Scope

Record the historical September 30 scheduled memory/RAG observation: generation 17,318 failed after five queue attempts with provider HTTP 429 usage_limit_reached, while retrieval, service transport and publication remained healthy. Add a dated paragraph that records the receipt's host attribution: the receipt has no host field, and its systemd units and recorded build lineage match the WSL2 authoring laptop's records, not the workstation. The paragraph also states that the observation predates the 2026-10-02 two-host decision, whose scope is macOS and the workstation only, so it is not evidence about the Mac memory owner, the workstation or current consolidation health.

  • Base commit: 4ced2923063db6a6dcafa9f25af5ee05a4153c75.
  • Lane: lane:foundation.
  • Owned paths: docs/native-memory-rag-lifecycle.md, observability/memory-scheduled-20260930.json; final registration in manifests/evidence.json.

SOTA sources

  • akitaonrails/ai-memory, pin 353841d91618d20b110b208de284a74d0b960379: crates/ai-memory-store/src/session_consolidation.rs, crates/ai-memory-cli/src/commands/serve.rs, crates/ai-memory-mcp/src/server.rs, crates/ai-memory-consolidate/src/consolidator.rs and crates/ai-memory-llm/src/error.rs. These are the receipt's preserved queue/retry/recovery source-review inputs; inspected upstream tests were not rerun, and installed custom-build equivalence remains unknown. The failed retrieval of the earlier recorded ref remains in the receipt.
  • Repository source native-agent-stack@9b0b8d6d25f9e3fb8f71770500e774170423315e: 2026-10-02 two-host decision, lines 27–31, 41, 46–47 and 111. It retains the Mac ai-memory 2.5.2 owner, keeps memory ownership singular and distinguishes historical workstation receipts from current activation.
  • The same repository revision: docs/native-memory-rag-lifecycle.md systemd monitoring rows at main lines 115 and 127; manifests/stack.json ai-memory 2.4.1 component lock; docs/lanes.md hot-file protocol; scripts/host_receipts.py:710 (register_file); native component_matrix.py, new_host_grand_list.py and validate.py commands. Existing systemd/Loki/Prometheus interfaces remain the observation sources; no new monitor or orchestration layer is introduced.
  • Historical installed ai-memory --help, scoped auto-improve-report, memory_read_page, memory_read_session_observations and SocratiCode codebase_status/codebase_search observations are retained in the unchanged receipt. They were not replayed during custody.

Custody (2026-10-03)

Main was merged without rewriting the original PR commits. One paragraph labelled added 2026-10-03 under 0c custody now sits directly below the September 30 heading; all authored September 30 text and all other guide sections are unchanged. As repaired in the review round, the note states that the receipt has no host field and that its units and recorded build lineage match the WSL2 authoring laptop's records, not the workstation. The observation predates the two-host decision, whose scope is macOS and the workstation only, so it is not evidence about the Mac owner, the singular memory owner, the workstation or current consolidation health. Queue semantics after 353841d9, including main's 2.4.1 lock and the Mac owner's 2.5.2, were not reviewed here.

The receipt remains exactly 10,937 bytes, sha256 7a52c79bf573ab1d72b2f04b58fd9e0288fbfceb6df3b3e09709b7a9d0df65a9. Both owned files were re-registered from main's registry. Both native report generators produced no report diff, and none of main's 26 convergence records references these files or the generated reports.

Round 1 (builder and publisher): main moved to 4ced2923063db6a6dcafa9f25af5ee05a4153c75 (#636: AGENTS.md and its evidence row) after the builder prepared the registry, so main was merged a second time with git merge --no-ff (no rebase, no force), main's manifests/evidence.json was taken and the protocol registration was repeated on it. Commits on top of the original PR head 0a9f335fb8b66c6db1ab13c5a8e4b02b4696a910: merge 6235a1df0017588c7dafad56a0afce082773c884 (main 9b0b8d6d2), content 57186ade5e2044d3ed945acc41f350575885d4cf, merge e8bb457071e8013513d89a021aa099f16ab93cf3 (main 4ced29230) and registration a179e50c0d5a03e4b3f936279ebf89ecaf736c8b.

Round 2 (review repair): content 98f806d4c2bb5ddac181e49a42f50bf04752e25b replaces only the custody paragraph, and the registration-last commit f507cae2870ea6c00ae59f0b4adef402ff1e0ee6 re-registers the guide on main 4ced2923's registry. Main had not moved, so no merge was needed. The pushed head f507cae2870ea6c00ae59f0b4adef402ff1e0ee6 is a fast-forward of a179e50c0, pushed without force; the checks below ran on that committed head. The earlier CI on the old heads is not acceptance for the custody changes; fresh required CI for f507cae2870ea6c00ae59f0b4adef402ff1e0ee6 is pending.

Authorship

  • The round-1 custody paragraph was written by the GPT-6.1 Sol builder (codex exec, unit C538) in a sandbox that could not commit. Claude Opus 5.5 committed it (57186ade5) and the round-1 registration under the coordinator's sandboxed-builder addendum, which is why those commits carry a Claude Opus 5.5 trailer. History is not rewritten. This body's SOTA sources, decision record and host evidence sections come from the Sol builder's handoff; the round-1 publisher (Claude Opus 5.5) filled in the commit SHAs and command outputs.
  • The Claude Opus/max review of a179e50c0 was therefore cross-family relative to the Sol-written content.
  • This round's text is Claude-authored (Claude Opus 5.5): the replacement custody paragraph, apart from the retained queue-semantics sentence and the contract-prescribed label, and this body's Scope, evidence-class table, Custody, Authorship, Review round, proposed squash message and checklist changes. That departs from the contract's "Sol is the only writer" role. A read-only review of f507cae2870ea6c00ae59f0b4adef402ff1e0ee6 by a GPT-family model is therefore required before merge.

Review round (2026-10-03)

One bounded repair round on the Claude Opus/max read-only review of a179e50c0d5a03e4b3f936279ebf89ecaf736c8b, verdict repair. Repository sources below were read at the base 4ced2923063db6a6dcafa9f25af5ee05a4153c75; this PR does not change them.

  1. Blocking: the note placed the receipt on the workstation. Applied.
    • Only the custody paragraph changed. Everything before it, the rest of the section and every other guide section are byte-identical to a179e50c0, and the guide without the September 30 section equals main.
    • The paragraph now states that the receipt has no host field (no key containing host anywhere in the receipt JSON). Its ai-memory, qdrant-agent-lab and nemotron-embed-agent-lab units (receipt L148-150) match the WSL2 authoring laptop's records:
      • adoption/host-roles.json L46-47 lists wsl-authoring-20260923 as that laptop, and L6-7 give the workstation a different host_id;
      • evidence/receipts/vllm-030-switch-laptop-20260926.json L23 and L62 record that host and its production unit nemotron-embed-agent-lab.service.
    • Build lineage: this automation (receipt L4; the September 27 receipt L15) recorded the custom build 2.3.2-prefix-gpt6-f24f7181 from 62e73148 (September 27 receipt L31-32). That is the previously recorded source the receipt cites (L106, L202-204). manifests/stack.json L96 and L135 instead record upstream 2.4.1 on the workstation's memory unit since 2026-09-26.
    • Further support, not quoted in the guide:
      • evidence/receipts/native-terminal-profiles-20260920.json L21 shows both *-agent-lab units active (recorded 2026-09-21T00:23:57Z, L6), while docs/new-workstation-runtime-profile-20260922.md L3 still calls the workstation planned;
      • the receipt's 1,974-point SocratiCode collection (L128) equals the laptop's live collection (vllm-030-switch-laptop-20260926.json L139); this is a corroborating count only;
      • the workstation's own receipts name differently named units (evidence/receipts/vllm-030-switch-20260925.json L17 and L44; evidence/artifacts/sota-refresh-20260925/ai-memory-241/verify/active-units.txt).
    • The workstation's host_id and its unit names are not quoted. A grep of the diff for the distribution-name patterns returned no match.
    • The decision sentence follows the decision's scope, macOS and the workstation only (L5). The observation is therefore not evidence about the Mac's ai-memory 2.5.2 owner (L41, L111), the singular memory owner (L46-47), the workstation or current consolidation health. The clause about historical workstation receipts (L27-31) is dropped, because this is not a workstation receipt.
    • The queue-semantics sentence is kept verbatim.
    • This body's Scope line, evidence-class table and Custody paragraph are corrected. The proposed squash message below replaces the "to historical workstation" wording of 57186ade5's subject.
    • The contract's R1 and step 4 wording is corrected in the coordinator's private contract, with a dated correction note.
    • The guide is re-registered in the new registration-last commit f507cae2870ea6c00ae59f0b4adef402ff1e0ee6, and the checks were rerun (below). A fresh review of f507cae2870ea6c00ae59f0b4adef402ff1e0ee6 is pending; see finding 2.
  2. Should-fix: authorship trailers and review independence. Applied as a record; the review gate stays open.
    • Authorship is confirmed and stated in the Authorship section above. History is not rewritten.
    • This round's text is Claude-authored, so a GPT-family read-only review of f507cae2870ea6c00ae59f0b4adef402ff1e0ee6 is required before merge. It is pending, and the coordinator owns it.
    • The proposed squash subject, body and trailers are below. Pass them to gh pr merge explicitly.
  3. Minor: the SOTA pin differs from the stated base. Applied through the review's alternative fix.
    • The SOTA sources section stays byte-for-byte under the custody task, so its 9b0b8d6d2 pins remain.
    • Its repository citations were read at 9b0b8d6d2 and are byte-identical at the base 4ced2923. git diff --quiet 9b0b8d6d25f9e3fb8f71770500e774170423315e 4ced2923063db6a6dcafa9f25af5ee05a4153c75 -- docs/decisions/2026-10-02-two-host-north-star-architecture.md docs/native-memory-rag-lifecycle.md manifests/stack.json docs/lanes.md scripts/host_receipts.py scripts/component_matrix.py scripts/new_host_grand_list.py scripts/validate.py exits 0, and only AGENTS.md and manifests/evidence.json differ between the two revisions.
    • This round's new repository sources are cited at the base in the evidence-class table and in this section, not in SOTA sources.
  4. Minor: verification gaps. Applied for the local part.
    • The step-7 local checks were rerun on f507cae2870ea6c00ae59f0b4adef402ff1e0ee6 and are recorded verbatim below.
    • Required CI for f507cae2870ea6c00ae59f0b4adef402ff1e0ee6 was pending at this edit. Before the pinned squash merge, the merger must read gh pr checks 538 --required and require 8 required checks, buckets: pass.
    • Whether the installed build matches pin 353841d9 remains unknown, as the receipt states.

Check results on f507cae2870ea6c00ae59f0b4adef402ff1e0ee6, every exit code 0:

  • validate.py passed: 69 components, 9,421 hashed files, 187 receipts.
  • The two-file scan passed.
  • validate_convergence.py --all-recorded: all 26 records valid.
  • git diff --check printed nothing, and the receipt's diff against 0a9f335f is empty.
  • Receipt: sha256 7a52c79b…, 10,937 bytes. Guide: sha256 f344de2a…, 18,641 bytes.
  • The committed range lists only the guide, the manifest and the receipt. Both manifest entries equal the measured files.
  • The four generated reports have no diff.
  • The three pre-push registry tests ran 3, OK, both directly and in the pre-push hook.
  • Gitleaks scanned 6 commits and found no leaks. The tree is clean.

Proposed squash message (for the merger)

Pass explicitly, for example gh pr merge 538 --squash --match-head-commit <40-char headRefOid> --subject "<first line>" --body-file <file with the rest>, so that the default squash body does not repeat 57186ade5's superseded subject. The GPT-6.1 Sol trailer covers the retained queue-semantics sentence. The Claude Opus 5.5 trailer covers this round's paragraph and both registrations.

docs(memory): record scheduled consolidation quota failure (#538)

Record the September 30 scheduled memory/RAG observation: consolidation
generation 17,318 failed after five queue attempts with provider HTTP 429
usage_limit_reached, while retrieval, services and publication stayed
healthy. The receipt is unchanged. A dated custody paragraph records that the
receipt has no host field and that its units and recorded build lineage match
the WSL2 authoring laptop's records, not the workstation. It also records that
the observation is not evidence about the 2026-10-02 two-host decision's Mac
memory owner, the workstation or current consolidation health. Both files are
re-registered on main's registry.

Local commands run

The commands below ran on 2026-10-03 under nice -n 19 (the git checkout, rev-parse and push excepted), with TMPDIR set to a private session directory. The registration and generator commands ran before the registration-last commit; every later check ran on the committed head f507cae2870ea6c00ae59f0b4adef402ff1e0ee6 with a clean tree. Exit codes were read directly, never through a pipe. Empty-output checks have no final output line; ANSI colour codes are removed from the Gitleaks lines.

Decision record

observability/memory-scheduled-20260930.json#/decision retains the installed selection and the failed generation. A quota refusal does not establish a better memory implementation. The dated custody paragraph records the receipt's host attribution and the 2026-10-02 two-host decision's scope without changing runtime ownership. Recovery remains unexecuted; a fresh readiness check and independently observed supported recovery would be needed to change that historical boundary. Exact savings and restart persistence remain unknown.

Host evidence

No evidence/hosts/ files or host-matrix status changes. Historical observations remain historical and do not attest a new host's activation.

Takeover notice from Claude session native-agent-stack-0c, objection window until 2026-10-03T06:36Z.

A verified triage (Sonnet facts plus an Opus judge, re-read against main 56473e4b8) found this record is still valuable, not on main, not superseded by any merged PR, and has no live owner. After the window, if no one objects, this session will bring the branch up to current main:

  • merge main, with no force-push;
  • re-register its files through the docs/lanes.md hot-file protocol;
  • correct statements that went stale since it was opened, using dated notes, with evidence and frozen inputs unchanged;
  • obtain one independent read-only review, then land it.

To keep or land it yourself, comment here before 2026-10-03T06:36Z.

Custody plan from Claude session native-agent-stack-0c.

The takeover notice above closed at 2026-10-03T06:36Z with no objection. A live re-read against main dcae68bd0 confirms this record is still not on main and no other session owns it. The plan:

  1. Merge current main into this branch, with no rebase and no force-push. Re-register its two files in manifests/evidence.json using the docs/lanes.md hot-file protocol.
  2. Add one dated note to the September 30 section of docs/native-memory-rag-lifecycle.md. It scopes the section as a historical workstation observation and cites the 2026-10-02 two-host decision, which keeps the Mac ai-memory 2.5.2 owner.
  3. Keep observability/memory-scheduled-20260930.json byte-for-byte unchanged (sha256 7a52c79b…). Failed generation 17,318 will not be retried, reset or rerun. There will be no provider, account or database action.
  4. Get one independent read-only review of the exact head, and fresh runs of all 8 required checks. The earlier osv-scanner failure was a repo-wide problem that Retire historical WSL retrieval replay and isolate its archive scan #622 fixed on main.
  5. Squash-merge with the reviewed head pinned.

Steps 1–4 start now. The squash merge will wait until two hours after this comment's timestamp. To object, or to keep or land this PR yourself, comment here before then.

…thoring laptop

The Claude Opus review of a179e50 found that the custody paragraph placed
the September 30 receipt on the workstation, which its cited sources do not
show. The receipt has no host field. Its ai-memory, qdrant-agent-lab and
nemotron-embed-agent-lab units (receipt L148-150) match the WSL2 authoring
laptop's records (adoption/host-roles.json L46-47;
evidence/receipts/vllm-030-switch-laptop-20260926.json L23, L62), and this
automation's recorded custom 2.3.2-prefix-gpt6 build from 62e73148
(observability/memory-scheduled-20260927.json L31-32; receipt L106,
L202-204) is not the upstream 2.4.1 that manifests/stack.json L96 and L135
record on the workstation's memory unit since 2026-09-26.

The decision sentence now follows the 2026-10-02 two-host decision's scope,
macOS and the workstation only (L5): the observation is not evidence about
the Mac's ai-memory 2.5.2 owner (L41, L111), the singular memory owner
(L46-47), the workstation or current consolidation health. The
queue-semantics sentence is unchanged. Only the custody paragraph changes;
the receipt and every other part of the guide are byte-identical.

Authorship: the replaced paragraph (57186ad) was written by the GPT-6.1 Sol
builder (codex exec, unit C538) and committed by Claude Opus 5.5. This
replacement text is Claude-authored.

Hot-file protocol (docs/lanes.md): take main 4ced292's
manifests/evidence.json and re-register both owned files with
host_receipts.register_file. The guide entry moves from 4bfd4eb7/18,125
bytes to f344de2a/18,641 bytes after the host-scope repair; the receipt
entry is unchanged (7a52c79b, 10,937 bytes). Both report generators
produced no diff, and none of the 26 convergence records references these
files.

Exact-head SOURCE ACCEPT at 3bb9388ba28153af8c52b037a2134df5ee4eb757 for the bounded source reconciliation and dated evidence publication. All owned contexts were read in full and independently Git-verified: three current paths including the registry. The pinned scope controls.

The September30 consolidation failure remains historical evidence with no receipt host field. The new host attribution follows unit/build names and cited laptop lineage; it is not independent authentication of the historical host. The failed generation, five queue attempts, unresolved429 and distinct observation counters remain. Five attempts do not prove five HTTP requests; supported recovery/current health, full-stack memory quality and savings remain unqualified.

Independent native prospective merge against main 1f5a791b02a230aced670c88bab3d3d0ebcf401a returned 0, tree 9540629119c4cec89a77ed098c8fd66d06e675c7. Root independently derived the complete original tree/registry comparisons: foreign source modes/OIDs and rows/order, all 193 receipts, 29 convergence records and other metadata remain exact, with owned payloads and registrations preserved. #640’s newer dashboard state carries exactly. CI, custody and subsequent revisions remain separate; this read performs no deployment, recovery, private-state access, test or model run.

Semantic/source packet manifest SHA256 db4f86b3cefae7bccecf7445c9554817d4b86694bea7dcb977d71cc5c6d91fd9 retains 50 native0 captures; prospective packet 5d2c9a4244e0ec2c227ce343e6e3cd90a189464ff7a465b226ad38197483b0eb retains 43 native0 and three help129. All original byte/SHA bindings and the current full Git body identities were independently verified; historical private execution remains unauthenticated.
