). It has no Validation section, so there is no evidence that the images were built or tested. It has no 'Closes #XXXX' issue link. The Pull Request Checklist item (use of Dynamo's /pr-checklist skill) is not ticked. The core content is present, but the required template sections are missing.

Resolution

Restructure the description to follow the repository template. Add these sections: 'Overview' (the purpose and the #17862 dependency), 'Key Changes' (the existing per-file table can move here), 'Validation' (state how the XPU and CPU images were built or tested, including the XPU SBOM re-capture and the install_vllm_omni.sh resolution), and 'Issues and Ongoing Work' (state the draft status and the wait on #17862). Add a 'Closes #XXXX' line or state the related issue. Tick or address the Pull Request Checklist item.

Include the Omni installer change before merging.

The current install_vllm_omni.sh passes this ref to PyPI as an exact version. That version is not published, so CPU and XPU runtime builds fail at the Omni install step. (raw.githubusercontent.com)

Merge or include the installer change from #17862 first, as noted in the PR objectives.

vllm-omni#9648 merged and v0.33.0rc1 is published on PyPI, the release
ai-dynamo#17862 now uses for CUDA. Point the shared vllm_omni_ref (XPU and CPU) at
it instead of the unreleased 0.33.0.dev0+gfe886bbb commit, which the
current install_vllm_omni.sh would look for on PyPI.

v0.33.0rc1 still caps transformers <5.20, so the Transformers 5.19.0 /
tokenizers 0.23.2 pins stay; their comments now name v0.33.0rc1.
