  • Our customer is the non-profit organization Voluntary Action Harrow.

  • Voluntary Action Harrow (VAH) is a co-operative non-profit group that supports the activities of charities and non-profits in the borough of Harrow in NorthWest London by providing services such as Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) checking, Trustee training workshops etc.

  • A number of charities were initially approached as part of a co-ordinated effort to find clients for "unofficial" EdX SaaS class projects. Those efforts were co-ordinated through this spreadsheet and letter template:

  • VAH was never contacted directly. Their office is next to Harrow Bereavement Counselling (HBC) who were contacted, and VAH then contacted the project team directly.

  • The Local Support project has weekly meetings with VAH and as been doing so for over 20 weeks now. After 10 weeks of exploratory meetings efforts focused on a directory service for local non-profits, and the Local Support Rails app began development.
