fix(kv-router): check a member fingerprint in CRTC's equal-size skip - #16265

Adds a deterministic three-event repro and ports the random-hole differential test from #15611, where every rank may evict mid-chain. Both fail on main: the lookup walk treats a child's equal-sized full-edge coverage as equal to its active set, but removal does not cascade to children, so the child can name a different worker. find_match_step skipped intersecting the walk's active workers with a node's full-edge coverage whenever the two sets had the same size. After a head-block eviction on a node another worker keeps alive, a child can still list the evicting worker, so an equal-sized set can name different workers and the walk credits a worker past its cached prefix. Full-edge coverage and the walk's active set become WorkerSets, which keep the XOR of a 64-bit mix of each member. All mutation goes through insert, remove and retain, so the fingerprint stays in step with the members. The walk skips only when sizes and fingerprints match; unequal sets collide with probability about 2^-64. Debug builds assert the sets are equal whenever the skip fires. …o-overcount rule The equal-set skip compares sizes and a 64-bit member fingerprint, so a collision (about 2^-64 per comparison) still overcounts as the size-only check did. Say so in the README and keep it as the one exception in the CRTC AGENTS.md rule. Co-Authored-By: Claude Opus 5.5 <noreply@anthropic.com> Signed-off-by: jthomson04 <jwillthomson19@gmail.com>

Summary
CRTC's lookup walk skipped intersecting its active workers with a child's full-edge coverage whenever the two sets had the same size. That shortcut can overcount. Removal doesn't cascade to children (see the
TODO(CORRECTNESS)inremove.rs), so when a worker evicts a head or middle block on a node that another worker keeps alive, the child nodes still list the evicting worker. An equal-sized coverage set can then name different workers, and the walk credits a worker past its cached prefix. The minimal case:
[1, 2]and worker 1 stores[1, 3]. The tree is[1]{0,1}, with children[2]{0}and[3]{1}.[1]{1}, but[2]still holds{0}.[1, 2]: after the first node the active set is{1}, and the child[2]holds{0}. Both have one member, so the walk skipped the check and scored worker 1 at 2 when it holds 1.This was the only documented exception to "lookups never overcount" in the CRTC AGENTS.md. #15610 removed it by moving coverage to atomic bitsets, which made always intersecting cheap. That needed #15609's epoch layer, and the stack was closed after #16134 carried #15611's win to main. This is the standalone fix promised in #15610's closing note.
Fix: keep the O(1) skip, but also require a matching member fingerprint. The check is probabilistic, not exact.
full_edge_workersand the walk's active set become aWorkerSet(worker_set.rs). It is anFxHashSetplus the XOR of a 64-bitsplitmix64mix of each member.insert, removeandretain, and only when membership actually changes. The fields are private, so it can't fall out of step with the members. Reads go throughDeref, so existing call sites are unchanged.splitmix64per coverage change;u64compare per hop when the sizes match;splitmix64per worker dropped, only on the intersection path that already does a hash probe per worker; Why not always intersect, or port the bitsets?
Docs: the CRTC README's "Equal-size skip" section becomes "Equal-set skip" and states the collision case. The AGENTS.md exception to "never overcount" is narrowed from any equal-size skip to a fingerprint collision in it.
Out of scope:
remove.rsTODO). It would fix the root cause and the TODO's other symptoms, but it costs a subtree walk on the writer.positional.rs).Validation

Same harness as #16134: 2,048 mocker workers across 12 processes, two NUMA-pinned frontends, an AIPerf agentic replay at fixed concurrency 6,144, and a 90 s measurement window. One allocation; order: main rehearsal (discarded), main timing, fix timing, fix profile, main profile.
The fix doesn't change lookup results on this workload. A bench-only build of this branch (never merged) counted the walk's hops in a separate one-run allocation:
So the skip matters here (87% of hops), but on main it never misfires on this workload. Main and the fix return the same scores, which agrees with the README's 0-in-4.3M Mooncake measurement. The overcount needs evictions of a block that another worker still holds, from the head or mid-chain, as in the random-hole test.
CRTC CPU (
