WalkthroughThe pull request improves vCluster diagnostics and resilience. It appends timestamped port-forward logs, captures failure state, retries transient API failures, rebuilds failed port-forwards, and preserves original test exceptions during cleanup. ChangesvCluster resilience
Estimated code review effort: 3 (Moderate) | ~25 minutes Merge Risk: 🔵 Low · up to The deploy-test resilience changes improve recovery from transient tunnel failures, but unexpected cleanup defects may be hidden and watchdog restart details may be absent from their intended diagnostic artifact. These are bounded CI diagnosability and cleanup risks that should be addressed before relying on the new failure evidence. 🚥 Pre-merge checks | ✅ 4 | ❌ 1❌ Failed checks (1 warning)

- Around line 147-148: Update the watchdog restart block to use the watchdog log
destination passed as its second argument, `${WATCHDOG_LOG}`, for both the
restart marker and restarted kubectl output, while preserving the existing
port-forward behavior.
In `@tests/deploy/dgd_utils.py`:
- Around line 1791-1794: In tests/deploy/dgd_utils.py#L1791-L1794, narrow the
stop() cleanup handler to documented recoverable exceptions; in `#L1849-L1853` and
`#L1864-L1867`, preserve the setup or test error only for expected cleanup
failures, while logging and re-raising unexpected cleanup exceptions. Update the
relevant port-forward cleanup handlers without altering normal cleanup behavior.

The CI failure is unrelated to this PR's code. The arm64 sequential job reached 96% without a test assertion failure, then the self-hosted runner reported 'Executing the custom container implementation failed'. The subsequent artifact-upload steps failed with the same runner error. dynamo-status-check only propagated that job failure. The same arm64 job passed on main at the PR's merge base, so this appears to be an infrastructure flake. |

Overview
Harden deploy-test CI against transient vCluster port-forward outages. This preserves the useful test failure, retries recoverable tunnel failures, and uploads enough tunnel diagnostics to investigate future incidents.
Details
Failure evidence
The motivating failure was
sglang Deploy Test / agg_routeron PR #13512 (workflow run33703673466, job100490130697). The relevant log is also embedded below so the diagnosis remains available if the source PR is updated or its checks are rerun:The frontend request lost its connection after the deployment became Ready. Cleanup then hit the same local vCluster tunnel outage and masked the original request error. The successful cluster dump about four seconds later indicates that the outage was transient and the watchdog restored connectivity.
