Become a sponsor to Jessica Lyschik
Hi, I'm Jessica. I’m a Frontend Developer from Germany. I've been using WordPress since 2005 and switched to working full time in WordPress development in 2015.
Before the pandemic, I regularly attended, volunteered, organized and gave talks at meetups, WordCamps and other conferences. I mainly contributed to the community aspect of WordPress at that time.
In November 2018, shortly before WordPress 5.0 and the new block editor were released, I created a side project called the Gutenberg-Fibel, a kind of "missing manual" in German for the block editor. Ever since it has helped many people understand the block editor and I regularly receive positive feedback from users, developers and agencies.
In autumn of 2020, I was part of the all-women and non-binary identifying release squad of WordPress 5.6 in the role of the Default Theme Wrangler. I've also contributed to several other WordPress versions, including 5.3, 5.4, 5.7, 5.9, 6.1 and 6.2.
In 2022, I took a sabbatical and learning break for five months, before joining a product company.
In 2023, I'm again volunteering as Default Theme lead for the second women and non-binary release squad for the WordPress 6.4 release. I'm also the lead organizer of WordCamp Germany, scheduled to happen in October 2023.
A sponsorship would enable me to further devote time to the WordPress project and community in any form like code, talks, projects and community work.
