Low LED brightness levels are indistinguishable 

It's impossible to tell the difference between low brightness (<25%) / off states of the LED. In reality, LEDs start emitting some light at their center even with very low currents. For lower brightness levels, we should reduce the glow, but keep the core of the LED bright.
