chore(OMN-16933): remove CodeRabbit thread-gate workflows - #458
Conversation
Operator ruling 2026-08-29: "remove completely." CodeRabbit is removed entirely, not demoted to advisory. Deletes this repo cr-thread-gate.yml + cr-thread-gate-caller.yml and drops the stale CodeRabbit mention from auto-merge.yml header. No CodeRabbit context was required on this repo dev branch protection, so nothing strands. Ref: OMN-16933

OCC autobind did not mint a companion for this PR: no changed-file candidate could be proven RED against the merge base, and emitting a PR-existence probe instead would be non-falsifiable evidence (OMN-15247). Hand-authored evidence is required. |

#469) The workflow file was removed from this repo in #458 (OMN-16933, operator ruling 2026-08-29: "remove completely."), but the CI monitoring guide still listed it as an active gate that "Fails if unresolved CodeRabbit review threads exist". That row documents a file that no longer exists and a gate that is no longer required on any branch, so it sends anyone triaging CI looking for a check that can never report. Verified before removal: `gate / CodeRabbit Thread Check` is absent from `required_status_checks` on dev across all 12 registry repos, and `.github/workflows/cr-thread-gate.yml` is gone from this repo's tree. OMN-16933 — remove CodeRabbit entirely
Operator ruling (2026-08-29, verbatim): "remove completely."
CodeRabbit is removed entirely, not demoted to advisory. This supersedes the
2026-08-28 usefulness audit (
omni_home/docs/tracking/2026-08-28-coderabbit-usefulness-audit.md),which recommended keeping the reviewer and dropping only the gate.
What this PR does
.github/workflows/cr-thread-gate.yml.github/workflows/cr-thread-gate-caller.ymlauto-merge.yml's OMN-7786 header commentSequencing
Required-context references are removed before workflow files so no in-flight
PR strands on a check that can no longer be produced. This repo carried no
CodeRabbit context in
devbranch protection and none inEXPECTED_EXTERNAL_CONTEXTS, so there is nothing to strand here.Verified before this PR:
gh api repos/OmniNode-ai/<repo>/branches/dev/protection/required_status_checks --jq .contextsreturned noCodeRabbitentry. Not in scope
Downstream dead code (
node_coderabbit_triage,coderabbit_triageskills,pr_review_botthread-resolution duties) is tracked in OMN-16934.Ref: OMN-16933
