Document how to include static files and linking to them

The documentation should include some information on how to include static files (such as images), and how to link to them.

I'm thinking about moving the little markdown blurb in the introduction to a markdown.md with the same info a very brief overview of some markdown highlights with the same links to more documentation and tutorials. Does this seem like a reasonable way to address this?
