Behavior

Seeded snapshots in #207 describe historical prompt prefixes but start their retained suffix against a cold engine. traffic.load.agentic_warmup: true now prepares the same native engine before starting that suffix, for offline aggregated and separate prefill/decode (P/D) vLLM/SGLang replay. The prerequisite #207 is merged; this PR targets main.

Stage Input Output
Primer Each live conversation's last historical request, with its complete original input tokens One output token and real native KV state
Warmup Repeat saved primer inputs in deterministic order; without history, use the earliest retained request Ten additional one-token requests per lane
Profile The unchanged saved frontier and original output plans Measured results for the retained suffix

Preparation is serial within a lane and concurrent across lanes. Each P/D primer is one logical request through the existing handoff. The barrier waits for successful completion and server quiescence, including transfers, source holds, destination reservations and cleanup. Engines, routers, workers, caches and prepared play identities survive the transition; remaining snapshot timers start at the barrier.

Preparation does not enter profile counts, latency/reuse metrics, worker time, telemetry intervals, power evidence or the profile duration limit. The separate agentic_phases ledger records inputs, identities, first-admission reuse and completion/settlement times. Failure or cancellation stops new preparation, drains issued work and prevents profile execution. CLI prediction saves failure evidence before returning failure; recommendation retains failed candidates but excludes them from ranking.

Provenance clarification — 9bc4cd60

Added a pinned methodology reference to the preparation module and a file-level source comparison. AgentX webpage methodology and AIPerf request-boundary semantics are assessed separately, with the local sampler, graph transformation, saved-prefix policy, and native execution integration described explicitly. Corrected the earlier statement that all behavioral reference automatically triggers the attribution gate. This commit changes comments/documentation only; the original finding remains open for reviewer/maintainer acceptance and notices are unchanged.

Local checks passed: Rust formatting, whitespace, copyright headers, all 72 documentation files' local destinations, seven documentation-link tests, and packaged legal-file equality. Runtime tests were not repeated for this comment/documentation-only commit. Latest-head hosted CI must be evaluated separately from the historical validation below.

Historical conflict validation — 54ad98f2

Merged main 3bfdbf88a07980b5caae5801580320d47c39dafb, including the squashed #207 prerequisite, while preserving branch history. Resolved overlapping API, capability, documentation and test additions against the original #207 parent. Warmup, barrier, P/D, preparation admission retention and profile duration behavior are preserved. Both upstream diagnostics and phase-reset tests remain covered.

The fixed-timing regression now expects 60 ms on both backends: 50 ms remaining snapshot wait + 10 ms prefill + 0 ms decode. This follows main's deliberate removal of the external-timing 1 ms floor (#159); no production timing change was introduced here.

Validation on 54ad98f2: Rust workspace 1,705 passed / one existing ignored; external Rust API 8 passed; rebuilt native extension with 1,195 Python regressions, 89 FPM SDK/public API cases, and 21 public CLI end-to-end cases passed; policy/workflow 430 passed. Rust formatting, Ruff, whitespace, documentation links, copyright and packaged legal checks passed. Independent integration review found no new issue. These results belong to that historical commit; see current checks for the latest head.

Attribution finding remains open pending reviewer/maintainer acceptance of the documented reference scope. The source comparison supports methodological reference with an AISimulate implementation; matching behavior alone does not establish copied/adapted content. No license exemption or final clearance is claimed. Jason's earlier source-compatibility finding remains addressed by the coordinated 0.13.0 migration, exhaustive external-consumer literals and migration documentation.

Public boundary and review map

  • Risk: high, because phase transitions and measurement isolation cross runtime/reporting boundaries. Start with loadgen/phase.rs, WorkloadDriver::new_agentic_warmup, the aggregated/P/D runtime barriers, and the native/Python public entrypoints.
  • Weka, Agentic Mooncake and agentic Dynamo trace inputs support offline aggregated/P/D Engine replay. Both P/D roles must use the same target model, including their actual AIC timing configuration. HBM-only cache and non-speculative vLLM/SGLang remain required; online P/D, agentic TRT-LLM and host offload fail validation. Standard Dynamo input retains its existing behavior. Reading a Dynamo trace does not qualify the separate Dynamo adapter.
  • The P/D increment opens and validates public entrypoints around the existing runtime. It adds no new executor, sorted interning, cache hash algorithm, output RNG or trace schema. Cold constructors remain compatible.
  • The optional warmup boolean requires a seeded snapshot and positive lanes. Rust exposes a named constructor; reports expose preparation evidence and profile attribution. Timing providers with energy evidence reset their reporting epoch at the barrier while keeping timing shape caches.
  • Warmup input/output and barrier contract.

Historical validation — 3ac7ae8

Tested commit: 3ac7ae86131605a8c741cfa337f6843247fbec56, based on #207 d80911e3 and tested main ancestor c9a65622.

  • Codex reviewed commit: 3ac7ae86131605a8c741cfa337f6843247fbec56. Independent review of the complete P/D increment, public boundaries and aggregated compatibility found no unresolved P0/P1/P2. The actual AIC-model mismatch found during review is fixed and covered for each role; standard Dynamo retains its capacity/provider validation. This is technical review, not CODEOWNER approval.
  • Full Rust workspace with embed-python,replay-bench: 1,514 passed, one existing ignored. External Rust API: 8 passed, including public prepared P/D execution.
  • Rebuilt native extension; ten complete configuration, runner, traffic, CLI, search and power consumer files: 788 passed. Public matrices cover both backends, both topologies, all three agentic inputs, cold/snapshot/warmup, caching enabled/disabled, repeatability, prediction/recommendation and rejected combinations.
  • Native P/D qualification checks exact prepared identity through handoff, actual prefill/decode admission evidence, lane isolation, saved spawn/join timers with speedup, both roles' power reset and profile clocks, client completion before source cleanup, and failed/canceled handoff draining without profile execution.
  • The existing source-unit-64 / engine-block-16,32,48,64,96,128,256 matrix remains passing on both backends, including missing/excess hashes, private partial tails, rolling divergence and native cache reuse. Actual hits use first admission, not router overlap.
  • Rust formatting, Ruff, whitespace, documentation links, copyright and packaged legal checks passed.
  • Historical-head Fast CI and Full CI passed. Full CI completed with 51 successful jobs and two expected skips. CodeRabbit completed its formal review on this head. Its one minor comment concerns an inherited aggregated AIC-model validation gap, reproduced unchanged on both main baselines, feat: add seeded AgentX snapshots and per-play cache identity [AIC-1811] #207 and this head; the inline response leaves that general validation follow-up for maintainer triage while preserving this increment's P/D scope. The supplemental abort-power concern was disproved by native failure/cancellation checks: both roles clear evidence exactly once before Aborted, without profile execution. No additional production guard was needed. Applicable human approval remains outstanding.

Scope and provenance

Implements AIC-1812 and the initial public offline P/D qualification of AIC-1895 in this PR. Builds on the merged #207 / AIC-1811. Fixed-duration recycling, cutoff and late events from recycled plays still require joint acceptance with AIC-1813, AIC-1896 and AIC-1818; AIC-1895 is not fully closed by this initial boundary. Dynamo consumer qualification remains separate.

Reports remain functional_only: these self-authored fixtures validate native simulation behavior, not GPU performance or prediction accuracy. AgentX methodology specifies one-token primers and ten additional warmups per lane. The pinned AIPerf reference supplies request-boundary snapshot semantics; repeating saved prefixes is this implementation's policy for preserving the frontier, not a claim of identical AIPerf payload selection. The scoped source comparison and proposed methodological-reference treatment are documented above; reviewer/maintainer acceptance remains pending.

📝 Summary

Risk: High

Human attention should focus on:

  1. Native-engine, request, and host-offload drainage before profile activation.
  2. Failure and cancellation handling across prediction and recommendation flows.
  3. Public configuration, replay-report, and phase-evidence contracts.

Changes

  • Adds opt-in traffic.load.agentic_warmup.
  • Requires agentic_snapshot and positive agentic_lanes.
  • Runs one primer and ten one-token warmups per lane.
  • Starts profiling only after preparation succeeds, feedback settles, requests quiesce, and engines drain.
  • Excludes preparation from profile metrics, timing, telemetry, power, and provenance evidence.
  • Adds agentic_phases evidence and per-request phase attribution.
  • Aborts profiling after preparation failure or cancellation.
  • Excludes failed recommendation candidates from ranking.
  • Adds Rust APIs, Python validation, CLI handling, documentation, and regression coverage.
  • Resets profile timing and runtime evidence while retaining engines, KV cache, and timing-shape caches.
  • Adds offline aggregated and disaggregated vLLM/SGLang qualification with model, identity, cache, handoff, and barrier validation.

Technical quality

  • Supplied review summaries report no actionable findings. This is not approval.
  • Supplied validation reports 1,514 Rust tests, 8 external API tests, and 788 rebuilt-native Python/CLI tests.
  • The supplied summary reports Fast CI passed and Full CI running.
  • Coverage includes preparation barriers, cache reuse, failure evidence, CLI behavior, recommendation exclusion, power-evidence reset, public APIs, and offline P/D handoffs.
  • No current review severity counts were supplied.
  • Production-scale performance and memory results were not supplied.

Merge readiness

  • Merge readiness is incomplete while Full CI is running.
  • Confirm final CI results and inspect detailed logs before merge.
  • Perform focused human review of native-engine drainage, profile exclusion, cache reuse, timing-evidence reset, and failed-candidate handling.
  • Verify that public contract changes remain compatible with supported runners and report consumers.

Walkthrough

The change adds opt-in agentic snapshot warmup. It runs primer and warmup requests before profiling, excludes preparation from profile metrics, records phase evidence, resets measurement state, validates configuration and runner support, and reports aborted preparation.

Full details: Compatibility Boundaries

Explanation

The PR adds fields to two exported Rust structs without a compatibility-version update. ReplayReport is re-exported at the crate root and gains agentic_phases; PerRequestRecord is re-exported from replay and gains agentic_phase. Both structs are constructible by external consumers with exhaustive literals, so existing Rust clients can stop compiling. The wheel, crate, and release validator remain at 0.12.0, and no version or artifact-contract file changes are in the PR. The documented core API requires a minor-version bump for an unavoidable pre-1.0 source break. The Python traffic field itself is synchronized with the Rust binding, no new Dynamo dependency was introduced, and the one-wheel/one-crate manifest contract remains unchanged.

Resolution

Bump the coordinated product version to the next minor version in python/aisimulate/pyproject.toml, Cargo.toml, crates/core/Cargo.toml, and scripts/build_release_artifacts.py; update the matching artifact/API documentation and lock/package metadata as required. Keep the wheel and aisimulate-core crate versions aligned and rerun the public API and artifact-contract checks. Alternatively, redesign the report extension so existing external exhaustive struct literals remain source-compatible, then document and test the new accessor/wire contract.

Please review the incremental AIC-1812 change at 64c07dfc252b81fc0b92597246c8fd4079a382b3 against its stacked base #207 (84bede4cf841a4332d4f3e3da5ce86ea3c979dc7). Focus on phase/barrier correctness, original prompt identity, measurement exclusion, and controlled failure propagation. The repeated-prefix warmup input policy and its difference from pinned AIPerf duration-based warmup are explicit in the PR description and docs/agentic-warmup.md.

@Harrilee No actionable findings.

I checked the incremental AIC-1812 paths for the requested risks. The preparation requests use separate identities and retain the source prompt tokens, play identity, conversation identity, and cache identity. The profile opens only after preparation success, request quiescence, and engine drain. The transition resets profile measurement state while it retains the engine and KV cache. Aborted preparation prevents profile admission, causes predict to fail, and excludes the recommendation candidate from ranking.

Please review the latest head 8011e20536e8ebd0a999238cf51127d38048adcb on base #207 c51739a4245af64bcaa72dd9d156686c3496500c. Main advanced during review, so #207 and this PR were restacked. git range-diff 84bede4c..64c07dfc c51739a4..8011e205 confirms this warmup patch is identical. The fresh exact-head Rust feature suite passes 1,475 tests; Fast CI passes. Any review/CI coverage for 64c07dfc is historical.

@Harrilee No actionable findings in the exact c51739a4..8011e205 range.

The aggregate runtime opens the profile only after preparation feedback settles and the native engine drains. The transition resets the profile measurement epoch without resetting the live engine or cache. Preparation request identities retain the original cache, play, conversation, and full prompt-token context. An aborted preparation prevents profile admission, returns a failed prediction result, and excludes the candidate from recommendation ranking.

Linked repositories findings

ai-dynamo/dynamo

  • DynamoReplayRunner._run_trace reads agentic_lanes but not agentic_warmup, so the new workload option is silently omitted when executed through Dynamo’s adapter. [::ai-dynamo/dynamo::] (components/src/dynamo/replay/simulation.py:280-312)
  • run_trace_replay likewise has no agentic_warmup parameter or forwarding entry. [::ai-dynamo/dynamo::] (components/src/dynamo/replay/api.py:33-64, 133-200)
  • _materialize_offline_report constructs a ReplayReport without agentic_phases; the downstream report model serializes only summary, per-request, coverage, and planner data. [::ai-dynamo/dynamo::] (components/src/dynamo/replay/api.py:90-100; components/src/dynamo/replay/report.py:46-58)
  • Raw report metadata is preserved only when requested, but the wrapper has already discarded phase evidence during report materialization. [::ai-dynamo/dynamo::] (components/src/dynamo/replay/simulation.py:409-437)

ai-dynamo/aiconfigurator

  • No references to agentic_warmup, agentic_phases, or agentic_snapshot were found.

699-699: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality

The claim is refuted. EngineReplayRunnerFactory sets supported_agentic_topologies=("agg",) and supported_agentic_backends=("vllm", "sglang") for agentic_warmup. The disaggregated preparation code does not expand the runner capability, so the documentation correctly limits support to aggregated vLLM/SGLang replay.

1841-1865: 🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration

EngineComponent::g3_stats() snapshots the shared G3Tier, whose cumulative stats fields are incremented and never reduced. G3Tier::unregister_worker() removes the worker’s completion queue and, for worker-local scope, its entries; it does not alter stats. snapshot() only recomputes the residency gauges. Therefore worker removal cannot lower the baseline-subtracted cumulative counters, so the claimed panic, wraparound, and negative transfer_ms path is not supported. Saturating subtraction would also hide an invariant violation.

Addressed the supplied review in 4130c850876b96be5b0db56f1b749744823116c5:

  • Reset preparation runtime evidence at both barriers while retaining capture options and native cache state. The regression failed before the fix because profile pressure referenced ordinal 1 instead of 0; it now verifies profile-only pressure/lifecycle records and KV digests.
  • Align play terminal/settlement timestamps with profile-relative request timestamps. The regression reproduced the same event at 140 ms versus 40 ms before the fix.
  • Save aborted-run diagnostics but emit no success summary on stdout, for both JSON and table formats.
  • Emit per_request: [] consistently when capture is requested, including a successful empty run.
  • Share the compact payload/hash tail through one private helper; token interning, hashing and deferred materialization are unchanged.
  • Clarify the report clock and final-input-token recomputation contracts; fix the documented trace source to paths: [trace.json].

The report-level agentic_phase: profile is intentional: measured records only contain the suffix; preparation records are stored in the separate phase ledger. No additional phase state or prompt caching layer was introduced.

Current-head local evidence: 1,476 Rust tests passed (one existing ignored), 5 external API tests, and 399 Python/CLI tests with the rebuilt native extension; formatting, documentation, copyright and legal checks passed. Independent review of this delta found no concrete issues. New Fast/Full CI is running; previous-head CI is historical.

@Harrilee No actionable findings in the current #235 head.

The barrier reset preserves collector capture configuration and starts a separate profile evidence epoch in both runtimes. The timestamp rebasing applies consistently to measured request records and play outcomes. Aborted preparation writes diagnostics and returns failure without a success summary on stdout. The YAML example uses the valid paths field.

Validate reuse against the same-length reuse limit.

record_admission accepts reused == request.input_length and serializes it as phase evidence. The native vLLM test reports 8 reused tokens for a 9-token prompt with 4-token blocks, which confirms that the final token is excluded for an active generation request. The separate zero-output test allows full reuse, but agentic preparation always requests one output token.

For a nonempty same-length request, enforce floor((input_length - 1) / engine_block_size) * engine_block_size. For a 128-token request with 64-token blocks, the maximum is 64.

@coderabbitai I am keeping the existing reused <= input_length check for the outside-diff suggestion in review 5228800010. The proposed stricter bound is a backend policy, not a backend-neutral observation invariant.

WorkloadDriver::new_agentic_warmup and record_preparation_admission accept no backend and impose no vLLM/SGLang restriction. Public Python warmup qualification is separately limited to those two backends. Native apply_prefix_recompute applies this last-token cap only to SchedulingPolicy::Vllm. The existing test ordinary_vllm_prefix_recompute_does_not_change_trtllm_accounting deliberately preserves 8 cached tokens for an 8-token input with block size 4, with requires_logits=true; the proposed generic cap would reject that observation as exceeding 4.

The phase ledger should retain observed first-admission reuse, while backend-specific limits remain enforced and tested in the native schedulers. This is not a claim of TRT-LLM warmup qualification. Please re-evaluate this suggestion with that contract boundary.

The current 4130c850 head has now passed both Fast CI runs and Full CI.

@Harrilee The suggestion in review 5228800010 is not valid under this contract boundary.

WorkloadDriver::record_preparation_admission has no backend or scheduling-policy input. It must preserve the observed first-admission reuse value, subject to the backend-neutral reused <= input_length invariant.

apply_prefix_recompute applies the final-token cap only for SchedulingPolicy::Vllm. The verified TRT-LLM regression preserves 8 cached tokens for an 8-token input with block size 4. A generic stricter bound would reject that valid scheduler observation.

No change is required.

Learning: In `crates/core/src/replay/loadgen/driver.rs`, `WorkloadDriver::record_preparation_admission` records backend-neutral observed first-admission reuse for agentic warmup. Its invariant is `reused_input_tokens <= input_length`. Do not apply the vLLM final-token prefix-recompute cap at this phase-ledger boundary. `crates/core/src/engine/scheduler/vllm/policy.rs` applies that cap only for `SchedulingPolicy::Vllm`; TRT-LLM accounting can validly retain the full block-aligned input prefix.

These changes will be applied once approved by an admin.

CI fixes are pushed in 5a99a7fe and 45e456c0, retained by the latest documentation head fefb479ce5a9043fcac7aa192f51253bec52435d.

  • Release smoke and installed FPM tests now read the manifest version instead of asserting 0.12 after the coordinated 0.13 update.
  • Trusted PR Full CI uses the validated target base (d80911e3, feat: add seeded AgentX snapshots and per-play cache identity [AIC-1811] #207) for collector/prediction comparison. Comparing this stack with later main caused the unrelated DATA_MISS failures. No prediction model, data, or tolerance changed.
  • Updated the repository-policy assertion for the validated base output. Local Python 3.12 policy/workflow suites: 295 passed. The installed FPM test also passed using the actual CI-built 0.13 wheel.

Latest-head Fast CI passed. Full CI currently has 39 successful jobs, no failed jobs, and 13 amd64 application jobs waiting for a runner. Both release artifact contracts, both Rust/API suites, arm64 tools-build, and prediction regression passed. The prediction report compared 168,929 rows across 29 combinations with no differences. Full CI is not yet complete; these results do not claim final acceptance.

The separate source-attribution/maintainer guidance item remains open, as described above.

Resolve driver imports and the CLI parser relocation while preserving
snapshot identity/timing and all tests from both branches. Adapt the
public API import to the renamed Rust crate and give the snapshot CLI
test a real trace for the new resource preflight.
Resolve Rust, CLI, release, and CI conflicts while preserving the
prepared warmup/P-D contract and upstream resource and batch reporting.
Retain preparation admission evidence until the barrier and measure
bounded profile reports from the profile epoch. Cover summary/detailed
report parity, bounded reclamation, and canonical model identities.

Conflict refresh — facaea4c

Merged the updated #207 base (5c791eb564aec6103c161b58e36bd5fc8ac059bb) into this branch without rewriting its history. Resolved the Rust, CLI, package/release and CI conflicts, retaining the validated stack comparison base and canonical model identities.

The upstream batch collector would retire preparation admissions before the warmup ledger copied them. Preparation now retains those records through the barrier, then restores bounded profile reporting; summary throughput uses the profile epoch instead of including preparation time. New aggregated/P-D tests compare full serialized summary and detailed reports on both backends, and a collector test verifies profile records are reclaimed. The P/D test fails with the original unconditional batch entry and passes with the integration repair. No token sorting or new cache identity scheme was introduced.

Validation: Rust workspace 1,619 passed / one existing ignored; external Rust API 8 passed; rebuilt native extension with 900 Python/CLI/resource tests passed; 16 public CLI end-to-end cases passed; policy/workflow suite 422 passed. Formatting, documentation links, copyright, legal-copy and whitespace checks passed. Independent integration review found no new issue. Hosted CI for this head is pending; older results below are historical. The existing attribution/maintainer guidance gate remains open.

[major] Close the pending attribution gate before merge/release

The existing attribution finding remains open at facaea4c88a67ca78fcb7677893a86e97ea4d0ef. docs/agentic-warmup.md:120-147 explicitly records maintainer/OSRB guidance as pending, and the canonical and packaged notices still have no entry for this warmup work. This leaves the repository's required attribution gate unresolved. Record the required guidance, then complete the applicable file inventory and notices or document an authorized exemption in the existing thread.

Base automatically changed from feat/harrli/aic-1811-seeded-snapshots to main September 21, 2026 03:34
Preserve warmup, barrier, offline P/D, and bounded profile reporting while
merging main 3bfdbf8, including the squashed AIC-1811 prerequisite.
Retain both sides of the capability/API/test additions and update the
fixed-timing regression for the removed external decode 1 ms floor.

Resolved the conflicts against main in 54ad98f2, including #207's squash merge. The PR now targets main 3bfdbf88; warmup/barrier, offline P/D and bounded profile reporting remain intact. Both upstream capability/diagnostic additions and the warmup regressions are preserved.

Updated one test expectation for main's intentional removal of the external decode 1 ms floor: the fixture is now 50 ms remaining wait + 10 ms prefill + 0 ms decode = 60 ms on both backends. Production timing behavior is unchanged by this conflict resolution.

Validation passed: Rust 1,705 (1 existing ignore), public API 8, rebuilt-native Python 1,195, FPM SDK/API 89, CLI e2e 21, policy/workflow 430, formatting/docs/copyright/legal checks. Independent integration review found no new issue. New-head Fast/Full CI are pending; old-head results are historical. The existing attribution/maintainer guidance gate remains open.

Conditional technical approval for 54ad98f2dac53333b11ba6e8c5e31df40731df34, reviewed against 3bfdbf88a07980b5caae5801580320d47c39dafb.

No introduced functional defect or substantiated design blocker was found in this PR's stated scope. The review covered snapshot-prefix preparation, ten one-token warmups per lane, preservation of cache/identity/frontier state, server-quiescent barriers, P/D handoff and cancellation, measurement isolation, and public Python/CLI propagation. The earlier Rust source-compatibility finding is addressed by the documented coordinated 0.13.0 migration and external-consumer compile coverage.

Verification on this head: 1,705 Rust tests passed with one existing ignored test; eight external Rust API tests and 617 Python/CLI tests passed against a freshly built native extension. An independent native probe passed 48 configurations, each executed twice, covering both backends and topologies, zero/positive timing, multiple lane counts, and context-overflow failures. Fast CI and Full CI also passed on this commit.

Merge remains conditional on:

  1. Closing the existing attribution gate: record maintainer/OSRB guidance, complete the applicable derived-file inventory and canonical/packaged notices, or document an authorized exemption. The current docs/agentic-warmup.md explicitly records clearance as pending; passing the notice-equality check alone does not resolve this gate.
  2. Completing the applicable CODEOWNER/domain approvals and required reviews on the final commit. The latest formal CodeRabbit review predates this head, and GitHub still reports REVIEW_REQUIRED and BEHIND; address the merge-target currency requirement and revalidate any resulting commit before merging.

This assessment covers the initial offline aggregated/P/D increment. Full-duration recycling, cutoff/drain/censor behavior, late recycled-play events, Dynamo consumer qualification, and GPU performance accuracy remain outside this approval's scope, as documented in the PR and linked issues.

Submitted as a review comment because GitHub's formal approval state cannot encode these conditions. The technical assessment is positive; the outstanding merge gates remain open.

@Yiming992 Following up on the attribution condition in your review: 9bc4cd60 adds the pinned source comment and a scoped implementation comparison, and corrects the earlier blanket treatment of behavioral references as derived content. AgentX methodology and the AIPerf source-code behavioral reference are assessed separately.

The detailed evidence and proposed methodological-reference disposition are in the original Jason thread. Please confirm whether that explanation satisfies the attribution condition. The thread remains open pending reviewer/maintainer acceptance; no exemption or final merge clearance is claimed.

This commit changes only comments/documentation. Formatting, documentation links/tests, copyright headers and packaged legal-file consistency passed locally. Latest-head Fast CI has passed; Full CI is still pending. Your earlier runtime validation remains evidence for its reviewed commit, and final-head review/CODEOWNER requirements remain in place.

Approved after re-review of 4b751c3b3169daaf0691ac6c6e70dc66cf2b4fe2 against f914eff048c8665aeb5679d9d2137932fbffa4f3.

Standards

No actionable findings. I accept the revised reference-scope comparison and withdraw the attribution condition from my earlier assessment. Independent comparison of the pinned AgentX article, AIPerf implementation, and harness documentation found no concrete copied or adapted content in this PR. The article states benchmark requirements; the new phase coordinator implements them through AISimulate-specific queues, identities, completion/settlement feedback, and saved-prefix replay. The snapshot implementation is inherited unchanged from #207. Shared methodology alone does not establish the copied/adapted-content condition in AGENTS.md. This accepts the documented scope for this review; it is not a license exemption or legal clearance.

The earlier Rust source-compatibility concern remains addressed by the coordinated 0.13.0 migration and exhaustive external-consumer compile coverage.

Spec

No introduced functional defect or substantiated design blocker found. Rechecked preparation, ten one-token warmups per lane, frontier/cache preservation, quiescent barriers, P/D handoff and cancellation, measurement isolation, and Python/CLI propagation. Relative to the previously reviewed head, 38 of 40 net PR file patches are unchanged; the remaining changes are provenance documentation and the phase module's reference comment. The three main merges have no manual conflict resolutions, and their runtime/configuration interactions were rechecked.

Verification

  • Freshly rebuilt native extension on this exact commit.
  • Rust workspace: 1,722 passed, one existing ignored test; embedded round trips additionally exercised with the Python environment configured, including the inherited raw-version memory fixture with its explicit compatibility override.
  • Python/CLI suites: 632 passed. External Rust public-API consumer: eight passed.
  • Independent native probe: 48 configurations, each run twice, covering both backends, aggregated/P/D, zero/positive timing, multiple lane counts, and context-overflow rejection.
  • Focused CI-policy tests: 23 passed. Documentation-link tests/checker, packaged legal-file synchronization, Rust formatting, and diff whitespace checks passed.
  • Exact-head Fast CI and Full CI passed.

This supersedes my earlier conditional assessment of 54ad98f2. Approval covers this PR's documented offline aggregated/P/D increment, not the deferred full-duration recycling/cutoff work, Dynamo qualification, or GPU performance accuracy. Required CODEOWNER/domain approvals and conversation-resolution gates still apply before merge.

Standards: 0 findings. Spec: 0 findings.
