Metr - A Reliable Offline Metronome for Windows

Metr is a simple and lightweight metronome application designed for musicians who need a reliable, offline tool for keeping time during practice sessions. Tired of dealing with internet connectivity issues or carrying around your phone? Metr is here to help! It runs natively on Windows and MacOs and doesn't require an internet connection to function.

Features

  • Offline Use: No need for an internet connection, perfect for practice rooms with limited or no connectivity.
  • Adjustable Tempo: Easily set your tempo with precise control.
  • Simple and Intuitive UI: A clean interface that allows you to start practicing right away.
  • Multi Platform: Metr uses Electron to have one code base for all supported platforms.
  • Tap Tempo: Quickly set your tempo by tapping along with the beat.

Why Metr?

Many existing metronome tools, especially executables for Windows, can be cumbersome or require an internet connection. "Metr" was created specifically to address these frustrations, providing musicians with an easy, offline solution to help them stay on beat without relying on external devices or internet access.

Once downloaded, simply open the .exe file to start using Metr. There's no installation required, just open and use.

3. Enjoy your practice sessions!

Metr will open with the default tempo, but you can easily adjust it using the controls on the main screen.

Usage

  1. Set the Tempo: Use the slider or input field to adjust the tempo to your desired speed.
  2. Start/Stop: Click the "Start" button to begin the metronome. Click "Stop" to pause it.

  • Support for custom time signatures: Currently, Metr supports only common time signatures. We will be adding support for others like 5/4, 7/8, etc.
  • Save Presets: Save favorite tempo and sound settings for quick access during practice.
