Summary

  • treat DiscordAPIError[10062] (Unknown interaction) in /play as an interaction-expired path before error logging
  • guard deferReply() in /play and exit safely when the interaction already expired
  • add regression tests to ensure unknown interaction errors are ignored (no noisy error logs) in both defer and play-flow paths

Context

  • Addresses recurring Sentry issue LUCKY-1Y (DiscordAPIError[10062]) seen in production event f7c60a8f996642b9bfe014fe0c716ff6

Verification

  • node /Volumes/External HD/Desenvolvimento/Lucky/node_modules/.bin/jest --config packages/bot/jest.config.cjs packages/bot/src/functions/music/commands/play/index.spec.ts --runInBand ✅
  • node /Volumes/External HD/Desenvolvimento/Lucky/node_modules/.bin/jest --config packages/bot/jest.config.cjs packages/bot/src/functions/music/commands/autoplay.spec.ts --runInBand ✅
  • npm run type:check --workspace=packages/bot ❌ fails in shared preflight with existing env/toolchain issue: tsconfig.json(26,31): error TS5103: Invalid value for '--ignoreDeprecations'

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • Bug Fixes

    • The /play command now treats expired/unknown interactions as non-actionable, avoiding repeated error reports and performing a safe early exit when replies have already expired.
  • Tests

    • Added test coverage for expired/unknown interaction scenarios to ensure no unnecessary error logging or reply attempts.
  • Documentation

    • Updated changelog with the fixed interaction-expired behavior.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The /play command centralizes handling of Discord "Unknown interaction" (code 10062) by adding an error detector and safe reply helper, wrapping deferReply() in try/catch to early-return on expired interactions, and adding tests to verify silent exits instead of error logging.

Changes

Cohort / File(s) Summary
Core logic
packages/bot/src/functions/music/commands/play/index.ts, CHANGELOG.md
Added isUnknownInteractionError() and safeEditReply(); wrapped interaction.deferReply() to ignore unknown-interaction errors; replaced direct editReply calls with safeEditReply; moved unknown-interaction handling out of the main catch to centralize early exits.
Tests
packages/bot/src/functions/music/commands/play/index.spec.ts
Added three Jest tests covering: editReply rejecting during collaborative-limit path, deferReply rejecting with code 10062, and client play flow throwing code 10062 — asserting silent early exits and no error logging.

packages/bot/src/functions/music/commands/play/index.ts (1)

22-29: Nice helper extraction for error classification.

Centralizing this check avoids duplicated conditional logic and keeps the catch blocks cleaner.

packages/bot/src/functions/music/commands/play/index.spec.ts (1)

483-515: Good regression coverage for the two expiry entry points.

These tests directly protect the new behavior and prevent Sentry-noise regressions in defer and play-flow paths.

CHANGELOG.md (1)

10-13: Changelog entry is clear and release-ready.

It documents the behavioral fix and user-visible impact well.

20-29: LGTM!

The isUnknownInteractionError helper provides a clean type guard for detecting Discord's unknown-interaction error. The constant extraction and the type narrowing pattern are well-implemented.

104-109: LGTM!

The try/catch around deferReply() with early return on expired interactions is a clean pattern that addresses the PR objective of avoiding Sentry noise for error 10062.

117-135: LGTM!

The collaborative-limit path correctly uses safeEditReply and exits regardless of reply success. If the interaction expired, silently exiting is the intended behavior.

204-243: LGTM!

The error handling correctly filters out unknown-interaction errors before logging, preventing Sentry noise. The defensive try/catch around the error reply is appropriate since safeEditReply only handles 10062 errors and re-throws others.
