fix(video): log polling error responses - #3693
Conversation
WalkthroughThe mock video endpoint now supports per-video status and body overrides. Video polling preserves, trims, and caps raw upstream response text at 4,000 characters. Gateway tests verify capped errors in job, polling, and log records. ChangesVideo polling error handling

Cap the polling error body before persistence
When a generic video provider returns an unusually large non-2xx body, such as a proxy HTML page or base64 payload, the entire response is now embedded in the thrown error. The polling loop logs that value on every retry and stores it in llmgateway_last_poll_error; on the final retry it is duplicated across the failed response and resulting log payload. With no length limit, one upstream response can therefore create oversized log events and heavily bloated JSONB rows. Preserve a bounded diagnostic prefix, consistent with the existing 2–4 KB caps on other upstream response logs.

Avoid splitting Unicode surrogates when truncating errors
When a non-BMP character such as an emoji straddles the 4,000-code-unit boundary, slice() leaves a lone UTF-16 surrogate in upstreamContents. Serializing that value produces an unpaired \ud8xx escape, which PostgreSQL rejects when the polling catch stores it in the upstreamStatusResponse JSONB column; the error counter is therefore not advanced, the job remains stuck, and the rest of the claimed polling batch is skipped. Truncate on Unicode scalar boundaries before persisting the diagnostic.

Problem
Video status polling failures discarded nonstandard upstream error bodies. xAI 400 responses could therefore be logged with only the HTTP status, hiding the actionable failure detail.
