feat(global-frontend): keep sessionless conversations on one pool - #17886
The Global Frontend's affinity policy keeps a conversation on one pool only when the client sends x-dynamo-session-id. Any other client's conversation is placed afresh on every turn, and loses its pool's KV cache whenever placement moves.
With this PR, two more cases keep their pool:
Coding agents. Claude Code, Codex and OpenCode send their own session headers, and the Global Frontend now reads them as the Dynamo frontend already does.
Requests with no session header. The session is derived from the request's input, the way the tokenizer cache keys prompt prefixes.
One pass over Anthropic system and each messages or Responses input item gives a key per input prefix.
A Responses string input counts as a user message.
An element is keyed by the set of its text values: the sum of their xxh3 hashes, without field names, structure or order. cache_control, reasoning fields, and objects of type reasoning, thinking or redacted_thinking don't count. So clients that reorder or rewrite those in messages they send again keep their keys.
Elements whose values differ only in arrangement collide; at worst a request routes with another conversation.
A key becomes a session ID with a reserved control-character prefix (\u{1}px:), which a header value cannot contain.
affinity.rs: a request without a named session probes the session IDs of its strict prefixes, deepest first, at most 16. It then pins its full input's ID in the existing pin table.
Strict prefixes only: identical first turns, or requests that share only a system prompt, are each placed on their own instead of piling onto one pool.
Derived pins are capped at about 1M, checked against the count taken at each 60 s sweep, so the request path never locks the whole table.
proxy.rs: the session comes from session_affinity_from_headers, with the same precedence as the Dynamo frontend.
The body parse borrows system, messages and input as raw JSON slices, without copying.
Keys are computed only when no header names a session and the selector uses sessions (PoolSelector::uses_sessions, true only for affinity).
New dependencies of dynamo-global-router:
xxhash-rust, a workspace dependency already used by dynamo-kv-router;
serde;
serde_json with raw_value, to borrow the input fields without copying.

session_ids_are_stable holds the key derivation fixed with a golden value. Derived IDs are shared between Global Frontends, so a change to the derivation must change the seed's version tag.
Cost: on a synthetic 3.2 MB body of 500 messages, prefix_keys takes 1.0 ms against 0.87 ms for the body parse it follows (release build, one core). Only sessionless requests under affinity pay it.
This has not been run on the multi-region bench.
Issues and Ongoing Work
A derived session is an ordinary string session ID, so the session-affinity work in flight carries it unchanged:
Requests without an explicit session ID can now continue in a matching existing session based on their prior input. Explicit session IDs still take precedence, and requests with no matching session can start a new one.
Bug Fixes
Requests with valid JSON and a model are no longer rejected solely because their input fields are missing or unsupported; they can be forwarded for routing.
The affinity policy pinned only requests carrying x-dynamo-session-id, so a
multi-turn conversation from any other client was placed afresh on every
turn and lost its pool's KV cache.
A request's session now comes from the Dynamo header or a coding agent's
own session header (Claude Code, Codex, OpenCode), as the Dynamo frontend
already reads them. A request that names none gets one from its input, the
way the tokenizer cache keys prompt prefixes: one xxh3 pass over Anthropic
`system` and each `messages` or Responses `input` item yields a key per
prefix, and a request continues the session of an earlier request whose
whole input its input begins with. Only text values are hashed, skipping
cache breakpoints, part types and reasoning, so clients that rewrite those
in messages they send again keep their session.
A derived session is an ordinary session ID with a reserved prefix, kept in
the same pin table, so replica sync and shared stores carry it unchanged.

The change derives input-prefix keys for requests without a named session and passes them to routing. The affinity selector can use earlier prefixes to continue a live pool pin and pin a request under its final prefix.

Summary
Prefix-key derivation and routing contract lib/global-router/Cargo.toml, lib/global-router/src/prefix_key.rs, lib/global-router/src/selector.rs, lib/global-router/src/lib.rs
Adds RequestInput and PrefixKey. Prefix keys hash the model and text-bearing values from system, messages, and input in order. The routing request carries prefix keys, and PoolSelector adds uses_sessions().
Frontend input extraction and forwarding lib/global-frontend/Cargo.toml, lib/global-frontend/src/proxy.rs, lib/global-frontend/tests/forwarding.rs, lib/global-frontend/README.md
The frontend reads raw input fields and derives prefix keys when no named session is present and the selector uses sessions. Invalid JSON or a missing or non-string model still returns 400; unusable input does not by itself reject the request. Tests cover both session headers and prefix-key counts. The README describes the continuation input.
Prefix-based pool selection and pinning lib/global-router/src/affinity.rs
The selector searches up to 16 earlier prefixes, deepest first, for a live pin. It pins an unnamed request under its final prefix when fewer than 1 << 20 pins exist. Named-session pins take precedence. Tests cover continuation, unrelated and repeated input, and named-session precedence.
Add a signal for pin-cap pressure and correct the frontend description. These bounded issues do not otherwise prevent merging.

Update the intro: it says the frontend reads only model.
The PR makes the frontend also read system, messages, and input when no session header is present and the selector uses sessions. The intro sentence on line 9 no longer matches this behavior. The module docs in proxy.rs already state the new behavior, so the README intro should match them.

Emit a rate-limited signal when derived pin insertion reaches the cap.
When self.pins.len() >= MAX_DERIVED_PINS, the current final-prefix key is silently discarded. The conversation can later lose affinity when its retained key expires or leaves the 16-key lookup window.
Add a rate-limited warning at this branch that includes the current pin count and MAX_DERIVED_PINS. This provides actionable cap-pressure visibility without implying that it preserves affinity or requiring a major eviction redesign.

Add a rate-limited warning in the derived-pin capacity branch near `self.pin` in
the routing method, reporting the current `self.pins.len()` and
`MAX_DERIVED_PINS` when the cap prevents insertion. Preserve the existing pin
limit and insertion behavior; do not add eviction or imply that the warning
preserves affinity.

Review fixes for the input-derived session keys:
- An element's hash is now the sum of its values' hashes, so reordering
fields in a message sent again keeps its key, and the streaming hasher,
element seed and leaf tags go away.
- Objects whose type is reasoning, thinking or redacted_thinking count as
nothing, so dropping a Responses reasoning item or a thinking part keeps
later keys.
- A Responses string input counts as the user message the next turn sends.
- The derived-pin cap reads the pin count taken at each sweep instead of
locking every shard on each request.
- The README intro says which fields are read.
