that sounds like a good idea but the big problem is the sheer volume of faces. AllTheRageFaces has almost 400 faces on it, and new ones are added all the time. it's already pretty hard to navigate the mess of faces in adium. we need a better way to organize those, or a way to rate their usage so we can periodically prune or something.
We can have it be opt in. It would also be awesome if the api provides tags and popularity.

There are a couple of good repositories of rage faces that provide download packs or APIs. (http://ragefac.es/) (http://alltheragefaces.com/).
