Fails to import settings file #521
Comments
Hi @Azirine, I've tried importing both settings with v0.22.12 and could not reproduce this issue. What version of Chameleon are you using? |
I am using v0.22.12.1 with Firefox. The settings files from the link says "version":"0.21.2.2", and importing has worked for me with v0.21.2.2 in the past. Changing the version in the json file to match the version of Chameleon being used has once worked with certain versions newer than v0.21.2.2 but older than v0.22.12.1. However, this doesn't work any more with the current version. If you export a settings file from v0.22.12.1, it is in a different format than the sample ones, and I am able to import a settings from exported from v0.22.12.1. A possible fix would be to update the format of the sample settings file to match the format of those that are exported from v0.22.12.1. |
@Azirine Thanks for the detailed information. Chameleon does support importing settings from older versions (even pre-v0.20). I've tried importing the settings using Firefox on Windows and I encountered successful/unsuccessful imports with the same file. After a few imports, it seems the export is also missing the version information so there seems to be a bug somewhere that needs to be resolved. In the meantime, I'll update the settings on the wiki. |
@Azirine v0.22.13 fixes a bug that caused the issue on new installs. I've also updated the wiki with the latest settings. Thanks for reporting this issue! |
Expected Behavior
Downloading settings file from here and importing into Chameleon will import settings into Chameleon.
Current Behavior
Settings cannot be imported into Chameleon. Gets error message, 'Could not import file'.
