Problematic behavior

It is important to define a default background color. Users with visual impairments may have difficulty distinguishing between different areas of the interface.

Expected behavior/code
The left block (highlighted in yellow) has no default background color defined. (see screenshot)

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open Docs and connect to a docs
2. Use an extension “Stylus” (https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/stylus/clngdbkpkpeebahjckkjfobafhncgmne)
3. Add style : html { background: yellow!important; }
4. And then see the yellow background

Possible Solution
Add a color background.
