Inconsistent <u> tag formatting

Hello, found a strange bug:

<u> tag seems to not work well with other tags and behaves differently depending on the use case.

Attaching an example below:

Are there any known workarounds?

This should be fixed in 8.0

I was mistaken, but it is fixed in #725
