📝 WalkthroughWalkthroughThe change expands dev-dependency synchronization across project metadata, requirements files, and selected pre-commit revisions. It adds validated regeneration of uv-compiled requirements locks and updates the Maint 52 workflow to run lock resolution. ChangesDev Dependency Synchronization

Accept uv's canonical plural constraint options
Generated locks whose recorded command uses uv's valid long-form constraint options now fail closed as unsupported. Checked uv pip compile --help: it defines -c, --constraints <CONSTRAINTS> and --overrides <OVERRIDES>, whereas this allowlist accepts the nonexistent singular forms --constraint and --override; the corresponding source-file check on line 425 repeats those spellings. Any consumer that generated its lock with either documented long option will therefore abort Maint 52 before publication.

Exercise transitive regeneration during dry runs
When a consumer's direct pins already match but its generated requirements lock has stale transitive dependencies—the exact regression this change is intended to detect—a dry_run skips the resolver entirely, so the preceding direct-pin check leaves has_changes=false and the workflow reports no proposed update. Because the workflow input is documented as previewing changes, run the resolver in the disposable checkout for dry runs as well and use the resulting diff without publishing it.

Fleet ownership receipt at head e3c4af5: this is the source-owned Maint52 transitive-lock repair for the failing generated deps/sync-dev-versions-34572ab72851 wave. It retains its existing source author and Sync Dependency PR Closer (sync-dependency-pr-closer, verified ACTIVE on FREQ=HOURLY;INTERVAL=2;BYMINUTE=25). Next action: source author resolves the current review finding and CI failure at the exact head; receiving maintenance worker validates accepted source, normal checks/suite/thread/seven-minute gates and guarded source merge, then Maint52 regenerates the unsatisfiable15-PR wave and Maint71 owns generated review, settlement and merging. Resume on source-author push/reviewer/check change or the next active maintenance pass. Workflows#1836 remains campaign coordination. Orphan steward will not duplicate that source repair or edit generated delivery branches. |

@codex review current exact head 67a1272. The prior general/targeted reviews completed on13a; this head repairs four concrete independent Sol counterexamples with eight deliberate RED/GREEN controls: pyproject extras/marker preservation, qualified-group actual local input validation, output containment before all direct writes, and final apply capture for transitive-only preview. No older finding acceptance is treated as a whole-PR verdict. |

@codex review current exact head 2eb7c54. The67a general review completed before this request. This head repairs the remaining inline extras boundary reproduced through sync_pyproject: three deliberate RED inline examples plus three multiline controls now all pass;125 relevant tests PASS. Prior specific finding dispositions remain separate from the overall verdict. |

Closer gate receipt at 9c44e93: bounded current GraphQL inventory shows OPEN/BLOCKED and no authoritative Gate report. Missing expected checks remain UNKNOWN; a successful CodeRabbit status and bounded ordinary Sol review do not establish full required topology or deployed consumer acceptance. REST is exhausted, so no merge and no speculative rerun. Existing maint52 owner/closer resumes at check_checks_reported.py for this exact head plus full suites/reviews once reporter access is available. Do not duplicate implementation or promote source-only evidence to consumer delivery. |

Review concern disposition: pipefail uncertainty DECLINED as defect: both apply steps explicitly set -euo pipefail (lines200/252 at89be), so resolver pipeline failures propagate. Unsupported provenance flags remain intentionally fail-closed, not a relaxation request. Mock suite does not itself prove solver execution; actual Maint5237556039935 produced all15 replacement locks with newtransitives and Maint71 mergedall15, with inspected reports; retain this separate deployment proof. Parser complexity/regex maintainability accepted as a follow-up risk, not evidence that acceptance is unmet. No new source edit or redundant compare dispatched. |
Summary
Repair source-owned Maint 52 propagation: changing mypy's direct pin without
re-resolving its transitive requirements produced an unsatisfiable dev-tool wave.
Preserve recorded lock extras/platform scope, fail closed on unsupported recipes
or resolver failure, and regenerate even when the direct pin check already passes.
Tasks
Acceptance Criteria
Validation
Actual uv resolver RED: mypy==2.4.0 plus ast-serialize==0.6.0 fails as unsatisfiable.
Candidate regeneration resolves ast-serialize==0.12.1 and librt==0.16.0 while retaining
the recorded dev extra/universal flags; the same clean-install dry-run then succeeds.
No packages were installed by that dry-run.
78 focused script/pre-commit/workflow/naming tests PASS; 47 manifest compiler tests PASS.
Black, Ruff, diff whitespace, exact template sync and strict template completeness PASS.
Initial new helper tests deliberately failed before implementation. One test invocation
from the reproduction directory had six path errors; rerunning from the repository root
passes. These path errors are not product failures or suppressed expectations.
Independent Sol rejected the first head's hashed-pin constraint gap; it is adopted,
not treated as acceptance. Deliberate hashed/plain canonical upgrade replay,
consumer baseline .txt, external output symlink, unchanged-lock, plural uv
constraints/overrides and dry-run preview controls failed before their repairs
and now pass. Both workflow branches use final git diff rather than update text;
dry runs resolve in the disposable checkout without publishing. Source/template
pre-commit repository normalization uses an exact domain-segment comparison.
The group-only uv compile recipe validates its implicit local pyproject.toml;
its deliberate missing-input and pre-fix unsupported-input controls pass.
Current-head ordinary Sol assessment 00396310 rejected four further defects;
all eight deliberate counterexample controls failed on 13a0875 and now pass:
valid dependency extras/markers, actual explicit group paths, containment before
any direct write, and transitive-only final apply summaries. Canonical updates
retain extras before the version, markers unchanged, and validate all prospective
write destinations before touching pyproject or lock files. The broader REJECT
is retained until a fresh exact-head assessment; specific no-op finding acceptance
does not approve the whole PR.
Assessment a6c69de8 confirmed those four repairs but reproduced a pre-existing
inline-array matcher bug through sync_pyproject, not just its helper. Six new
end-to-end inline/multiline extras controls yielded three RED and three existing
GREEN; the quote-aware inline boundary repair now passes all six. No test was
weakened or finding-specific acceptance promoted to whole-PR acceptance.
Current-head marker-qualified occurrence repair
Codex finding4195701028 is adopted. Four new cases deliberately failed on2eb
when the last duplicate was canonical but an earlier version/operator was stale;
four ordering/no-op controls already passed. All eight now pass, preserving each
marker and extras and proving a second apply is a no-op. Current9c44e938b28991652f721c16bb7f27c80cae49a9
passes98 helper/precommit/workflow/manifest-delivery tests, Black/Ruff, source/template
parity and whitespace checks. Completed ordinary Sol assessment67c7abef returned
finding-specific and bounded overall PASS on the full immutable9c44e938b28991652f721c16bb7f27c80cae49a9.
It independently replayed4RED/4controls on2eb and8GREEN on current source/template,
5184 additional marker/check/apply/no-op cases,40 transitive checks and8 workflow
assertion tests. This is bounded source review, not deployed consumer acceptance.
One invocation named nonexistent tests/test_sync_manifest.py and ran no tests;
the corrected named suite above is the reported validation.
Campaign coordination (not implementation tasks)
Workflows#1836 is background coordination, not this local repair's implementation issue.
Current failing generated wave: deps/sync-dev-versions-34572ab72851, 15 in-scope PRs.
PAE#2337 Gate37438852745 explicitly reports the mypy/ast-serialize conflict; Trend#6077
has the same active P1. After guarded source merge, Maint 52 owns regeneration and
Maint 71 exclusively owns generated review disposition, settlement and merging.
No generated branch/thread edits, keepalive routing label, human-reply requirement
or merge-gate bypass.
