+1, no audio on my iMac 2017 (iMac 18,3, Cirrus Logic CS8409)...
I was using this (kernel module? don't really know what is it called) on Fedora Workstation, but I have no idea how to install it on NixOS...

add kernel config for Cirrus Logic HDA Bridge (Apple iMac/MacBook))

add support for the Cirrus Logic HDA Bridge CS8409, this will alllow a lot of Apple Intel iMac & MacBook Computer to have sound out-of-the-box, tested on MacBookPro14,1
