The change adds unified agent capability and plugin configuration across backend, executor, collaboration UI, local APIs, and E2E coverage. It also adds default-assistant onboarding, new desktop scenarios, executor validation, and updated E2E classification.

Changes

Agent capability and collaboration flow

Layer / File(s) Summary
Capability contracts and backend execution
backend/app/schemas/*, backend/app/services/*, backend/tests/services/*
Bots now carry plugin lists and capability modes. Execution requests collect and filter plugin, Skill, MCP, and prompt-derived capability data.
Executor and local runtime integration
executor/src/*, executor_manager/*, wework/src/api/local/*
Agent metadata is persisted across executor and local APIs. Local skill deployment, workspace mounts, plugin catalogs, and executor submission validation are updated.
Shared agent forms and collaboration UI
packages/collaboration/src/agent-form/*, packages/collaboration/src/platform/*, packages/collaboration/src/project-agent-config/*
Shared forms support runtime, model, capability mode, Skills, plugins, MCP, prompt references, owner selection, and local agent creation or editing.
Default assistant and onboarding
packages/collaboration/src/CollaborationApp.tsx, packages/collaboration/src/SharedIssueDetailEditor.tsx, wework/src/features/todo/*
The current device can be presented as a default assistant. First-project creation uses one entry point, and executable issues can start the default assistant.
Desktop E2E and CI coverage
.github/*, wework/e2e/desktop/*, frontend/e2e/tests/*
Two collaboration scenarios are registered and classified. CI provisions MinIO and the Codex binary. E2E coverage validates local capabilities, plugins, and cloud device execution.

🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win

clone_bot drops plugins and capability_mode when cloning a bot.

_convert_to_bot_dict now returns plugins and capability_mode in bot_dict (see lines 1881-1882). clone_bot builds BotCreate from bot_dict but does not forward these two fields. Because BotCreate.plugins defaults to None and capability_mode defaults to "follow_device", cloning a bot that has plugins configured or that uses an explicit/manual capability_mode silently resets both on the clone.

Forward both fields from bot_dict.

🐛 Proposed fix to preserve plugins and capability_mode on clone
bot_create = BotCreate(
     name=new_name,
     shell_name=bot_dict["shell_name"],
     agent_config=bot_dict.get("agent_config") or {},
     system_prompt=bot_dict.get("system_prompt"),
     mcp_servers=bot_dict.get("mcp_servers"),
+    plugins=bot_dict.get("plugins"),
+    capability_mode=bot_dict.get("capability_mode", "follow_device"),

508-553: 📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | ⚡ Quick win

Extract the shared prompt change handler.

AgentFormDialog renders promptEditor instead of prompt at this call site, so both handlers cannot execute together. However, prompt remains the fallback field, and the repository requires shared logic to be extracted instead of duplicated. Define the handler once and pass it to both field objects.

♻️ Proposed refactor
+  const handlePromptChange = (value: string) => {
+    setSystemPrompt(value)
+    const references = resolveAgentPromptCapabilityReferences(
+      value,
+      availablePlugins,
+      availableSkills
+    )
+    if (references.pluginIds.size || references.skillIds.size) setCapabilityMode('manual')
+  }

Then use onChange: handlePromptChange in both the prompt and promptEditor field objects.

Validate capability_mode at mutation boundaries. BotCreate, BotUpdate, and BotSpec accept arbitrary strings. request_builder.py clears capabilities only for the exact value "follow_device", so an invalid value retains MCP servers, skills, and plugins as a manual-mode configuration. The executor create and update APIs also persist arbitrary values. Validate both allowed values, "follow_device" and "manual", in the backend models and in ChatAgentCreate and ChatAgentUpdate. Do not add this constraint only to response models, because existing invalid records could then fail response serialization.

This issue has been also reported in `#1636`. Those issues have been closed without being fixed. When enabling concurrent mode in React, the `t` function changes and creates extra renders. i18n.t is not doing that. For now, it&`#39`;s not major as concurrent mode is not enabled in production build but could become major in a futur react release. The issue seems to be in `useTranslation`. I am trying to find a fix and propose a PR. This issue will help to track the work. For now, concurrent mode is enabled with StrictMode. > You can use to help surface concurrency-related bugs during development. Strict Mode doesn’t affect production behavior, but during development it will log extra warnings and double-invoke functions that are expected to be idempotent. Source: react.dev ## To Reproduce In this codesandbox, you can se in the console that the useEffect on i18n is called **2** times and the useEffect on t is called **3** times. ```js import "./i18next"; import { useTranslation } from "react-i18next"; import { useEffect } from "react"; export default function App() { const { i18n, t } = useTranslation(); useEffect(() => { console.log("useEffect with i18n"); }, [i18n]); useEffect(() => { console.log("useEffect with t"); }, [t]); return i18n.t("text"); } ``` ## Expected behavior useEffect with t as dependency should be called **2** times. ## Timeline **woodreamz** commented on 2023-10-31T20:37:14Z: > It seems to be caused by: https://github.com/i18next/react-i18next/blob/461986289fe82a70a5ddae9078c7c7e68f86f7dd/src/useTranslation.js#L117 **qq831799** commented on 2024-01-16T01:53:14Z: > Same issue here, and my react-i18next version is 12.3.1 **timheilman** commented on 2024-01-31T20:30:24Z: > same issue here. Markdown versions of documentation pages are available by appending `.md` to page URLs; this page is available as Markdown. # Multiple Translation Files One of the advantages of react-i18next is based on i18next it supports the separation of translations into multiple files - which are called namespaces in i18next context -> as you&`#39`;re accessing keys from a namespace defining that as a prefix: So while this takes the translation from the defined default namespace: {% tabs %} {% tab title="JavaScript" %} ```jsx i18next.t(&`#39`;look.deep&`#39`;); ``` {% endtab %} {% tab title="TypeScript" %} ```tsx i18next.t($ => $.look.deep); ``` {% endtab %} {% endtabs %} This will lookup the key in a namespace (file) called common.json: {% tabs %} {% tab title="JavaScript" %} ```jsx i18next.t(&`#39`;common:look.deep&`#39`;); // not recommended with ns prefix when used in combination with natural language keys // better use the ns option: i18next.t(&`#39`;look.deep&`#39`;, { ns: &`#39`;common&`#39`; }) ``` {% endtab %} {% tab title="TypeScript" %} ```tsx i18next.t($ => $.look.deep, { ns: &`#39`;common&`#39`; }) ``` {% endtab %} {% endtabs %} In order to use multiple namespaces/translation files, you need to specify it when calling `useTranslation` : ```javascript const { t } = useTranslation([&`#39`;translation&`#39`;, &`#39`;common&`#39`;]); ``` `withTranslation`: ```javascript withTranslation([&`#39`;translation&`#39`;, &`#39`;common&`#39`;])(MyComponent); ``` or `Translation`: {% tabs %} {% tab title="JavaScript" %} ```jsx <Translation ns={[&`#39`;translation&`#39`;, &`#39`;common&`#39`;]}> { (t) => <p>{t(&`#39`;look.deep&`#39`;, { ns: &`#39`;common&`#39`; })}</p> } </Translation> ``` {% endtab %} {% tab title="TypeScript" %} ```tsx <Translation ns={[&`#39`;translation&`#39`;, &`#39`;common&`#39`;]}> { (t) => <p>{t($ => $.look.deep, { ns: &`#39`;common&`#39`; })}
} </Translation> ``` {% endtab %} {% endtabs %} ## Separating translation files In i18next you have a lot of options to add translations on init, in your code calling API methods or using one of the backend implementation. For a detailed write up check out the "Add or load translation guide on i18next.com". With react-i18next you can use any of the components passing down the `t` function to your components to load namespaces: - useTranslation (hook) - withTranslation (HOC) - Translation (render prop) All take arguments to define which namespaces to load and will Suspense rendering until those got loaded. So you do not need to load all translations upfront enabling you to create huge react based applications without slowing down loading of the first page cause all translations need to be loaded upfront (hello other i18n implementations). ## Manage your translations with a management GUI ### locize is the perfect translation management tool for your i18next project #### ➡️ i18next + locize = true continuous localization Here you can find a step by step guide, which will unleash the full power of i18next in combination with locize. See how your developer experience with this localization workflow could look like. There&`#39`;s also the possibility to have an even more focused developer experience, with the help of the auto-machinetranslation workflow and the use of the save missing keys functionality, new keys not only gets added to locize automatically, while developing the app, but are also automatically translated into the target languages using machine translation (like Google Translate). {% embed url=" https://youtu.be/osScyaGMVqo" %} {% embed url=" https://youtu.be/VfxBpSXarlU" %}
Namespace Management | i18next/react-i18next | DeepWiki
https://deepwiki.com/i18next/react-i18next/6.2-namespace-management This document describes how react-i18next manages translation namespaces, including namespace specification, loading behavior, and server-side rendering integration. Namespaces in i18next provide a way to organize translations into logical groups (e.g., `common`, `validation`, `dashboard`). react-i18next extends this with automatic loading, ready-state tracking, and server-side rendering support through namespace reporting. ... When multiple namespaces are loaded, the translation function searches them in order. The `nsMode` option controls this behavior. ... Namespace Resolution in useTranslation ... 1. Explicit `ns` parameter in `useTranslation(ns, props)` 2. `defaultNS` from `I18nextProvider` context (`I18nContext`) 3. `i18n.options.defaultNS` from i18next configuration 4. Fallback: `[&`#39`;translation&`#39`;]` ... The resolved namespaces are normalized to an array and memoized to prevent unnecessary re-renders. This makes selector calls with a secondary-namespace prefix resolve correctly under default `nsMode`: `t($ => $.nsB.foo)` previously missed silently because the bound `ns` was the primary string only and i18next&`#39`;s selector rewrite needed an array. Resolution semantics are unchanged — plain `t(&`#39`;key&`#39`;)` lookups still stay isolated to the primary namespace by default; use `nsMode: &`#39`;fallback&`#39`;` to opt into multi-ns fallback resolution as before. Fixes i18next#2429 for `useTranslation`-based callers. ... ### 15.7.4 ... - downgrade i18next dep to address 1865 ... - **Breaking** based on i18next changes made in v18.0.0 changing the language should not trigger a Suspense anylonger. The state will be ready and `t` bound to the previous language until `languageChanged` get triggered -> this results in a nicer experience for users (no flickering Suspense while changing the language). Based on issue "Suspence is fired during lang change when useTranslation called in between" 975 ... - the default bindI18n is now `languageChanged` and `languageChanging` was removed from that default ... - Adding `languageChanging` to bindI18n will bring back old behaviour where a language change will trigger a Suspense / ready: false while loading those new translations ... - You can now override the defaults in i18next.options.react for `bindI18n`, `bindI18nStore` and `useSuspense` in the hook by `useTranslation(ns, { bindI18n, bindI18nStore, useSuspense})` or in the HOC by passing those as props. ... ``` i18next.init({ // ... other options react: ... wait: false, withRef: false, bindI18n: &`#39`;languageChanged loaded&`#39`;, bindStore: &`#39`;added removed&`#39`;, nsMode: &`#39`;default&`#39`; } ... translate.setDefaults ... wait: false, withRef: false, bindI18n: &`#39`;languageChanged loaded&`#39`;, bindStore: &`#39`;added removed&`#39`;, nsMode: ... default&`#39`;, translateFuncName: &`#39`;t&`#39`;

Reset selectedModelKey only when runtime changes. The t returned by useTranslation('common') changes when i18next emits languageChanged. Because t is a dependency, a language change starts another model request. The successful response then clears the current selection even though runtime did not change.

Keep plugin assertions independent of prompt mentions.

The automation-chain test selects and persists the Codex plugin, but the system prompt also contains PLUGIN_NAME. The model-request assertion accepts either PLUGIN_NAME or PLUGIN_CONTENT_MARKER, so missing plugin propagation can still pass through the prompt text. Remove pluginMention and require PLUGIN_CONTENT_MARKER or structured plugin metadata.

The local-agent test has the same masked request assertion. Remove its plugin:// mention so serialized.includes(PLUGIN_NAME) cannot pass from fixture text. Keep the existing executor-log assertion because it independently checks that the selected plugin starts and exposes send_notification.

Handle a rejected listDevices() call.

The chain ends with .finally(...), which does not consume a rejection. If listDevices() rejects, the renderer reports an unhandled promise rejection, and Sentry records it. The inner Promise.all calls already use per-call catch, so only the outer call is unprotected.

Test configured-plugin propagation independently.

The system prompt contains PLUGIN_NAME and PLUGIN_ID. Therefore, serialized.includes(PLUGIN_NAME) can pass when the capability selector fails to persist or submit the selected plugin. The prompt mention can also start the plugin and satisfy the executor-log assertion.

Remove the plugin mention from this configured-capability path. Then assert the exact plugin or MCP tool metadata in body. Use a separate scenario if prompt-mention propagation also requires coverage.

Reset selectedModelKey only when the model list source changes, not on every t reference change.

The effect depends on t. The t function returned by useTranslation('common') gets a new reference on every i18next languageChanged event. Because t is only used for the error fallback message, this causes the effect to rerun and clear selectedModelKey on every language switch, even though scope and groupName did not change. A user who selects a model, then switches the UI language, loses the selection.

Keep the reset tied to the actual model-source dependencies (scope, groupName), and avoid re-running the whole fetch on language change.

The same t-in-dependency-array pattern also appears in the skills/plugins effect (Lines 99-139), causing redundant refetches on language change, though without a state-loss side effect there.

Remove the plugin prompt mention from this configured-capability path, or assert exact plugin/tool metadata.

The system prompt (Line 226) contains a plugin://{PLUGIN_ID} mention in addition to RUN_MARKER. Because of this, serialized.includes(PLUGIN_NAME) can pass even when the capability-mode selector fails to persist or submit the selected plugin. The prompt mention alone can start the plugin and satisfy this assertion.

Remove the plugin mention from the system prompt on this path. Then assert the exact plugin or MCP tool metadata in body that only the capability selector can produce. Use a separate scenario if prompt-mention propagation also needs coverage.

capability_mode accepts any string on the executor create/update API.

ChatAgentCreate.capability_mode and ChatAgentUpdate.capability_mode are unvalidated Option<String>. create_chat_agent and update_chat_agent persist the value verbatim, and map_chat_agent only derives a mode when the key is absent. A value other than "follow_device" or "manual" is then stored and returned, and consumers that compare against "follow_device" treat it as manual. Validate the value next to validate_chat_agent_runtime and validate_workspace_policy.

Please update macOS to keep using latest & greatest WebKit!
Docker | Playwright Python
https://playwright.dev/python/docs/docker Docker | Playwright Python On this page ## Introduction Dockerfile.noble can be used to run Playwright scripts in Docker environment. This image includes the Playwright browsers and browser system dependencies. The Playwright package/dependency is not included in the image and should be installed separately. ## Usage This Docker image is published to Microsoft Artifact Registry. info This Docker image is intended to be used for testing and development purposes only. It is not recommended to use this Docker image to visit untrusted websites. ### Pull the image docker pull mcr.microsoft.com/playwright/python:v1.62.0-noble ### Run the image By default, the Docker image will use the `root` user to run the browsers. This will disable the Chromium sandbox which is not available with root. If you run trusted code (e.g. End-to-end tests) and want to avoid the hassle of managing separate user then the root user may be fine. For web scraping or crawling, we recommend to create a separate user inside the Docker container and use the seccomp profile. #### End-to-end tests On trusted websites, you can avoid creating a separate user and use root for it since you trust the code which will run on the browsers. docker run -it --rm --ipc= host mcr.microsoft.com/playwright/python:v1.62.0-noble /bin/bash #### Crawling and scraping On untrusted websites, it&`#39`;s recommended to use a separate user for launching the browsers in combination with the seccomp profile. Inside the container or if you are using the Docker image as a base image you have to use `adduser` for it. docker run -it --rm --ipc= host --user pwuser --security-opt seccomp= seccomp_profile.json mcr.microsoft.com/playwright/python:v1.62.0-noble /bin/bash `seccomp_profile.json` is needed to run Chromium with sandbox. This is a default Docker seccomp profile with extra user namespace cloning permissions: { "comment": "Allow create user namespaces", "names": [ "clone", "setns", "unshare" ], "action": "SCMP_ACT_ALLOW", "args": [], "includes": {}, "excludes": {} ### Recommended Docker Configuration When running Playwright in Docker, the following configuration is recommended: 1. Using `--init` Docker flag is recommended to avoid special treatment for processes with PID=1. This is a common reason for zombie processes. 2. Using `--ipc=host` is recommended when using Chromium. Without it, Chromium can run out of memory and crash. Learn more about this option in Docker docs. 3. If seeing weird errors when launching Chromium, try running your container with `docker run --cap-add=SYS_ADMIN` when developing locally. ### Using on CI See our Continuous Integration guides for sample configs. ### Remote Connection You can run Playwright Server in Docker while keeping your tests running on the host system or another machine. This is useful for running tests on unsupported Linux distributions or remote execution scenarios. #### Running the Playwright Server Start the Playwright Server in Docker: docker run -p 3000:3000 --rm --init -it --workdir /home/pwuser --user pwuser mcr.microsoft.com/playwright:v1.62.0-noble /bin/sh -c "npx -y playwright@1.62.0 run-server --port 3000 --host 0.0.0.0" #### Connecting to the Server - Sync - Async from playwright. sync_api import sync_playwright with sync_playwright() as p: browser = p. chromium. connect("ws://127.0.0.1:3000/") from playwright. async_api import async_playwright async with async_playwright() as p: browser = await p. chromium. connect("ws://127.0.0.1:3000/") #### Network Configuration If you need to access local servers from within the Docker container: docker run --add-host= hostmachine:host-gateway -p 3000:3000 --rm --init -it --workdir /home/pwuser --user pwuser mcr.microsoft.com/playwright:v1.62.0-noble /bin/sh -c "npx -y playwright@1.62.0 run-server --port 3000 --host 0.0.0.0"…[truncated]
utils/docker/Dockerfile.noble
https://github.com/microsoft/playwright-python/blob/main/utils/docker/Dockerfile.noble # utils/docker/Dockerfile.noble - Branch: main - Repository: microsoft/playwright-python --- FROM ubuntu:noble ARG DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive ARG TZ=America/Los_Angeles ARG DOCKER_IMAGE_NAME_TEMPLATE="mcr.microsoft.com/playwright/python:v%version%-noble" ENV LANG=C.UTF-8 ENV LC_ALL=C.UTF-8 # === INSTALL Python === RUN apt-get update && \ # Install Python apt-get install -y python3 curl && \ # Align with upstream Python image and don&`#39`;t be externally managed: # https://github.com/docker-library/python/issues/948 rm /usr/lib/python3.12/EXTERNALLY-MANAGED && \ update-alternatives --install /usr/bin/python python /usr/bin/python3 1 && \ curl -sSL https://bootstrap.pypa.io/get-pip.py -o get-pip.py && \ python get-pip.py && \ rm get-pip.py && \ # Feature-parity with node.js base images. apt-get install -y --no-install-recommends git openssh-client gpg && \ # clean apt cache rm -rf /var/lib/apt/lists/* && \ # Create the pwuser adduser pwuser # === BAKE BROWSERS INTO IMAGE === ENV PLAYWRIGHT_BROWSERS_PATH=/ms-playwright # 1. Build the plugin archive with jszip instead of python3.

publishAndInstallPlugin invokes execFileAsync('python3', ...) before uploading the archive. CI runs this spec inside the JavaScript Playwright image, which does not include Python, so the setup can fail with ENOENT before the E2E assertions run. jszip@3.10.2 is already declared in frontend/package.json.

Build the archive with generateAsync({ type: 'nodebuffer' }), then remove the temporary-directory setup and cleanup.

Add focus management and a Tab trap to AgentFormDialog.

AgentFormDialog is rendered directly for creator and editor surfaces, outside the host dialog wrapper. It does not move focus into the modal, contain Tab, or restore focus when it closes. Keyboard users can lose focus or move focus behind the modal.

The creator flow has a parent Escape listener, but editor forms render with composerOpen false and have no Escape handler. Handle Escape in the shared dialog and ignore it while busy.

Reuse the focus lifecycle and Tab handling from ResourceDestinationDialog.

Implement the Tab branch with the same first/last enabled-control logic used by ResourceDestinationDialog.

Configure the Claude Code runtime in the agent form. nativeRuntime: 'claude_code' only controls plugin setup and test markers. The form defaults runtime to 'Codex', and the helper never changes that value before saving the Claude agent. The scenario therefore persists the Claude stage as Codex and does not establish the intended cross-runtime chain. Expose and select ClaudeCode through the form, or rename the scenario and expectations if Codex-only agents are intentional.
