Summary of Changes

Hello @nicolasj92, I'm Gemini Code Assist1! I'm currently reviewing this pull request and will post my feedback shortly. In the meantime, here's a summary to help you and other reviewers quickly get up to speed!

This pull request addresses a bug in the observability stack's installation script. The core change involves correcting a file path within a Helm command to ensure that a critical configuration file, "kube-prom-stack.yaml", is correctly located relative to the script's execution directory. This fix prevents potential errors during the deployment of the observability stack by ensuring all necessary files are found.

Highlights

  • Observability Install Script Fix: Corrected the path for "kube-prom-stack.yaml" in the "helm upgrade" command within "observability/install.sh" by prepending "$SCRIPT_DIR/".

Code Review

This pull request correctly fixes a path issue in the install.sh script by prepending $SCRIPT_DIR to the YAML file path, ensuring the script can be run from any directory. My review includes a suggestion to improve the script's robustness by adding error handling.

--namespace monitoring \
--create-namespace \
-f kube-prom-stack.yaml --wait
-f "$SCRIPT_DIR/kube-prom-stack.yaml" --wait

To make the script more robust, consider adding error handling. If this helm command fails, the script will continue executing, which might lead to an inconsistent state or confusing errors. Appending || exit 1 will cause the script to exit if this command fails.

For consistency, the same logic should be applied to the other helm command in this script. A more idiomatic way to handle this for the entire script would be to add set -e at the top.

Suggested change
-f "$SCRIPT_DIR/kube-prom-stack.yaml" --wait
-f "$SCRIPT_DIR/kube-prom-stack.yaml" --wait || exit 1
