Common issues to check in apps

A list of some common issues that occur in custom ROMs with microG or no Google Services:

  • Notifications not working: Push notifications may fail to sync or appear due to missing Google FCM service or incompatible notification frameworks.
  • Location services problems: For navigation apps like Google Maps, GPS or location-based services might not work properly or with reduced accuracy without Google Services.
  • Unable to make payments or in-app purchases: Without Google Play Store and services, apps like Google Pay or other payment methods may fail to authenticate or process transactions.
  • Sign in issues: Google account integration might be broken or incomplete, preventing sign-ins or syncing with Google services like Gmail, Google Calendar etc.
  • Limited background usage: Apps may be restricted from running in the background due to lack of Google Services, resulting in delays or data syncing issues.
  • Increased battery usage: Without Google Services, certain apps may consume more battery.

Apps submission procedure

  1. Select Installed apps from the bottom navigation menu.
  2. Tap on an app you want to submit rating for.
  3. Tap on the Rate button at the bottom.
  4. If submitting for the first time:
    • Select the current installed ROM on your device from the dropdown.
    • Verify your email.
  5. Select a Status (Gold, Bronze etc.) and optionally enter a note about the respective app.
  6. Tap on ☑️ at the bottom.
