Closes #

What I did

This PR adds tests and stories to cover the new different types of supported inputs

Arg From Control
count, --demo-wc-counter-badge-opacity number attribute, <number> CSS property number
disabled boolean attribute boolean
label, slots, parts, states string text
size 3-literal union radio
tone 6-literal union select
badges Array<'new' | 'hot' | 'sale'> multi-select
unit object object
deadline Date date
--demo-wc-counter-accent <color> CSS property color
count-changed, increment, atMax event, method, readonly none
  • Its play stories cover how the default render binds each arg: properties, attributes, -event with fn(), -slot, -part, -state and -- CSS custom properties.
  • The e2e spec runs one test per row: { arg, control, input, expected }, for example count filled with 7 shows 7 stars.
  • argTypes cannot be read in play under server docgen, so Controls input kinds are checked in the e2e spec rather than in stories.
  • The baseline reader also skips Web Components template stories that reference their component through a global.

How to review

Order Files What to check
1 code/lib/cli-storybook/src/sandbox-templates.ts Both Lit templates point at their manifests.
Only default-ts sets componentsManifest, which adds it to the docgen baseline gate.
enablesDocgenServer accepts @storybook/web-components.
2 template/stories_lit-vite-default-ts/demo-wc-counter/DemoWcCounter.js
template/stories_lit-vite-default-ts/custom-elements.json
Each JSDoc tag or field is one row of the Summary table.
The manifest is generated by the analyzer, so skim it.
3 template/stories_lit-vite-default-ts/demo-wc-counter.stories.js Each story is args in → play assertions out, one binding rule per story.
4 code/e2e-sandbox/framework-web-components.spec.ts Read the tables at the top: CONTROL_KINDS, NO_CONTROL_ROWS, CONTROL_EDITS, DOCS_ROWS.
The helpers at the bottom only turn a row into Playwright calls.
5 code/lib/docgen-harness/src/sandbox-baselines/read-static-docgen.ts
read-static-docgen.test.ts
A one-line rule that skips template stories referencing their component through a global, plus its test cases.
6 code/lib/docgen-harness/src/sandbox-baselines/__baselines__/lit-vite-default-ts/*.json Recorded output, so skim it.
The counter baseline should match the Summary table.
— code/lib/cli-storybook/src/sandbox-templates.test.ts Skip: one expectation updated.

The template/ paths are under code/renderers/web-components/.## Checklist for Contributors

Walkthrough

The Lit TypeScript sandbox adds a counter component, manifest-based docgen configuration, stories, and browser tests. The changes also add docgen baselines and extend filtering for globally referenced payloads.

Changes

Lit Web Components sandbox and docgen

Layer / File(s) Summary
Counter element implementation
code/renderers/web-components/template/stories_lit-vite-default-ts/demo-wc-counter/*
Adds a Lit counter with configurable properties, increment behavior, event dispatch, custom state, styling, and rendering. Registers it as demo-wc-counter.
Manifest metadata and counter stories
code/renderers/web-components/template/stories_lit-vite-default-ts/custom-elements.json, code/renderers/web-components/template/stories_lit-vite-default-ts/demo-wc-counter.stories.js
Describes the counter’s members and styling hooks in a Custom Elements Manifest. Adds stories that check attributes, properties, events, slots, CSS hooks, and custom state.
Sandbox framework configuration
code/lib/cli-storybook/src/sandbox-templates.ts, code/lib/cli-storybook/src/sandbox-templates.test.ts
Configures the Lit Vite templates to use the Web Components framework and manifest paths. Enables componentsManifest for the TypeScript template and includes the Web Components renderer in the docgen-server check.
Docgen and browser coverage
code/lib/docgen-harness/src/sandbox-baselines/__baselines__/lit-vite-default-ts/*, code/e2e-sandbox/framework-web-components.spec.ts
Adds docgen baselines for the card, counter, and script stories. Adds end-to-end checks for Controls, counter output, Actions logging, and docs ArgTypes.

Global-reference filtering

Layer / File(s) Summary
Filter global references
code/lib/docgen-harness/src/sandbox-baselines/read-static-docgen.ts, code/lib/docgen-harness/src/sandbox-baselines/read-static-docgen.test.ts
Excludes payloads when their names start with globalThis or their error messages contain a backtick-quoted globalThis. reference. Tests cover both cases.

A zero step can trigger a count-changed event even though the displayed count does not change. This is limited to inputs that set step to zero; avoid emitting the event for no-op increments.

- Line 143: Update increment() so it dispatches count-changed only when the
count actually changes; compare the next count with the current count before
dispatching, including when step is zero.
