Summary

  • Add a native human Issue workflow for direct assignees in cloud collaboration spaces: start work, submit a required completion summary, and receive an acceptance or rejection from the original assigner or a project owner/maintainer.
  • Surface assigned and reviewable Issues in My Work, and add clear work actions in the Wework Issue editor. Keep AI assistance optional during human work.
  • Record status history and project activity, notify participants, and guard transitions with locking, version checks, and idempotent request IDs.
  • Preserve human workflow status through delivery finalization and prevent generic status edits or board dragging from bypassing the review flow.
  • Distinguish an explicit human assignment from the automatic creator default, so existing board status behavior remains available until someone is deliberately assigned. Explicit self-assignment activates the human workflow.
  • Document the assignee and reviewer steps in the Chinese and English collaboration Issue guides.

Verification

  • Backend focused assignment and API checks: 21 passed; lifecycle and status checks: 13 passed; runtime status projection checks: 2 passed.
  • Wework focused component tests: 4 passed in the final run; earlier focused component suite: 42 passed.
  • Wework typecheck, collaboration package build, ESLint, Prettier, Black/isort, and syntax checks passed.
  • Local real-Electron E2E: pnpm --filter wework e2e:desktop --segment project-assignment-notification passed (1m42s). It covers assignment notification, access denial, start, AI assistance, delivery evidence, submission, reviewer acceptance, Issue synchronization, duplicate assignment, and self-assignment notification behavior.
  • Local real-Electron E2E: pnpm --filter wework e2e:desktop --segment collaboration-settings-matrix passed (1m30s). It covers the existing local Issue lifecycle and the cloud human Issue start, assist, submit, and accept path.
  • Both desktop checkpoints are registered in the CI desktop runner. The existing Platform E2E board test was updated for the human assignment boundary.

Summary by CodeRabbit

  • New Features
    • Added a workflow for directly assigned Issues: start work, submit results, and accept or request changes.
    • Added human-work actions, review queues, evidence attachments, notifications, chat updates, and status history.
    • Added clearer work-item sections for assigned work, items awaiting review, and other work.
  • Bug Fixes
    • Human-assigned Issues no longer complete automatically when deliveries are finalized.
    • Reassignment and automated updates now preserve appropriate human-work status.
    • AI assistance no longer selects an unrelated project automatically.
  • Documentation
    • Added English and Chinese guidance for working on assigned Issues.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The change adds a human Issue workflow for direct assignments. Assignees can start and submit work. Authorized reviewers can accept or request changes. Backend state, notifications, chat messages, delivery behavior, collaboration UI, tests, documentation, project selection, and readiness checks now support this workflow.

🚀 Performance & Scalability | 🟠 Major | 🏗️ Heavy lift

Avoid a per-item activity scan in response_values.

human_issue_work_service.view calls _assignment, which calls issue_assignment_service.active_for_issue. That helper loads every non-deleted LoopItemComment row of the issue. response_values runs for each item of list and board endpoints, so a board with N issues now performs N extra comment scans plus N project lookups.

Batch the active-assignment lookup for the requested item ids, or compute human_work only for single-item responses and pass a precomputed assignment map into view for list responses.

🚀 Performance & Scalability | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win

Bound the review-candidate query and its per-candidate view calls.

review_candidates selects every in_review issue with a submitted human_work state across all of the user's projects, with no limit. Each candidate then calls human_issue_work_service.view, which reads the project and scans all activity comments of that issue. In a workspace with many submitted issues, one My Work request performs one comment scan per candidate before the result is truncated to limit.

Apply .limit(limit) to the candidate query, and resolve assignments for the candidate set in one query instead of once per candidate.

When a native cloud project Issue is assigned directly to one member, they can open it from **Collaboration → My Work → Assigned to me** or the project board. Wework sends a desktop notification when another member assigns it. This workflow does not apply to external task sources or Issues owned by robots or collaboration groups.

1. Select **Start work** to move the Issue to **In progress**. Add progress, comments, and attachments in its details. Select **Ask AI for help** to create a linked task when AI help is useful.
2. When the work is ready, select **Submit for review** and enter a completion summary. The Issue moves to **Pending review**, and the summary is saved in the project conversation.

Use the board status name "In review".

The guide calls the submitted state "Pending review". The board status label in wework/src/i18n/locales/en/common.json is "In review" (task_board_status_in_review and status_in_review). Step 3 of this section also refers to "My Work → To review". Use one term for the status so readers can match the documentation to the UI.

🎯 Functional Correctness | 🟠 Major | ⚡ Quick win

Align the attachment remove and paste guards with canAddEvidence.

These sections now render attachment controls for evidence submitters, and TodoAttachmentSection renders a remove button whenever editable is true. removeAttachment at line 1701 still returns early when !editable, so an assignee who is not an editor clicks remove and nothing happens, with no error shown. The backend allows the delete for this user: LoopItemService._attachment_action returns IssueAction.COMMENT when can_submit is true. pasteAttachments at line 1624 has the same mismatch, so pasted files are dropped silently.

The same editable || canAddEvidence value is passed at lines 3477 and 3857, so all three sections show the dead control.

🐛 Proposed fix for the two guards
   function pasteAttachments(files: File[]) {
     if (isCreate) {
       setPendingFiles((current) => [...current, ...files]);
       return;

Do not accept failed HTTP probes through the TCP fallback.

When both curl --fail probes reject an HTTP 4xx/5xx response, nc -z still succeeds on the fifth and later attempts if the port is listening. probe_service_readiness then returns success as responding, so startup can report the failed HTTP service as ready. Distinguish connection failures from HTTP failures, or remove the TCP success path for HTTP services.
