Are we still using the "generic'" fabric files?

When browsing through the input fabric_files I noticed that, aside from the verilog and the VHDL project template we also have the a directory called generic which contains both verilog and VHDL files and also .list files. The HDL files are quite similar to the ones in the respective language template, but not all 100% equal. When a project is created it seems like the files from the language template and not the ones from generic are taken. The .list files seem to be exactly the same both in the language specific templates and in generic. Also in the code I could not find a usage of the files in generic. Therefore the question asked in the title arises: Are we still using these files? Or could we probably remove the whole directory?

I don't think it is in use. All the files should be moved to the template folder
