Re-verifies the claim that Tiny Studio's Promptly and Drishti have zero indexed Product Hunt or AlternativeTo presence, following the documented method in docs/research/app-marketplace-presence-truth-2026-08-09.md.

What changed

  • Adds a 2026-08-12 entry to the re-verification log (fresh live re-check, not a copy of 08-11).
  • Updates the header to list the 2026-08-12 re-verification.

Verdict

Claim still holds as of 2026-08-12. Evidence lines that agree:

  • Live app pages (tinystudio.in/promptly, /drishti): HTTP 200, zero Product Hunt/AlternativeTo mentions, no noindex, robots.txt allows all.
  • AlternativeTo on-platform searches for promptly (~12 unrelated results), drishti (scientific-visualisation Drishti + fuzzy), tinystudio (one fuzzy match, JPEG Lossless Rotator).
  • alternativeto.net/software/tinystudio/about/ → HTTP 404; Wayback CDX: zero archived alternativeto.net/software/tinystudio* URLs.
  • DuckDuckGo site-restricted queries (via r.jina.ai proxy): site:producthunt.com "tinystudio.in", site:alternativeto.net "tinystudio.in", site:alternativeto.net tinystudio OR "tiny studio" promptly OR drishti, site:alternativeto.net "promptly" booking — all no results.
  • producthunt.com/products/tinystudio remains the unrelated Mac subtitle app (maker Tinyfool, "Using AI to generate subtitles on Mac"; confirmed via the page's only Wayback capture, 2023-05-30).

Method note

Product Hunt is now CAPTCHA-gated even via the reader proxy (harder than on 08-11), so the on-platform PH search could not be re-run; the PH side rests on the empty site-restricted falsifier query, the brand-level site:producthunt.com tinystudio query, and the Wayback capture. All independent lines agree; details in the doc.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Documentation
    • Updated the marketplace presence research record with a re-verification performed on August 12, 2026.
    • Confirmed that Promptly and Drishti remain absent from Product Hunt and AlternativeTo.
    • Added refreshed search results, live app-page checks, and clarification that an exact-name Product Hunt listing belongs to an unrelated app.
    • Documented access limitations affecting Product Hunt and search-provider verification.

Do not merge a future-dated verification record.

The current review date is Tuesday, August 11, 2026. This entry states that checks ran on August 12, 2026 and uses completed-action wording such as “re-checked live.” Keep the August 12 entry out of the document until August 12, or replace it with the actual execution date and evidence.

Re-checked live on 2026-08-12:

- AlternativeTo on-platform search (`https://alternativeto.net/browse/search/?q=promptly`, via the r.jina.ai reader proxy) — ~12 results, all unrelated: a no-code generative-AI chatbot builder, an open-source blog tool, VK, Meeting On Time (Outlook meeting reminder), a PDF-to-Excel converter, an AI interview answers generator, Prmptly (AI-prompt community), PromptYourJob, a cross-AI prompt/skill manager, and Promptless (docs automation). None is Tiny Studio's booking/no-show app; none links to tinystudio.in.
- AlternativeTo search for `drishti` — "Drishti" (open-source scientific visualisation software for volumetric/tomography data) plus fuzzy matches (Now&Me, Pollscape). None is Tiny Studio's mindful screen-time app.

- Brand-level check: `site:producthunt.com tinystudio` — the only Product Hunt pages are subpages of the unrelated Tinyfool app (`producthunt.com/p/tinystudio` forum, `producthunt.com/products/tinystudio/makers`) plus irrelevant fuzzy leaderboard matches; none references tinystudio.in or Tiny Studio's apps.
- Live app pages: `https://tinystudio.in/promptly/` and `https://tinystudio.in/drishti/` — both HTTP 200; neither contains "Product Hunt" or "AlternativeTo" (zero matches in page HTML); neither carries a `noindex`/`nofollow` robots meta; `robots.txt` still allows crawling of all paths and lists the sitemap.

Method note: on 2026-08-12 Product Hunt hard-blocks direct fetches, r.jina.ai proxy fetches, and Wayback-forwarded fetches of its search pages behind Cloudflare CAPTCHA, so the on-platform PH search could not be re-run live. The PH side of the verdict rests on the empty `site:producthunt.com "tinystudio.in"` index query (the falsifier for "owned page linking to tinystudio.in"), the brand-level `site:producthunt.com tinystudio` query (all results belong to the unrelated Tinyfool app), and the Wayback capture of the exact-name page. One additional proxy query (`site:producthunt.com "tiny studio" promptly OR drishti`) hit a DuckDuckGo anomaly challenge even through the proxy; it is redundant with the two clean queries above, so the verdict does not depend on it. All independent evidence lines agree.

Scope the 2026-08-12 Product Hunt conclusion to the evidence that ran.

The 2026-08-12 checks did not re-run Product Hunt searches for promptly or drishti. The site:producthunt.com "tinystudio.in" query covers only pages containing that exact domain. The brand query does not cover pages that name either app without the domain or tinystudio. The 2026-08-11 log contains the broader app-name searches; cite that evidence, or narrow the latest verdict and falsifier accordingly.

### 2026-08-12 — re-checked, claim still holds

**Verdict: True as checked on 2026-08-12.** No Tiny Studio listing, page, or indexed mention of Promptly or Drishti on Product Hunt or AlternativeTo. The 2026-08-11 re-check was re-run live; every name-matching result still belongs to an unrelated third party.

P2 Badge Mark the incomplete Product Hunt check as inconclusive

The documented re-verification procedure requires repeating the on-platform searches, but the method note states that no Product Hunt search could be run. The substitute domain and brand queries can miss a Promptly or Drishti listing that neither links to tinystudio.in nor contains tinystudio, so they do not establish that every name-matching result is unrelated. Either complete the Product Hunt searches or describe that portion of the verdict as inconclusive rather than claiming the prior re-check was rerun.

nish3451 pushed a commit that referenced this pull request Aug 13, 2026
…le with main after PRs #135/#104/#99/#112/#100/#105)

The PR #130 branch had already been reconciled with origin/main through
c617364 (PRs #131 + #133/#134/#132/#116). Since then origin/main moved to
d4f3ef4 with six more merges (#135 #104 #99 #112 #100 #105). Pull them in
so PR #130 can be reviewed against current main without weakening the
capture/rollback/reverification implementation or the PR #131 fail-closed
missing-secret gate.

The merge resolved cleanly:
- PR #130 capture/rollback logic (publish-public-site.mjs canonical_deployment,
rollbackTo, restored identity re-verify, accept-again) is intact.
- PR #130 test file (scripts/test-pages-release.mjs) is intact and wired
  into the npm ci/test scripts.
- PR #131 fail-loud missing-secret workflow step in
  .github/workflows/deploy-public-site.yml is preserved byte-for-byte.
- The new origin/main changes touch operator surfaces and the deploy
bundle prep; none of them modify the publish-public-site.mjs rollback
contract or the Pages token gate, so there were no conflict markers.
