Finding your version number
X: Major version
Y: Minor version
Z: Build number
Check the build number (ZZZ in above diagram). If your number is equal to the listed one in the wiki as the latest RTM build, then you have the latest version. If your build number is less than the one listed on the wiki under RTM, then you need to consider upgrading. Note that other builds may have larger numbers. These are Stable, Beta, Nightly, and Dev builds.
Dev builds are closed to the public.
Nightly builds are a collection of all the commits the developers made that day. Nightly builds are NOT recommended for production use. They are untested and may be unstable.
Beta builds are slightly more stable and are (hopefully) free of system-breaking bugs. They may, however, have smaller bugs that can cause problems. Beta builds are acceptable for lab/testing purposes and PHP developers who know what they are doing.
Stable builds are builds that are mostly stable. They may not have all the features they will have at the time of a major release, but they are acceptable for low-risk RTM.
