Merging this cos of the urgency. Unfortunately a test to catch this case is not in place because it's quite tricky to set up a test that covers for such details. I have added to the chagelog for this to be prioritised, in order to catch future cases. |

this was left out from this change. It wasn't spotted all this while because the controller is only called when you are running multiple instances of companion in different domains (which is not a very common use case).
