Moving to M4 as this is most likely at this point. smaldini this is the branch with the work-in-progress changes.

Is this actually going to be available in M4? We currently can't run an IO Cairo compatibility plan for Spring Integration because Cairo pulls in reactor 3.

If the changes aren't available in M4, it's going to have a pretty bad knock-on effect. We had hoped to have Spring Framework 5-compatible snapshots of everything available by the end of November. We're going to miss that goal. If these changes miss Spring Framework M4, we'll also miss the current goal of having a Spring Boot 2.0 M1 out in January 2017 as it requires Spring Framework 5-compatible milestones, release candidates, or releases of everything upon which it depends.

If I can do anything that will help to ensure that this doesn't slip again, please do let me know.
