Defect

omninode_infra#885 is CLOSED, mergedAt null, no merge commit — its head is preserved at a2545fd7 but is not an ancestor of dev (compare API: status=diverged). Its OCC autobind companion nevertheless merged at 1c98fab75559fe04a242730c984c475e8840b092, binding a merged evidence record to code that never landed. Two entries on this contract carry that dead binding:

  • dod-OmniNode-ai-omninode_infra-pr-885 (Evidence-Source stamp)
  • dod-OmniNode-ai-omninode_infra-pr-885-ci (product-diff-scope stamp)

Because both ids match the structured dod-<org>-<repo>-pr-<n> binding form, node_dod_verify derives a ::pr-live-state assertion requiring MERGED + green checks. On a closed carrier that can never clear, and the entries are immutable under validator_occ_append_only.

Mechanism

Two layers, following the merged-path supersede convention established by OCC#5771 for the OCC#5763 dead carrier:

  1. Receipt surface — net-new command.supersede.0001.yaml ordinal records over each dead-carrier base receipt. Both merged base receipts are preserved byte-for-byte (git diff against dev for those two paths is empty).
  2. Contract surface — two appended retirement entries carrying evidence_artifact: supersedes_dod_evidence:<retired id>, so the retired items resolve to status=superseded at runtime. The receipt-level record alone does not reach that surface; the contract-level record alone does not reach the receipt surface.

Honest divergence from the precedent

OCC#5771 could assert the dead carrier's head commit was a member of the landing PR's commit set — same content, merged. That does not hold here, and the claim is not copied:

  • #885's commits (ba04f4e4, a2545fd7) are absent from #884's commit set.
  • #885's distinctive symbol GATEWAY_ATTACH_PATH appears zero times in dev's docker/onex-api/main.py.

#885's diff did not land in any form. What landed is a different and stronger fix for the same defect class: #885 proposed exempting the three gateway paths via PUBLIC_V1_PATHS; #884 (merged 0fa14c8f) instead added a separate GATEWAY_V1_PATHS set routed through _resolve_gateway_tenant_from_request inside m4_usage_metering_middleware, resolving the tenant from the gateway bearer rather than dropping auth. The bootstrap-circularity defect is genuinely closed on dev, by different code. Supersession of the binding is claimed; equivalence of the diffs is not.

Falsifiability

Both checks were read back out of the committed contract and executed verbatim.

assertion RED controls (all exit 1)
retire-autobind #884 merge SHA + state MERGED + #885 head diverged from dev all-zero SHA; identical instead of diverged; same shape aimed at dead carrier #885
retire-diffscope GATEWAY_ATTACH_PATH count = 0 on dev; GATEWAY_V1_PATHS present at 0fa14c8f; #884 MERGED absence predicate flipped to -ge 1; presence predicate aimed at GATEWAY_ATTACH_PATH

Disclosed negative-control limit: compare-status does not discriminate a squash-merged carrier (aiming it at #884's own head f65a1aec still exits 0). That is why the content-absence assertion is load-bearing on the diffscope entry, not the compare status.

Validator outcomes

  • Append-only proven by measurement: compute_contract_entry_sha256 recomputed for all 10 pre-existing entries — zero drift.
  • check_receipt_hardening clean; both supersessions CLEAN on S1 (distinctness) and S2 (family binding); _valid_supersession_replacement → (True, []) for both base receipts.
  • Supersession corpus ratchet: 2344 violating files, baseline 2344 — matches exactly. Baseline not padded.
  • PR-binding derivation verified directly: _hardcoded_pr_bindings_in_value returns only (OmniNode-ai/omninode_infra, 884) for both checks, and neither retirement id pins a PR number — so the appended live-state probe targets the merged carrier and never falls back to the dead one.
  • Executor shape verified against _invalid_check_value_reason (returned None for both).
  • Full pre-commit run --files green with no rewrites. The yamlfmt contamination gate initially fired; fixed honestly by re-authoring the affected fields as literal block scalars, as the gate's own message directs — the frozen baseline was not touched.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Updated delivery evidence and verification records for the replacement implementation.
    • Added audit-preserving records confirming the relevant change was merged successfully.
    • Documented that the superseded change was not merged and its implementation is absent from the development branch.
    • Added verification that the replacement gateway path configuration is present at the approved commit.

…a#885

omninode_infra#885 CLOSED UNMERGED (mergeCommit null, head preserved at
a2545fd7) while its OCC autobind companion MERGED bound to it, leaving a
merged evidence record vouching for code that never reached dev.

Repaired the append-only way: both merged base receipts are preserved
byte-for-byte and net-new command.supersede.0001.yaml ordinal records carry
the rebound receipts, plus two contract-level retirement entries that resolve
the dead-carrier items to status=superseded at runtime.

Disclosed divergence from the precedent this follows: #885's commits are NOT
members of #884's commit set and its diff did not land in any form. What
landed is a different, stronger fix for the same defect class
(GATEWAY_V1_PATHS + _resolve_gateway_tenant_from_request, merged at 0fa14c8f)
rather than #885's PUBLIC_V1_PATHS exemption. Supersession of the binding is
claimed; equivalence of the diffs is not.

Append-only proven by measurement: zero contract_entry_sha256 drift across all
10 pre-existing entries. Both checks RED-proven (3 controls / 2 controls).

Warning

Review limit reached

You’ve reached a temporary PR review limit under our Fair Usage Limits Policy.

Your recent review volume is higher than typical usage, so adaptive limits are currently applied.

Next review available in: 51 minutes

Enable usage-based reviews in Billing to review now. Otherwise, wait until the next included review is available.
You're only billed for reviews past your plan's rate limits ($0.25/file).

How can I continue?

After more reviews become available, a review can be triggered using the @coderabbitai review command as a PR comment. Alternatively, push new commits to this PR.

To avoid repeated limits, reduce automatic review volume by pausing incremental auto-reviews earlier, using label-based review opt-in, excluding WIP or generated PR titles, or requesting reviews manually when the PR is ready. If your team needs uninterrupted high-volume reviews, an organization admin can enable usage-based reviews.

How do review limits work?

CodeRabbit enforces per-developer PR review limits for each organization. Most developers receive the normal plan review availability.

For paid Pro and Pro+ PR reviews, CodeRabbit uses adaptive limits for sustained high-volume activity. When a developer's recent PR review activity reaches the 95th percentile or higher among CodeRabbit users, additional reviews become available more gradually as earlier reviews age out of the rolling window.

Please refer docs for additional details.

The contract can currently accept a failed source fetch as proof that the old gateway path is absent, which could allow an invalid evidence retirement to be recorded. This is a localized correctness issue that should be fixed before merge.

164-170: 🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick win

One absence predicate is copied to three sites. grep -c GATEWAY_ATTACH_PATH prints 0 when the upstream gh api fetch produces no output, and command substitution discards the pipeline exit status. A ref-specific fetch failure therefore satisfies the = "0" absence claim. Fix the contract entry first, then propagate the identical string.

  • contracts/OMN-15963.yaml#L164-L170: add a non-empty-content assertion for docker/onex-api/main.py at ref=dev before the GATEWAY_ATTACH_PATH absence assertion.

…lity

The first CI pass failed occ-preflight/eligibility and verify/verify with
reason=pr_ticket_mismatch: eligibility is evaluated per-PR and requires a PASS
receipt bound to this carrier, but every other artifact on this PR binds to
omninode_infra#884 (the landed carrier they assert).

Adds the contract's established occ-self-bind-pr-N artifact for #6453.
Hand-authored by the repair lane rather than the autobind emitter, so it is
source=manual unlike the generated sibling self-binds. Asserts BOTH the carrier
PR number and its head branch, RED-proven against a wrong branch name and
against the already-merged sibling companion (each exit 1).

Zero contract_entry_sha256 drift across all 10 pre-existing entries.
