This role deploys Apache Cassandra, currently 1.2.X versions, and is usually invoked as a dependency role by the Priam role.

In the case of building an all-in-one development environment, which may not be within EC2, we cannot deploy Priam, as it strictly requires deployment within the cloud. Under this scenario, Cassandra is deployed alone.
