05 – Complements

Additional to the various modifiers, complements can be set to sentences with the following method:

addComplement("aus Italien");

When a complement and a post-modifier is set to a phrase, the complement is placed first, and then the post-modifier is added. Complements are placed after both parts of a separable verb, and not in between, like a modifier. Just like in SimpleNLG English, if an object is added to the sentence, a complement added to the sentence is placed after both the verb and the object.

Examples of complements are italicized in the sentences below:

  1. Mary ist glücklich.
  2. Mary ist größer als Tom.
  3. Mary läuft in den Park.
