Custom-built distribution: rabbitmq-server failed to start because erts.app cannot be found

Describe the bug

I am trying to build and run rabbitmq-server for my embedded linux board. I am working with rabbitmq-server 3.13.0.
It does compile and installed file. But when I try to run, it fails with.

Here is yocoto layer, I am using to build rabbitmq-server.

Reproduction steps

I am not sure whether it is possible reproduce this on qemu emulator.
I will try it and update here.

Expected behavior

This should run normally same as docker image or package installed from debian repository.

This has not been reported elsewhere, so something is off with your Erlang/OTP build or your custom-built RabbitMQ distribution.

Our team will not spend any time on custom distributions. You built it? You maintain it.

Apparently erts.app actually does exist for ERTS (the runtime core). I cannot imagine how exactly one can build Erlang in a way that ERTS would not be available.

But maybe some of its dependencies are not because Debian maintainers believe that Erlang/OTP should be like 30+ individual packages 🤦

RabbitMQ Debian guide documents the ones that RabbitMQ requires.

It provides some compatibility for things that OTP needs, but it is not a real application. The core applications are kernel and stdlib. erts must never be set as a dependency. Wherever that dependency is defined, it should be removed.
