OpenMath is an emerging standard for representing mathematical objects with their semantics, allowing them to be exchanged between computer programs, stored in databases, or published on the worldwide web.
The OpenMath standard has existed for a long, long time. However, the target of OpenMath doesn't seem to have been the developers in open source communities. So, as the official project is easy to find inaccesible, the OpenMath Unofficial project aims to promote and facilitate the use of this standard to OpenMath enthusiasts.
Any curious developer is encouraged to visit openmath.org to explore the current status of the project. Our experience, which includes finding a clear introductory tutorial and a comprehensible explanation of the whole standard, has been marred by other outdated documentation, obsolete software, and broken links. Our project's purpose is aligned with the goals of the OpenMath Society. We aim to provide complementary, accessible documentation and to develop software independently and collaboratively, adopting a modern open-source project management philosophy.
In this wiki we try to reorganize usable existing documentation and complement it with our own, to create a more clear roadmap to learn about OpenMath, how to use it and how to contribute.

As this project is still in development, more documentation shall be coming soon!
