Going forward, I suggest modifying the version number and release date in the template just prior to the release. It would also be helpful to include any new authors of major contributions in the template at each release. I'm not sure how the template will format the Description field (release notes), so I make that a generic link. I can continue to paste in the actual release notes in zenodo post-release.

A couple things. First, I will update the "cice.setup --setvers" to automatically update the zenodo json file as well. Will do that in Icepack too. Second, looks like the PR is coming off a branch in the CICE-Consortium fork. In general, we don't want that :). I will remove the branches.
