Navigate logical layers of code changes, visualize relationships, and explore their blast radius. WalkthroughChangesThe pull request migrates performance-model integration from AIC to AISimulate. It adds canonical AIS configuration and role-based Planner models, updates Router, Mocker, Replay, Python bindings, and Rust callbacks, upgrades AISimulate dependencies, replaces benchmarks and smoke tests, and updates documentation and CI wiring. AIS configuration and Planner — Router, Mocker, and Replay — Python and Rust bindings — Dependencies, tests, benchmarks, and documentation — Priority: ➖ Normal Estimated code review effort: 5 (Critical) | ~120 minutes Merge Risk: 🟡 Moderate · up to Simulated decode timing is wrong for MTP and Eagle speculative decoding, so planner and replay estimates can be inaccurate. An explicit planner model name is replaced during profiling. A bad AIS config file path fails with a stack trace instead of a clear error. Fix the speculation depth handling before merging. 🚥 Pre-merge checks | ✅ 3 | ❌ 1 | ❓ 1❌ Failed checks (1 warning, 1 inconclusive)

Approving at 08f91e5443. I found one P2 and three P3 items, and none of them blocks the merge.
- [P2]
components/src/dynamo/common/configuration/groups/ais_perf_args.py:65: the head ignores the elevenDYN_AIC_*variables and gives no error. If one of them is set, please make the AIS path fail. The thread has a tested suggestion. - [P3]
components/src/dynamo/common/configuration/groups/ais_perf_args.py:56: a flag that a user repeats with one spelling now fails. Please raise the error only for two different spellings. - [P3]
Cargo.lock:144, with the two binding locks: 34windows-sysand 2heckversion references move away from main. Please regenerate the three locks from the copies on main. - [P3]
tests/wheels/smoke_install.py:274: the claim about a placeholder sdist is false for the new pin. Please correct the comment or remove it.
What I read in full, what I read only at the interface, and what I tested.
I read these files in full:
- The pin files
pyproject.toml,benchmarks/pyproject.toml,container/deps/requirements.aisimulate.txt,Cargo.tomlandlib/bindings/python/Cargo.toml. - The three
Cargo.lockfiles. - The build and CI files
container/templates/wheel_builder.Dockerfile,.github/filters.yaml,.github/workflows/pr.yamland.github/workflows/pre-merge.yml. - The ownership files
.github/codeowners/areas.yamlandCODEOWNERS, and the wheel smoke testtests/wheels/smoke_install.py.
My approval covers the files that dynamo-ops-codeowners owns.
In the other files, I read the public interfaces that change: CLI flags, environment variables, configuration keys, and Python and Rust names. I did not read their full logic, so their code owners must review it.
At this head, I tested these items:
- The five pin files and the three locks name the same
aisimulate/aisimulate-corebuild. PyPI and the NVIDIA index serve the two wheels with the SHA-256 values in the description. crates.io serves the crate with the checksum in the locks. - The
--aic-*flags and--router-prefill-load-model aicstill work, and so doesDYN_ROUTER_PREFILL_LOAD_MODEL=aicin the Python frontend. The mocker arguments in the operator golden files on main also still work. - The retired Planner key
aic_perf_modelfails with a clear message. Oldaic_*keys in mocker engine JSON fail as unknown fields. - Six Python mutations and one Rust mutation of migration lines each fail at least one test. CI runs those tests on this head.
- #14355 conflicts with this PR in 30 files, in both merge orders. The Weka loader that #14355 calls is the same in this pin. Neither PR breaks the AISimulate calls of the other, but the second PR to merge needs a rebase.
When I posted, three sidecar E2E jobs were still running. My findings do not depend on them.

Approving at 8750e4ca39. The fixes for my four findings hold, and this commit adds no new problem. No finding of mine is open.
ais_perf_args.py: the AIS path now stops on the oldDYN_AIC_*variables and names them. A repeated flag with one spelling takes the last value again. These two changes use my own suggestion text, so this part of the approval reviews my own code.- The three
Cargo.lockfiles: each one differs from main only in theaisimulate-coreentry. smoke_install.pyandwheel_builder.Dockerfile: the claim about PyPI is gone.
What I tested at this head, and the CI jobs that had not finished at the time of this post.
This commit changes seven files, and I read all of them. The scope of my first review at 08f91e5443 does not change: my approval covers the files that dynamo-ops-codeowners owns.
On the GPU box, I built _core from this head with the ais-forward-pass feature. The 12 migration test files pass (343 tests). I also merged main at 85c8b737cc into this head without a conflict. With _core built from that merge, the same 343 tests pass.
I removed each fix in turn, and each time a new test failed. The replies on the four threads give the measurements.
isort, black, and ruff pass on the three changed Python files with the hook settings.
When I posted, the PR workflow on this head was still running. dynamo-runtime / test / sequential cuda13.0, amd64 and its arm64 twin collect test_ais_perf_args.py, and they had not finished. My approval does not depend on them.

Approving at 08f5cd70f2. The worker-card P2 is fixed, and the merge of main, a9ccb22e18, and 4e21b537c7 add no blocking problem. One new P3 is inline.
- [P2, fixed]
lib/kv-router/src/scheduling/config.rs:480: av1.5.0frontend and this head now read the worker cards of each other. The fix is my suggestion from the thread, so this part of the approval reviews my own code. The thread reply has the measurements. - [P3, open]
.github/workflows/shared-deploy-test.yml:90: CI images do not need--runtime-version-from-source, and the flag lets a deploy test with no image pass admission.
What I tested in the four new commits, and one CI job that did not run before this post.
The merge 95822af540 has no conflict and no hand edit. git merge-tree gives the committed tree exactly. The added and removed lines of this PR are the same before and after the merge in every file of the PR. No line that main added uses a retired AIC name.
a9ccb22e18: the Python Client.wait_for_instances() now returns only after the routing view also lists the worker. Before, it returned as soon as discovery listed the worker. The routing view did not always list that worker yet. On the GPU box, I tested these cases:
- If I make the new wait accept every discovered worker, the new test fails.
- When the router marks every worker down after a failure, the wait lasts until the next reconcile pass: 400 ms with a 400 ms interval. The default interval is 5 s. With an interval of 0, the wait returns at once.
- If the monitor task of the client stops, the wait has no limit. For
endpoint.client(), that task stops only at shutdown. The callers outside tests wait once, at startup or before a first request.
4e21b537c7: actionlint gives the same 99 findings as main, and it reports both defects that I planted in the changed lines. The new test in tests/deploy/test_dgd_utils.py passes 8 cases. If I remove the override call, 4 cases fail. The two builds that now get 90 minutes, vLLM and frontend, stopped at about 60 minutes at 8750e4ca39.
Main is now at 4dc45f7823. A merge of this head with it has no conflict, and the regenerated CODEOWNERS matches the merged file.
dynamo-runtime / test / sequential cuda13.0, arm64 collects the arm64 test that failed with "No workers available". It was cancelled at 4e21b537c7, and at 08f5cd70f2 it did not run before this post. My approval does not depend on it.

- [P3, fixed]
.github/workflows/shared-deploy-test.yml:47: a deploy job with an empty image tag now stops at its first step. CI tags pass admission without an override. The thread reply has the measurements.
What else I tested at 8dbdbf3de7.
The commit changes four files. The three files under tests/deploy/ now match main, so the only change left in these four files is the 9-line step in shared-deploy-test.yml.
actionlint 1.7.12 gives the same 99 findings on the merge base 8e41fd80f4, on 08f5cd70f2, and on this head. It reports both defects that I planted in the new step.
A merge of this head with main at 6822babc5c has no conflict, and the regenerated CODEOWNERS matches the merged file.
My last approval said that dynamo-runtime / test / sequential cuda13.0, arm64 did not run before it. At this head, that job gives 4144 passed, 151 skipped, and no failure.

I approve this pull request again at 7110a910d1. The new commit is the same change as 56ed26a5bd (#15380) on main, and it adds no new problem. No finding of mine is open.
vllm-runtime / Test cuda13.0, arm64passes both cases oftest_tito_adapter_rejects_asymmetric_image_feature_objectsat this head.vllm-runtime / Test cuda13.0, amd64did not finish before this review.- Earlier fixes in
ais_perf_args.pyandlib/kv-router/src/scheduling/config.rsuse my suggestion text. That part of this approval reviews my own code.
What I tested at 7110a910d1.
The new commit changes one test file and no production code. Its git patch-id --stable matches 56ed26a5bd. The test file is now the same blob as the file on main at 0ce693b3b0.
At 8dbdbf3de7, engine_generate.py:230 gave both cases to the GenerateRequest of vLLM 0.30.0. It raised a pydantic ValidationError, but the old test expected a TypeError. Both vLLM Test jobs gave 2 failed, 2048 passed. This pull request does not change the vLLM pin, ==0.30.0.
At this head, the arm64 job gives 2050 passed, 10 skipped. The same test file passed on amd64 and on arm64 in the CI of #15380, with 2050 passed on each.

…ka-aisimulate-adapter Resolve conflicts with #15063 (canonical AIS perf-model migration), which supersedes this branch's AISimulate pin and namespace/API migration: - Take main's pins (aisimulate 0.13.0.dev202609270000000058), planner, profiler, docs, and dependency tests; accept main's removal of the legacy aic modules and tests. - Replace lower_canonical_aic_timing and the neutral-default engine-arg guards with main's lower_upstream_engine_args; the mocker now accepts those fields natively. - Keep the Weka delegation: weka.rs stays removed, native replay keeps execution_model / weka_nested_timestamp_basis alongside ais_perf_config and telemetry, and the runner keeps its agentic capabilities. - Resolve the execution target model from canonical AIS identity as well as the upstream wire spelling. - Drop duplicate struct fields introduced by the textual merge and regenerate lockfiles (drops dynamo-data-gen from the mocker graph). Summary
Migrate Dynamo's perf-model consumers to AISimulate's canonical
best_available(config)interface and use the matching published Python wheel and Rust crate. The nightly publication prerequisite is satisfied.Carry complete canonical configurations through Planner roles, Router/Frontend, Mocker, Replay, Profiler and related CLI consumers. Preserve role identity, ordered data roots, nested estimator controls, and the
estimation_mode=auto/fallback_policy=denydefaults.Use
aisfor Dynamo's perf-model SDK and saved configuration; retain necessary legacy CLI spellings at parsing boundaries. Retire the old perf-model constructors and config adapters. Document the canonical interface as the required path for future features.Preserve
aicin serialized worker cards during the N-2 compatibility window; accept bothaicandaisat the wire and Rust environment-parsing boundaries while retainingAisinternally andaisfor display. Versioned TODOs separate the v1.8 writer transition from the earliest v1.10 read-alias removal.Migrate Python imports and resource lookup to the published
aisimulate/aisimulate_corenamespaces, including the capacity helper. The upstreamaiconfiguratorexecutable and upstream-owned wire fields retain their supported names.Integrate current main's Replay telemetry and Router plugin interfaces. Adapt synthetic trace initialization to the published crate, and correct two test assumptions: decode-worker pass timing and prefill-produced first tokens.
Harden CLI config-file errors and environment defaults, preserve explicit Planner model aliases, and align image-local Replay tests and Operator golden manifests with the canonical interface.
Reject unsupported pipeline-parallel Mocker/Replay configs (
pp != 1) at the shared normalization boundary. Preserve external FPM parquet paths in Router prediction configs and reject conflicting path declarations.Python clients now wait for discovery membership to reach the routing snapshot before reporting workers ready. The Rust discovery-only wait remains available to its existing callers.
CI deploy tests reject empty runtime image tags before accessing the cluster and use the version already encoded by the image-copy workflow. Cold vLLM/frontend multi-architecture image jobs have a 90-minute budget covering compilation and subsequent compliance/test-image stages.

Current CI repair in
7110a910d1cherry-picks the already-merged #15380: both architectures failed the same two malformed-multimodal-request tests because vLLM 0.30 validates the native request earlier and raises PydanticValidationError. The source fix changes one test file; production behavior is unchanged. Upstream amd64/arm64 CI each passed 2,050 CPU tests, including the two failures. Pre-commit passes locally; the local vLLM 0.24 environment still raises the olderTypeError, and expired AWS SSO prevents a same-image local reproduction. Current-head hosted validation is required. On
8dbdbf3de7, all eight framework deployment jobs and DGDR deployment checks passed. The remaining Rust GPU and Planner arm64 compliance cancellations occurred after approximately 29 minutes of container startup and 13 minutes stalled in remote BuildKit, respectively; neither log reports a source failure. The new run retries these checks with their existing timeouts.Deploy-input validation on
8dbdbf3de7: deployment helper tests 16 passed, pre-commit passed, and the exact workflow guard rejected empty/whitespace tags while accepting versioned vLLM/SGLang/TensorRT-LLM CI tags. The unnecessary source-version override flag, helper, and tests have been removed; cluster deployment remains validated by hosted CI.Worker-card compatibility validation: the new regression rejects legacy input before the fix and passes afterward. The full KV-router library suite passes (1,017 passed, 2 ignored), including a frozen v1.5 enum reader and both Rust environment spellings. The full worker-card regression passes for KV/round-robin modes, both input spellings, canonical reserialization, and equal
mdcsumvalues. Clippy for both crates (including tests,-D warnings), formatting, and pre-commit pass.Validated the runtime/CI fixes after merging main

Removed Python namespaces are explicitly blocked during tests so older packages in the development environment cannot mask missing migrations.-D warningspassed.deepseek-v4-pro-0813.mdx:254link.Some focused suites overlap. Local runtime execution is x86_64; the Dynamo host wheel targets manylinux 2.39. Arm64 execution, production container images and GPU serving remain covered by hosted CI rather than these local results. The previously reproduced, unchanged local vLLM frontend-unit API mismatch remains outside this local selection. Required current-head GitHub CI must pass before merge.

1750335a04: 250 related tests passed (2 missing-backend skips), 77 focused tests passed (overlapping), and the isolated CI-layout live-file tests passed without a parent conftest. All 17 golden worker argument lists match the published-wheel Profiler generator; Go golden-helper tests pass. Focused Mocker mypy and the complete bindings mypy pass. Full local component mypy still encounters six missing Redis/native-submodule typing errors specific to the development environment; the hosted failure was the singlespellingsannotation error fixed here. Pre-commit and changed-doc checks pass. The previous hosted failures were a missing Mocker type annotation, Replay collection depending on fixtures not copied into the Planner test image, and three Operator golden fixtures retaining old flags/version aliases/dense MoE sentinels. The profiler Jobs themselves succeeded. These source/test issues are fixed; current-head hosted CI is required before merge. Four CodeRabbit findings were fixed and one unsupported speculation-kind report was resolved with published-API reproduction evidence.
P2 follow-up in
08f91e5443: Mocker/Replay now rejects unsupportedpp != 1through the common native normalization path; default/explicitpp=1remains valid. Router prediction configs retain external FPM parquet paths, preserve other controls/roots, and reject conflicting paths. With a rebuilt optimized native wheel, validation passed: Rust Mocker 221, Python binding/Replay/capacity 178 (8 expected skips), Router 24, and public CLI roundtrips 19. Direct offline/online/SDK probes verify PP rejection and unchanged single-stage execution. The same valid external FPM dataset now produces 22.0 ms in both worker and Router estimators. Mocker Clippy, scoped Router typing, pre-commit and independent review passed.Ops review follow-up in
8750e4ca39: retiredDYN_AIC_*variables now fail clearly when constructing AIS configuration; repeated identical CLI spellings retain last-value-wins semantics. All three lockfiles now differ from main only in the AISimulate package entry, and stale PyPI placeholder comments are removed. Validation: 304 passed, 2 expected skips, scoped typing, pre-commit, all three locked dependency resolutions, and locked Mocker/Python-binding builds passed. Real-wheel TP control probes retain 222.433 ms at TP=2 and 402.234 ms at default TP=1. Current main has no textual merge conflict; #14355 remains a separate change.
